Well speaking from a purely addictive point of view it has to be Diablo 2. I played that game for years and even still pull it out now and again.

This is going to be controversial, but Im going to say it: the best game I have ever played is:

    World of Warcraft.

Closely followed by Baldur's Gate 2 and Diablo 2.

I woulda never guessed, Mobster. ;)

Let's see... Rails Across America, Railroad Tycoon, TA, or... too hard to choose, heh. I mean, for example, modern inovations in interface design have made Civ4 more fun to play in some ways than Alpha Centari, but AC was a great game when it came out and is still fun. I guess it depends on what mood I'm in as to what game is the best.

Very hard decision. Based purely on how many times I've replayed games in my collection I'd have to say Half-Life 2 (and Episodes). Bioshock is a runner up.

I think it is very hard to define BEST GAMe since there also diffrent types of games.

If that is the case then I could not decide on one.

Diablo 2. I bought this game when it came out and have beat more times than I can remeber (I still play it). Only other games that I consider in the same league as Diablo 2 are RE4 and FF7.

    Warbirds (MMO WWII Flight Sim).

I'm a member of a virtual squadron there since 1996. Had the greatest, most exciting moments ever there, made friends all over the world. You can't ask more from a game.

Other than that, Diablo 2. For some time, I was in real danger of having my soul sucked into that game :)

Tricky... A good candidate might be Beyond Good & Evil. Few games have had managed the combination of good graphics, music, voice acting, as well as incredible art direction, and a really good story.

Tricky though, there are so many good games. It depends on what we mean by "best game". I spent insane amounts of time on Medieval: Total War (the first one), and that game was brilliant as well, but best?
On the other hand, few games can beat good old Doom for the simple kick-ass action and adrenaline rush.

Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2.

Not really a game, but a mod. It's the most realistic combat game you'll play. Project Reality is teamwork at its best. I suggest everyone who owns a copy of BF2 to try this game out, but make sure to read the manual before you jump into the fight.

I remember I bought the whole Diablo II expansion package like 10 years ago, cost me like $70. I didn't really had a chance to play it since my desktop was only P-II 300mhz and 4GB HDD. (1 frame per 4 seconds when in combat) the game itself took 2.5GB of space.
*average speed of deskptop is like 800mhz by that time.
