A bit faster than that, lol, 5-6x faster. More like a desktop 650Ti.

He meant that if the minimum req is a 8800GT, then the Clevos will run the game with no problem.

Didn't know titanfall was Origin only for PC - that's not cool. Guess I'm not playing it. (linux laptop here and I'm not going to run Origin under Wine just for 1 game)
-
Lol ya, I was just being sarcastic. I thought it was pretty funny how Gamespot considers this "breaking news."
As for current-gen 14" gaming laptops, these will have no problem running the game, it's on the source engine after all. This engine is known for pumping out great visuals with low requirements. -
Just buy a $20 hard drive, install windows (free if you know how to get it lol), install origin and Titanfall. play game.
-
Using Source engine, but not on Steam... hmmm.

Who am I, exactly?
I'm actually pretty excited to try this out. I think it has a lot of potential. -
Yup. To expect it to be on Steam would be to admit you're a moron. I hope everyone in this thread wasn't a moron and now crying that it's Origin exclusive.
BF4 has it's own issues, and battlelog etc, but that's DICE and BF4, not related to Origin. Origin launches the game, and downloads BF4 fantastically well. BF4 crashes is just DICE doing a crappy job with QA and testing.
And anyone who is calling this is a Source game is a moron too. Just look at all the game play. This game looks nothing like any Source game out there. It looks, and framerate and performance pretty much MW Engine. Gee, who made MW Engine? It's been repeated over and over that while Source may have been used as a basis, it's been completed gutted and rebuilt. It's not just what the player sees, what going on in the back bone and for developer tools, that too has been gutted and redone. You can't modify the game with Source developer kit! It's been stated it's impossible to run this game on Source. If you ran this game on source, you'd have single digit framerate, you can't play TitanFall on Source.. This would be the same as calling COD MW Engine a Quake 3 engine. It's nonsense.
The question I have for TitanFall is not about Origin or Source. It's Microsoft's Azure 300,000 server cloud computing. TitanFall supposed to be the first game to truly utilize XBone's cloud computing, offloading AI and physics to Azure. How will this work on PC? Is there going to be cloud computing to control AI and physics for PC too? -
Uh, ok. Someone copy/pasted info from the interwebz:
Digital Foundry vs. Respawn: the Titanfall interview • Interviews • Eurogamer.net
" Digital Foundry: The Source Engine... why?
Drew McCoy: We evaluated tons of engines - all the well-known ones, and the not so well-known ones.
Digital Foundry: Of course, with Call of Duty, you guys have the track record in taking an existing technology and making something new from it...
Drew McCoy: Yeah, we chose it because a lot of our designers wanted to prototype gameplay from day one and we had effectively 10 years of gameplay toys that were already in the engine from all the Valve games that we could use, like, "oh they did that in Team Fortress, let's pull that in and see how that works" and if it's good, then we'll go and make our own that's better suited for what we want to do.
Digital Foundry: So are you still using the original Valve tools for things like level design?
Drew McCoy: At this point I hate to say that it's the Source Engine.
Digital Foundry: In the same way that saying Call of Duty uses the Quake 3 engine?
Drew McCoy: Yeah, I mean we've replaced... it's a whole new renderer, all-new audio code, all-new net code, all-new input code for gamepad. There's some stuff that we've just improved but we've done massive changes. We have our own level editor, we have our own lighting, the way that maps are compiled..." -
Titanfall beta signups are now live: Titanfall [Official Site]

Wait, I thought this was an open Beta for all to try?
-
I thought so too... apparently not...
Here is a hands on demo from PCGamer:
The textures, especially on the mechs, look like crap -.-"Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
MY GOD the graphics are horrible: Titanfall screenshots: max settings at 7680x1440 on LPC | PC Gamer (56k warning)
Low-res textures, lack of depth due to basic lighting & shadowing, no transparency AA causing horrible jaggies on foliage, no fancy shader/post-processing effects, and ZOMG inside the cockpit of that Titan.
OK I get that it would look better at 1080p and graphics aren't everything, but come on Titanfall, this is just a pathetic and disappointing showing for a 2014 game. You're 10 years behind the curve here. Even other Source Engine games look better than you, e.g. Black Mesa, Vindictus, Cinematic Mod.
Gameplay better be an 11/10 or else you're never gonna hear the end of it for somehow managing to look worse than CoD.
Looking on the bright side, at least the recommended system requirements won't be much higher than the minspec, if at all.

Got the email this morning with a beta key, downloading now.
-
Lol wow, Origin is such a fail. I have just got my Titanfall Beta code, but I am only on my Windows 8 tablet right now. I downloaded Origin on this for the first time just to redeem my code, but I simply can't log into Origin. No matter how may times I touch the screen to type in my email/password, Origin doesn't register me touching the screen. This is such a letdown, Origin fails the the most simplest of tasks....
-
How'd you get it this morning? I signed up and said I won't know until Feb 17.
-
They said all the codes would be sent out by Feb 17 the latest. I got mine this morning too.
-
Wow, another major fail... the Titanfall beta code that I received is for Xbox Live... not PC, even though I clearly signed up for PC. What a major letdown... if anyone has a Xbox One and want's a beta code then pm me, I have no use for it.

12.65Gb, too much !

Well, just played the training session and a couple rounds online before heading back to work. It's definitely worth trying out, and looks better in action than those screenshots posted above.
Graphics aren't the best, but man does it run and play smooth, which is always going to be my preference. My first very early initial feeling is it's a fun experience, I really enjoyed it. The Titans are a hoot to play with, but the game still felt balanced enough to enjoy going after a Titan on foot as just a pilot. Had one pilot guy jump on my Titan before I knew what was happening and disabled it... I ejected, got my bearings and proceeded to hunt him down on foot.
The explosion of the Titans does look pretty cool too. General mechanics and feel felt right and natural. Look forward to spending some more time with it this weekend. I am however a sucker for a good mechanized combat shoot em up. -
So it runs on source but isn't allowed on steam?
EA master troll AF. -
Well, just went to play a bit more, and ran into this problem:
Titanfall Beta servers down: Microsoft working on fix - SlashGear
Game itself loads but without a server connection it's literally useless... can't even go through the tutorial without connecting to a server first. -
Ran into this as well. Guess it gives me time to play something else!be77solo likes this.
-
Server issues are to be expected with a beta. Hopefully they'll hammer the issues out before release this time.
-
This game is not playing very smooth on my laptop. Stuttering everywhere! I don't know if its a driver problem or just a hardware problem.
-
Try disabling V-Sync entirely and play in either windowed or borderless windowed (if you wonder how there's a post on reddit that tells you how). That should fix the stuttering on Nvidia cards.
As for myself, it's running pretty good. Almost always 40-60 FPS unless there's a lot of smoke and particle effects on screen. Settings are a mixture of high/low (mostly high) 1600x900. -
Finally got the pc beta code, downloading it now. I'll be running it on both mt laptop and desktop and update on how it performs, as well as if in my opinion the game will be worth looking at upon release.
-
PC will be open for all to play without a BETA code. sounds like it will be sometime today (Sunday). Origin required.
Titanfall beta opens up to all on Xbox One tonight, PC maybe tomorrow - GameSpot -
these tryin to reconnect are driving me crasy.. but the game is awesome, gonna need a DVD Box version from someone from the family who is gonna travel abroad
-
This is a real fun game, even though the visuals aren't the greatest. It's action packed without feeling chaotic or confusing. It's well balanced so that you don't feel powerless when you're on foot and invincible when you're in a Titan. I can see myself sinking a fair few hours into this.
-
Just wish that I could have received a key.
-
How's it running on your machines, beta testers?
Does it play like a source game....or is it better? -
It looks like a source game, but it actually runs pretty smooth with vsync off. I'm not sure what's wrong with vsync but it makes the game stutter pretty bad
-
Thanks for the info. What's your setup, btw?
-
Frame rate stutter or input lag? Source is one of those game engines where the input lag caused by V-Sync is especially bad.
In his sig? LOL -
Woops, using tapatalk... -
It's weird, it's like, frame stutter that also locks up my mouse. I haven't tested it that much because I just turned off VSync immediately rather than screwing with it.
-
Not a fan of the grunts (bots). 6v6 just isn't enough on PC. Relegate that sort of play to the console peasants. Give us 12v12! :/
-
Have you actually played? 12 on 12 would be utter chaos on these maps.
-
I think I like it, not sure
I´m worried how it´ll hold up in the long run, matches are fastpaced and over in 10-20 minutes.
Regarding performance, my system: Clevo P150HM, i7 2960XM, 7970M 13.12, 8 GB RAM, Win 7 64bit.
I run Titanfall on 1080p, all High, no AA. I have not experienced any bugs, glitches or crashes so far. Some considerable tearing during the tutorial so V-sync is on. There might be some rare input lag or stuttering, not sure and it is rare. No trouble connecting via matchmaking.
The game feels smooth and polished imo. This is a 35 minute session over four rounds of Attrition.

GPU: http://i.imgur.com/CK022oR.jpg
FPS: http://i.imgur.com/DaJ8AMX.jpg
As you can see the cpu is barely breaking a sweat, I was expecting it to be a little more cpu-heavy.
The gpu usage on the other hand lies between 60-100% and the temp actually peaks at 90 degrees C.
Fps is more or less steady at 60.
All in all solid and stable performance so far. -
anyone tell me if the open beta has been added to origin yet.
im at work so cant check
-
It is in Australia
Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk -
It is here now (USA)

thanks for reply.
were always last so anyone in the UK/EU got it yet. -
finally! 5 more hours of download to go.
EDIT: got to play a round. definitely feels like COD without the killstreak. after playing bf4 for so long i had to get used to faster gameplay. its kinda fun. -
7pm and still no sign of it in the uk
-
Is Titanfall DX9 or DX11?
Does SLI work out of the box or do you need to mess with custom SLI profiles in Nvidia Control Panel or Inspector? -
I haven't been able to get past the matchmaking wait screen since day 1. Different data centers don't help either.
