Wow that's crazy.
On my 7970m @1920x1200 alienware with ultra it holds 30fps. At high about 34 fps.
On the 680m @1920x1080 at high about 32 fps and ultra about 28-30.
On both at ultra never see it dip below 28.
Are you using msaa?

maybe the amd just need to put out new drivers.the game doesnt come out till tomorow and there will probably be a day 1 patch.

guys i modded my bios..what the safe temperature for a gpu?i know for cpu is under 85C and for gpu also?
-
I've also tried the game on my alienware 17 (see specs in sig) and the best I can do is 1600x900 on medium settings (with shadows & textures on high, AO to HBAO+Low, no motion blur) to get close to 60fps - it still drops during:
- driving segments
- streaming levels
- saving checkpoints
- saving collectable data like siphoned bank funds, music, cars from hackable NPCs. -
I have nearly finished the game..
LoL -
I had FXAA on, I putted SMAA Temporal instead. I putted the Ultra preset and removed motion blur -
Nearly finished? Everything I've read, the game takes 40 hours to complete. So 10-12 hours of gaming a day, eh? -
I tried running the game at 1080p with ultra textures and a mix of mediumn-high settings with motion blur off and i saw my 780m's temps topping at 83 deg C.
900p reduces the GPU temp by 5-8 degrees. -

Even in my heyday, when I *could* spend all weekend playing games, I'd stop every 2-3 hours, get up and do something semi-active for 30 minutes at least, then get back to business. I don't care how comfortable of a chair I'm sitting in, it's just too much for me.

i like how there's one ctOS tower that you can't get to by climbing: it's in the brandon docks area.
the tower is on a roof next to an abandoned factory and there's a cargo carrier, the only way to get to the ctOS tower is to drive a car into the cargo carrier, lift the carrier, then just drive straight into the fence....made me laugh cos it was so easy and yet out of the box. -

Indeed you are all correct.
At end of each mission in non-virtual world an interlude exists for bodious excretious wastes and aerobic oxygenation of tissue matter.

I dare to ask: is this game playable on a Nvidia nvs 5400m/gt630m? I mean playable (>30fps) in 720p/low details?
-
I got SweetFX going with this and also played with ultra settings.
I am finding at high graphics quality with HBAO + and SMAA and sweetFX the best image quality. Somehow ultra I find worst IQ.
Here is my getaway car massive police run went for about 5 minutes with helicopters insane!!! but totally enjoyable.
PS- guys I am at the end of Act I.
I am taking it easy going to enjoy it over the next week or so slowly  -
That insane VRAM requirement reminds me of people who claimed that 8GB of GDDR5 on the GTX880M is overkill xD
We are slowly getting there, and with SLI setups, the 256bits bandwidth isn't such a problem. -
as per Guru3d, Nvidia is going to release new driver tomorrow aimed at watch dogs, they have already uploaded it on their website

AMD will also release a new driver for tomorrow !

Right now the game has locked me at 30fps for some reason. I have vsync on, but my monitor is 60hz so I don't get it. Any way aside from that, the gtx660m is struggling with this game at 1080p medium or low settings. I think the game looks good at 1600x900 even though it isn't the native resolution for my external monitor. Probably just need to wait for a performance fix patch perhaps. Game seems pretty cool, but not sure if it will engage me as I'm not a big fan of the GTA series.
Using a much older driver version though. -
Hmm, going through this thread it seems that Ultra would run just fine with 780M SLI as long as I don't go nuts with the AA.

but i expect a day 1 patch. -
Guru3d have benchmarked the game.
Watch Dogs VGA graphics performance benchmark review - Article - Guide - Review
Some excellent tips in that review eg pg5
Change the DeferredFXQuality option to PC located in Docs > My Games > Watchdogs > xxxx > GamerProfile.xml) from console to PC
Will tweak these settings later tonight and report findings.
Plus the review keeps emphasising the need to use high settings and not ultra as the game engine has issues with reproducibility of scores being compromised. -

Hi;
What should I expect will be my fps on ultra setting full hd?
Thanks -
=) -
I am running on Ultra, 1080p, motion blur off and the game is absolutely one of the best looking games I've ever played. I was getting 45-60fps, with a few drops here and there. Seems driving really takes the biggest hit on performance. The environment is so alive and detailed. There is so much to explore and enjoy. I think I will spend many hours with this game. Just did about 2 hours after initial launch and have been loving every minute of it so far.
With turbo fan I am getting 72C GPU and 78C CPU after 2 hours. -
An update patch has been released am applying will update soon.
-
So what about the multi ? "team deathmatch remix" + hacking into another one's game, what else ?
-
It runs smooth with everything on max - ultra graphics HBAO+ and SMAA + sweetFX and I am averaging now at 32-34 fps whilst before on this same setting it was 28 so a nice little boost.
Hope this helps. -
For those of you who were playing the leaked torrent earlier...LOL @ the irony.

Even with the patch in large map areas the demand was dropping the fps's to around 28 which you can feel. -

Graphics
Watch Dogs has some pretty decent graphics but I felt like it was the un-finalized version of a Pixar flick.
Watch Dogs review | PC Gamer
I found little to like in Watch Dogs’ story, however.
Technically, Watch Dogs gets a pass. I ran it mostly on medium settings (my specs: Intel Core i7 @ 2.80 GHz, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti) and got a steady, medium-looking performance, with the only noticeable framerate drops occurring while driving.

One-button hacking might be overly simplistic, but it does give you abilities that make playing through Aiden’s story feel powerful and fun. Doing side missions and multiplayer as you make your way through the dark and lengthy story makes it feel like a huge adventure, and stealth options let you play smart if you prefer. Car chases aside, Watch Dogs is fundamentally very well made, and has more than enough unique ideas to make it a great and memorable open-world action game. -

Meanwhile I got my digital copy (or lack of) here from GMG and I'm sitting here refreshing the webpage and waiting for them to realize its the 27th to download already!octiceps likes this. -
Was hoping GMG would have a discount of some sorts. But I'm still trudging through Wolfenstein, so will likely just wait.

I was able to get it for $45 from this Tek Syndicate link. You might still have time to use that coupon code since GMG isn't putting out yet.

Hi guys I have a core i7 with a nvidea gtx 675 graphics card and 16gb or RAM. Will I be able to run watchdogs on this setup?
Many thanks -
Still $48 is a bit steep, and probably won't get to it for another month... -
Well, I've got the buying willpower of a gerbil, picked up a copy last minute lol... spent a couple hours playing this AM before work.
First impressions aren't great, more "meh" I'd say but still could be fun. I suppose it'll get better but not in any hurry to find out. Feels like a clunky GTA IV to me, with GTA V being the better experience of either.
Graphics are good but nothing that seems to be worthy of all the fuss. Gameplay on foot is like GTA IV with the addition of a cellphone that reports everyone's income, but unfortunately the driving feels wonky for some reason.
Take this with a grain of salt as I've only played a couple hours before I had to head out, not sure what I was expecting and wasn't terribly excited about this one anyway, but with all the hype figured it was worth trying. In hind sight I'd have waited for a sale.
Back to Wolfenstein -

Anyway, smart move. Just finish Wolfenstein now and see how it goes. GMG always has these vouchers. Who know, maybe afterwards you won't have any blues for this game afterwards and decide just to wait for one of them big Steam sales.
