I have it as well, but haven't put much time into it. Got confused with the combos at the first boss. Looks interesting anyway.

Great visuals and art style, memory remixes were awesome. Unfortunately not a lot of them were in the game. Story was alright. Biggest let down was combat. And that combo-lab thing was a gimmick. I did like how music intersected with combat, and soundtrack was good overall.hmscott likes this. -
I haven't played that one. It was said to mostly be a miss, the company was figuring out its path. I'll probably be getting Vampyr though.hmscott likes this.

Oh the nicknames are hilarious. I always love seeing pictures of them. But that game is broken at its core and is entirely designed for LAN or under ~30 ping. I'm not going to get that, and thus I'm not interested. I also have fundamental problems with any game that can't handle at least up to 150 ping for players without completely breaking and becoming unplayable on the whole, so it's not just CS.
Sleeping Dogs was good =D. Enjoy! Also, git gud scrub
(It's the Dark Souls in me).

I've completed SP like 3 already
Great game, but wish it had more customizable controls.
DS lot must be the new vegans. "How do you know a person plays DS. He/she will tell you"
Thank you, though. But it's still long way till I'll be "gud" at CS. -
I meant to git gud at Sleeping Dogs xD
And nah, I just only mention it when the topic comes up or the words "git gud" show up
I did manage to convert @tgipier though. He is now new veg.. I mean a souls lover. -

No One Lives Forever - awesome series ("free" version, since it can't be bought anywhere). Too bad the ****heads (whoever they are, since no one knows who exactly owns the rights) wont let Nightdive make a refresh and they are not planing one either.

Yeah, it's a damn shame some of the older games are hard to find to buy...
I've already requested SWAT4 + addon, Vietcong + addon, NOLF1 & 2, etc. on GoG. Hopefully one day they will be released.Last edited: Jul 20, 2016 -
I voted for NOLF1&2 on GOG as well, but then here's the "current" state on the matter. In the mean time Nightdive not only revived a bunch of other titles, as well as System Shock series, but they also make a brand new System Shock game! Shame doesn't even begin to describe the situation.

There is a reason for this... Soulsbourne games (except 2 as it is considered easier) tend to separate the men from the boys (or women from the girls) as quite frankly even self-described "elite" gamers and streamers tend to get curbstomped by the tutorial boss so badly it forces /ragequit.
Soulsbourne players aren't trying to convert the world like vegans... if high-skill-requirement games aren't your thing... you should stay with WoW or Hello Kitty island adventure or Doom 2016. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Well you got that bragging and thinking that you are better than the others part right from vegans
It's not the skill requirement which originally swayed me away from DS1, it was a horrible PC port.
Though I will agree that a prospect of replaying the same boss for 100500th time doesn't sound very attractive to me...well, because I have other stuff to do.Last edited: Jul 20, 2016 -
I actually fully agree with DS1 being a terrible port. The thing is the game is worth all the trouble IMHO.
DS3 is not a port and the PC version is just as good or better than the console.
Undoubtedly I am also better at any number of other things than you (or any other person) may be. Then again, I am also worse than both you and other people at other things.
The difference is that I am not butthurt about it.

can't get into Dark Souls series. The atmosphere just too damn depressing. Not to mention, I can't cancel my attack, which makes the fight harder than it could've been.
play a bit Metal Gear Solid 5. No idea what I'm doing. Quiet when

I recently finished another play through of Deus Ex: Human Revolution in anticipation of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided coming out in a few weeks. It'll probably be a while after that before I purchase Mankind Divided, but I'm super excited for it. I'm also looking forward to the new Civilization game coming out - haven't played a Civ game other than Civ I, so I can't wait to see how things have changed after five more iterations.

In all my years of gaming, I never actually beat the first Deus Ex until a couple weeks ago. I installed the New Vision mod, and it looked and played great at 1440p. As good as it is, though, I still have to say that I prefer the look, feel, and gameplay of Human Revolution more. Among the PS3, Mac, PC original, and Director's Cut versions of HR, I probably have close to 500 hours invested, and even to this day I keep discovering things I missed in prior playthroughs, be they items, conversations, etc. I tried Invisible War immediately thereafter, and it barely works. I can't get widescreen to function, even with FOV hacks. Loading screens/level transitions are frequent and time consuming even when running from a SSD, not to mention the fact that it looks like it crashes to the desktop every time they occur. The controls are clunky, and the UI is awful.
Right now, I'm going through Deus Ex: The Fall. Since they patched out microtransactions and patched in the ability to remap the controls however you want, the game is not bad at all. It still has its fair share of bugs, but it's absolutely a worthy addition to the franchise. It will often go on sale for $1-2, and at that price, for 5 or so hours of gameplay, it's a good deal.
I held off on pre-ordering Mankind Divided in the hopes that they would do a physical release for the PC, but it wasn't happening, so I picked up a code from GMG when they were running a 20% off sale. I also bought the season pass with some spare Amazon credit. And to complete the ensemble, I ordered this mouse and keyboard. I figure in the unlikely event that Mankind Divided sucks, the theme still works for Human Revolution.Attached Files:

Nice. Are you going for a pacifist run through? It's tough, but totally worth it.
My first, and so far only, Deus Ex game is Human Revolution (Director's Cut on Wii U). I'd love it if they remastered the older games, I'd definitely give them a shot.
Are you playing The Fall on your computer? I've only heard bad things about the PC version, but if it's as good (and cheap) as you say, I may have to pick it up. -
Not doing pacifist. Mostly taking enemies out silently hand to hand, but if I get in a jam or feel like popping some headshots at distance I'll go for kills. I'm just in it to see the story ending at this point and move on to the next backlogged game.

It's interesting because the Director's Cut on the PC is based on the Wii U code, so it actually looks inferior and is a bit buggier than the original. It somewhat makes up for it by including the DLC and original pre-order bonus items and mission so that's what I'll play when I need a fix. While the Director's Cut is available on the platform, the best version of the game on all systems is the "Ultimate Edition" for Mac OS. It was released on DVD and the Mac App Store. It's based on the visually superior original code, and the company that ported it to OS X fixed some additional bugs that have gone unaddressed on other platforms.
There is a remastered version/mod of the first game called Deus Ex: Revision. I tried it and didn't care for it because I think it strayed too much from the developers' vision. The New Vision mod I referenced earlier stays true to the original but adds polish in the form of modern Windows OS support, high-res textures, HUD scaling for ultra-high-resolution displays, and more. I wouldn't play Deus Ex without it, and I wish someone would give Invisible War the same treatment because I really do want to give it another chance.
I originally bought The Fall for iOS but never really played it much. People dumped on the PC port, and rightfully so, because in its first release, it was little more than a hasty cash-in. I do have to take back my previous comment about microtransactions - they were not present in the initial release. However, it didn't support re-binding the controls nor adjusting stuff like mouse speed. They did address these issues in a patch that also fixed most of the major bugs, so the game is at least playable. Again, I wouldn't spend $10 on it, but stick it on your Steam wishlist, wait for it to go on sale for 50-90% off, then grab it.
When you do pick it up, set up a profile in your NVIDIA control panel for the game and disable threaded optimization, which fixes an audio stuttering problem.Last edited: Aug 5, 2016Prototime likes this. -
If you get the chance sometime, I'd definitely recommend making another run-through of the game after you finish your current one. I've played it 3 times, and much to my surprise, I was still discovering new things to do and small plot twists even on my third play through. There's so many different options and paths to take, it's a blast.
Good to know this - I'd seen Deus Ex: Revision on steam and wasn't too sure about it. I hadn't heard of the New Vision mod, I'll keep this one in mind - poking around the internet it looks like a lot of people think The Vision is great and better than Revision. So I may end up picking up the game with the mod at some point
Probably after I get through Mankind Divided.
Thanks, that's exactly what I'm going to do! I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Good to know, I've made a note of it - thanks!
BTW, did you end up pre-ordering Mankind Divided? I probably won't be able to get it for a couple months still, but if you end up getting and playing it early on, I'd be curious to hear your (non-spoilery) impressions, if you'd like to share. -

You'll still find new things even after 10 playthroughs. Even if it's a different dialogue branch or piece of flavor text you might have overlooked previously. The amount of love Eidos Montreal put into crafting Human Revolution really shows. It's too bad the same couldn't be said of the Thief reboot. I didn't think that game was awful, but I never played the original trilogy. I can certainly sympathize with those who did and were left very disappointed with the reboot, especially since the studio hit a grand slam with Human Revolution.
Once you do get the first Deus Ex, set aside plenty of time to go through it. It is long. Your first run will easily take 20-30 hours, if not more depending on how much exploration you do. I would also strongly suggest playing on Easy mode the first time because even on normal difficulty, it is brutally hard.
But it's not the difficulty that is my main issue. At the time it was released, it was probably only slightly harder than average when you consider other titles from the time period, such as System Shock 2. My biggest beef is that, while you have the freedom to play basically however you want, it's a bit too open-ended. What I mean is whenever I was completing my objectives, I always felt like I was missing something - an area that would get me more skill points to improve my abilities; an items cache; an augmentation upgrade canister (the original Deus Ex's version of Praxis kits); etc. It was never an issue during gameplay, but it stuck like a splinter in my mind, keeping me from enjoying it more than I probably otherwise would have. It's not something I ever felt during Human Revolution.
I held out for as long as possible in the hope that there would be a physical release for the PC, at least in North America (I believe Europe will get one). It sucks because as an Amazon Prime member, I get 20% off newly released games, but they have to be physical copies. Crap on Ubisoft, Bethesda, and EA all you want, but all these companies still offer something physical for PC buyers. The first still provides the complete game on disc; the second put in a single DVD in a case with Steam code for DOOM (so you still had to download most of the game); the third provided only a digital code - but in all cases, I could take advantage of the Amazon discount.
Not so with Mankind Divided, so I pre-ordered a Steam code from Green Man Gaming when they were running a 20% off coupon. I then used some Amazon credit to order the season pass. I've never bought a season pass, but I'm hopeful there will be at least $30 worth of DLC coming.
I'm taking off work on the 23rd and 24th to play the game, which is something I haven't done in years. I'm trying my best to maintain a level head, but it's really, really hard.Prototime likes this. -
If I had the time maybe. There's enough that would be identical and I have way too many games to get to. Probably won't do that.

That's exactly why you should have done Gwent while going through the story.
I got burned out playing Gwent in B&W, when I pretty much did 19 games in one go... -
Especially since they have a nice standalone Gwent game coming out soonish, it makes me that less likely to break out TW3 again after finishing everything but largely ignoring Gwent.

After playing some Doorkickers decided to install SWAT4 TSS and was lucky enough to stumble upon 1,5 coop servers which are still on. Man, SWAT4 TSS coop is still unbeaten. 11 years later and no one can still make a better tactical coop game...
In the mean time, gonna test Spartacus II A2.
