If you get an RTX card you can get it free as well or $20~ on eBay.

If only there was more content in Anthem.

Anthem is like a bonsai tree: small, pretty, detailed, but lacking in content.
Division 2 is like a zen garden: bigger, pretty, detailed, but with lots to do :D

For someone not following all the Anthem madness, did the latest patch actually fix a bunch of things? Is this to be considered a better experience now?

there isn't much endgame content TBH. some of the gameplay and art design is pretty cool but that's it. I'm playing it at 30fps with xbox one x settings with a 1070 just to get a stable experience because the game just isn't stable at 60fps.

I had high Hope's for anthem as you all know....but is it still worth it...curious because I'm thinking of buying a gaming laptop just for that game....I'm not a big gamer but I think it would be cool to fly around and explode everything....thoughts and opinions welcome

To be completely frank I think there's lots of good parts to the game, the gun play is good, the flying is fun, but those things just can't fight against the lack of vision and most of all the lack of content. The progression system feels way out of whack with the story, the story itself feels mediocre, some of the missions are so disjointed that you're introduced to a new character assuming you were introduced but in another mission you're introduced. Performance wise the game can't even hold 60fps at 1080p with med-high settings on a 1070 and while i can handle 30fps others may not and it might be a turn off.

The grind is more of a tedious grind rather than a fun grind like in division 2. The endgame is broken because there's barely anything to be called an endgame as it's just more contracts to complete just to stall you till the new content coming in april-may.

You can tell that Anthem doesn't know what it wants to be and that's a reflection on the developer's leadership not having a set vision and just doing a whole lot of wheel spinning.

I suggest just getting the origin access premier for 1 month to try it out and if you like it then keep playing, if you don't then you cancel no harm done.

Don't get me wrong, I like the game and I accept that it has faults and that those faults are unacceptable by a lot of people and I get the rage behind it. I am not trying to sugar coat this.

just try and if it don't float your boat then no harm done...just move to division 2 :D

when i mean the progression is out of whack is that i expect to finish the story at level 28-30 and not at level 18 and by then i had only unlocked 3 of the 4 javelins when i feel i should have unlocked all 4 before even reaching the final boss mission.

Yeah, it's a Swiss Army knife for sure. And, it is amazing how many games run on Linux now with Steam Play (Proton 4.2-3) that otherwise would not. And, I am methodically testing them and finding almost all of them play the same or better with Vulkan and OpenGL instead of DirectX. I'm starting with older titles. Here are the titles that all work fine thus far... no discernible difference than playing on Windows, even with my pathetic K1100M graphics in the HP ZBook 15. And, I am using the same Steam library folders as Windows, LOL.

Very nice. It definitely seems, for people that have the appetite for it, Windows 10's days might be numbered for some of us.

I'm running off a 620 iGPU until I get around to getting an eGPU and I've actually been pleasantly surprised how many games I can play comfortably while plumbing my massive backlog for stuff I haven't dug into much. It's been pretty fun actually working within some constraints.

People actually play games on this forum? I am genuinely surprised, I thought this forum was all about old people getting enjoyment out of hating on very specific game companies all day and all night. Kinda like /r/the_donald subreddit, but about game companies ;-)

This is actually a very good game. The singleplayer had pretty good story (not very original but still good, really made you care for your Titan buddy) and multiplayer was more fun than the first one. Too bad it became less popular very quickly. I bought both of them, the first Titanfall had awesome statue with Collector's Edition (I have it) and the second one didn't have anything impressive in Collector's Edition so I just got a regular version instead.

I didn't really care about the MP, but the SP game was better than I expected. It only took me like 9 hours to finish it, but truthfully I don't really mind sometimes those 50-60 hour games are a bit much. I think it pretty well told everything it needed to in that 9 hours. If they make a 3rd one Spoiler:
they seemed to hint with the binary coded message in the helmet at the end that BT is still "alive"
, so if they make a 3rd one I'll buy it. I might wait for a sale though as $60 is a bit much to plunk down if I'm not going to play the MP part of the game. Also Spoiler I guess, has this expired on this game yet.. it's what 3 years old? I guess with the amount of games released these days and the sheer length of my backlog spoiler territory lasts a long time these days. :)
I really liked the time travel device levels, that was pretty interesting puzzles.
