Been throwing a lot of Insurgency Sandstorm co-op in the mix lately.
Quite enjoy the character customization aspect as well as well. Not a lot of games let you play as a gopnik.

A bit of TW3 maxed out on my brand new RTX2070S.
That sweet sweet FPS *drools* -

Just curious, when TW3 is maxed out including all the HairWorks options, what’s your lowest FPS drop when Geralt is up against the wall and you move the camera so the back of this head and hair completely fill the screen?
And what about performance around Hierarch Square in Novigrad? -
Been playing ace combat 7, really enjoy the return to form for this ip. The added dimensions over the ps2 Era were a healthy surprise one I didn't expect was lightning storms and shifts in the wind knocking your plane out of your desired path. The story is also of course welcomed, still working my way through it but I wouldn't be surprised if I boot up the emulator and get going on the ps2 installments again after.

IDK, I don't have any FPS counters enabled to check FPS (I could add TW3 exe to Steam and launch it from there I guess, though I don't much care), but it doesn't seem to drop below 60 FPS (have it locked). Or maybe I'm doing it wrong.
I can definitely feel some small stutters in that area, so the system has trouble keeping up 60 FPS. Outside of that area I also get an odd stutter here or there, but nothing critical.
Also made a short flight in F-14B in DCS. I can finally use this plane. Before it was a stutter fest...
Now I have to wait until I upgrade entire system and get 32 GBs of RAM. Multiplayer shenanigans here I come!
Otherwise I can't complain much about 970. Despite all the things nVidia tried to do to cripple the card, it was a pretty good product, and it served me well for 4,5 years. I definitely got my money's worth out of it, and to be honest it's still good for med/high gaming on 1200p, but the time has come for me to move on...yrekabakery likes this. -
If memory serves me correctly most people were able to work around it even when hitting the vram cap by using an old ssd as a dedicated cache drive. At least that's what I remember from when I used to surf ocn.

If you are talking about DCS MP - it's not VRAM, it's RAM. I crash on loading to the server. My RAM goes up to like 15,7 GBs used or something and then boom.
I guess I could increase page file some more, but then I will probably get stutters, unless I drop some settings, which I don't want to.
For the time being I'm fine with screwing around in Baguette or Bug in SP

Got myself an Oculus Quest and been keeping myself busy with SuperHot and Beat Saber, about to try Vader Immortal. Loving the experience so far. I'm excited to plug my Quest into my laptop when the Oculus Link comes out in November and try some SteamVR games on it.
I'm also looking forward to the Control DLC coming out for PC later this year. Other than Control, there isn't much else in the way of PC games holding my interest at the moment, so I'm glad the Quest is keeping me busy.
Except there's also The Outer Worlds. Seriously considering giving that a buy, but holding off for now at least. Curious what others think of it. -
I have the game pass for PC so I have it from the MS Store. I haven't gotten very far yet, but I'm liking what I see to this point. Just as expected the mechanics are VERY Bethesda FP-RPG. The writing, chars, and voice acting are some of the high points. It also doesn't hurt that it's colorful and not all drab browns and greys. I will say without a doubt it's nice to play a Bethesda style RPG and NOT have those same people doing most of the voice acting. Everyone knows the voice actors I'm referencing.
You can see where its DNA is, but it definitely has a style all it's own. If a Bethesda style RPG sitting in a Firefly-ish wrapper sounds appealing to you it's worth picking it up.Prototime likes this. -
Playing The Surge 2 now. Game is a huge improvement over the first and a ton of fun.

We should fly sometime. I love the f14 module, having fun with the f16 right now also.
I actually just bought the new COD MW. First COD game i bought since the original very first modern warfare. I have been playing COD2 online with some old clan buddies for years. New COD MW because F! Dice and this BF1/V crap... AND i am actually having a BLAST with the new MW... -

Sure, why not, would be open to some casual flying once I upgrade my PC. PvP not so much, as I haven't played it yet

The jedi fallen game and tbh it's only about a 6 or 7(for star wars buffs). It's very buggy like falling through the ground buggy getting stuck in geometry etc, clunky combat with lag, tomb raider like but harder bc of the lag, buggy movement animations etc. A lot of "this door is sealed from other side" or "you need to get x or fix x to use this" type of filler, backtracking filler. A lot of 90's/mario/sonic cartoony type of stuff like sliding, jump to boingy platforms in the form of plants etc Cinematics stuff esp first part to impress the reviewers who played maybe first or second world only.
I think there's a lot of paid for via ad buys reviews and fake marketing company reviews that get it up to a 9 or 10 bc it's not that for sure. It's like remnant ashes level of game(AA) but not as optimized. No way to go lower than "medium" on settings, no aa control, no ambient occlusion control, blurry aa, long loading times. On lowest besides shadows settings (which I had to do in an inf file), aa off, 75% res scale, etc I get only around 45fps w huge drops here and there lots of stutter in places, this is on 768p. I'm not a star wars buff so that doesn't come into the scoring for me. 40$ or less game.Last edited: Nov 24, 2019joluke likes this. -

Yeah no worries man I was reading the rabid reviews and was wondering if we were playing the same game lol, (steam mostly), metacritic has some real reviews though, even that is too high overall. Most people do not realize the power/coordination of the marketing machine which includes gaming sites, manufacturers and developer proxy paid reviewers etc
The qualifier buzzword to look out for is "the best STAR WARS game...." so I guess in terms of SW games it probably is up there idk last one I played was KOTOR. Some are even saying GOTY which is utter nonsense, those have to be paid reviews. For me it would be RE2 remake maybe Sekiro but once I play RDR2 it'll most likely be that for PC. BL3 isn't too bad either but just more of the same BL or like a large BL2 expansion. Exodus too buggy and linear. I could see disco elysium but it wasn't for me and I'm offline single player only so no input for online mp stuff. Control was fun but no replay value/expansions, love remedy though.
JFO is fun but it's not 60$ 8/9/10 out of 10 fun, sale item after patches. You could get better perf only by having a rig that overpowers it but I've heard that 1440p+ is actually more buggy/stutter and larger fps drops like 144fps to 30fps, wow.joluke likes this. -

Had to quit Jedi Fallen Order, I got to a place coming out of origin tree level and the rope zipline thing would not activate to pull me out of the area to the next one(from yt videos), it's a really bugged game. There's no fast travel to get anywhere in this game, only the last save magic circle right there so no way past the bug for me I'm stuck permanently, really terrible level design in many places too you have no indication of where to go and there's no in game live marker or way to highlight the path needed, games a 2 for me now from a 6 or 7, garbage. Had to watch a lot of yt videos, another indication of bad design. From videos I got about half way to 3/4 through. 50GB installed for this garbage going shortly. Again to save yourself a LOT of frustration if you want it ,wait a month or two or when it's 40 or less.
EDIT: alternate solution is dl a 100% savegame uploaded to gamecopyworld maybe it unlocks levels, I'll give it a try. Tried it it does have free roam after the story but as far as the story I'm done, can run through the other two levels/worlds though. Done, uninstall.Last edited: Nov 27, 2019joluke likes this. -
Going through Deus Ex: Mankind Divided with all DLCs this time.
If I had to choose one game (series), this would be it. I'm a sucker for sci-fi, high tech augmentations, stealth games, plausible dystopian future stories. I love everything about this series. -

I like Deus Ex series, original game was one of my favorite RPG games. DX:HR was also great. Mankind Divided was pretty meh - too short and too preachy. Would be nice to see continuation but perhaps made by different team of developers.
This fan movie was also great:

FFXIV is all about great music (the variety of excellent soundtracks unmatched by any other MMORPG game), great story (past lvl50 MSQs) and dressing up in fancy outfits to make screenshots and doing RP with your friends ;-) If you are not into any of that - then this game will not be for you (PvE fights are as boring as with any other MMORPG, same goes for instanced PvP and crafting).
TL;DR: FFXIV is about this:
And that (story and music):
Nothing else ;-) -
Same.
I even played through it once more earlier this year. That's an almost 20 years old game and I thoroughly enjoyed it, not once I was bothered by the graphics.
Honestly I had forgotten most of it and I was just amazed of the size and sheer number of the levels. With the bar set that high, yes, Human Revolution is very short but I have some hopes of longevity with the two DLCs which are new to me.
Fun fact: I've been watching The Expanse series (after reading the books by James SA Corey) and in the first season there's a character played by the dude who voice acted Adam Jensen. It was amazing how suddenly he was so familiar. Love that voice. -
DEHR is one of my favs, DEMD was good but not too memorable for me, didn't it end on some cliffhanger ending and the developer said it will be years before they get back to it, if ever? Can't remember it too much tbh, whereas HR I played through a few times with the dlc. Just finished Dying Light EE w the Following and there's a great game.

I'm still making my way through Divinity:OS2 as the Red Prince.

Reinstalled Crysis 3 and it amazes me how good looking that game is even compared to current games at the same resolution and settings, blows me away. I don't find modern games any better at the resolutions I play at, not much progress imo just RT marketing gimmicks. Ofc it's terribly optimized and my laptop sounds like a jet engine most of the time but it's still 60fps+ vsync locked, no vsync it's 80-100+ fps. Playing "old" games like Dying Light and Crysis 3 after JFO is such a stark reminder of how progress isn't always linear or even in the "better" direction.
-
Love Crysis 3. One of my all-time favorites. Actually, anything in the Crysis franchise is awesome.JRE84 likes this.

just got shenmue 3 its awful for a modern game but if your looking for a continuation of the series its super solid...graphics are not bad but not great either but the interaction and fun factor are ....
As for crysis I have yet to get sick of crysis 1 and warhead...been playing it for 10 or so years and it never gets old. graphics are out of this world and I cannot believe this game is 12 years old -
Still playing monster hunter world and overwatch.

GoW (original), GoW4 and Gears 5 are both awesome games, but I play them all on PC. Nice to see Gears 5 released on Steam so it's not UWP trash from Micro$lop Store. Wish they would have done that with GoW4.
-
I forgot about Gears lol my bad I meant God of War 4, too many GoWs these days eh?
Gears is an Xbox game originally right? I cant remember which one I played but I did enjoy it, probably 360?Mr. Fox likes this. -
Doh! Sorry, I should have connected the dots you meant God of War, since you said PS4. I am not sure Gears is even available on PlayStation. I think it is probably XBOX and Windows only.
Yes, it was originally released on XBOX and Windows Vista. From then until GoW4 it was only on XBOX, no PC version. I don't do consoles, so I did not play any of the Gears games in between, but I loved the original version for Vista and modded it to make it a "portable" game (and still have it). The original Vista version was re-released as "Gears of War Ultimate Edition" for Windows 10. GoW4 and Gears 5 are excellent. -
I remember when the first gears of war came out for pc, what a trainwreck that they never fixed fully I don't think, lots of hacks to get that working, I did get through it and it rocked. Locked out of last two Gears bc of OS, probably a good thing for my "real life" lol Probably hit up Crysis 2 or warhead after 3, played em all at one time but don't remember a whole lot, Crysis 1 I think I'll skip seems a bit too old lol
Edit: scratch that last bit I confused crysis 1 w far cry 1, that's too old and corny, ok I'm down w crysis 1 again.Last edited: Dec 2, 2019Mr. Fox likes this. -

CODWWII improved a lot over the BO3 SP campaign but a huge wreck in terms of censorship drama and downgraded campaign experience with kiddo impact. No wonder they are targeting them so the narration takes a huge hit. Also no Eastern Front a big shame I miss those old days of COD with MW1 and 2.
After playing DMC5 - Fantastic game which absolutely beats GoW Reboot by a huge margin esp in the Boss fights and Japanese character design and soundtrack with the new RE Engine smoking all of them out there and RE2 (Just started with mods) Plus I want to mention that this game is free of any political agenda drivel like Wolfenstien which bombed hard when they destroyed BJ and killed the series. Also on the side I'm playing Brutal DOOM by Sgt on GZDoom and it's flatout insane. Shame that DOOM 2016 didn't get mod support else we would have the best maps and creations ever.
Waited for so many years to see Halo happening on PC and with today I bought Halo MCC - Reach and guess what ? the game says Anti Cheat won't work if you have Driver Signing Enforcement disabled. This is PURE BS. I didn't like supporting M$ because they tied this game to XBox Live Accnt DRM system and with this it's a shame, Also Steam reviews are mentioning trash audio and horrid controls with bad UI (new UI in game or menu I dunno) and the FPS feel itself. Plus bad FPS on even a 1080Ti GPUs, another messy trashcan port from M$ these days it's the norm when they focus on those console boxes Plus Agile adds icing on the top like Pig with a Lipstick (RDR2 / COD MW Reboot)Last edited: Dec 3, 2019 -

Halo: Reach on PC. As a Halo fanboy who’s never owned an Xbox and have been deprived of Halo for over a decade, I just can’t wipe the stupid grin off my face right now.
-
Started Halo Reach but I don't get it, it's fun but what I imagine those online killathon games are like, just constant go and blasting. I was never a big halo player though bc I only ever got an xbox for GTA4 when it first came out then sold it after. Played the original halo on pc years ago. I could totally understand if you grew up w it and played w friends though. Like Crysis 1 too and that is just too old game design and controls like the halo game. The default control scheme is not really what the default is for games like it either, they could have updated that.
-
I was never really a huge Halo fan either, I played the first and maybe second one. I'm really just playing it because it was there on game pass.

GTAV lol, ironically it's a relax game for me, I only ever ride a bicycle and explore the map it's so detailed and in the sp mostly not used much so there's a lot in the map you won't notice if you only do the campaign.
INFRA one of my all time favorites it's so peaceful and environmental puzzles/visual puzzles. If you look it up there's even an esoteric story w codes/numbers spread around the game.
Just re-played through RE2 remake except w the claire katz mod, look it up it's really pretty nice lol makes the game much more interesting on a replay.joluke likes this. -
