I finally finished D:OS2 the other day. I had a save right before beating the final battle so I reloaded it a few times to see different end choices. Not sure it was totally worth it outside of nabbing a couple achievements (I really care nothing for achievements). Not really worth time time IMO as it just changes a few things that get explained. Maybe finish the game with the choice you like the best in the case it imports these decisions into the next Divinity.
SPOILER ALERT:
I like how Tarquin's story is he found this parallel dimension and hops to it.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let Tarquin exist in Baldur's Gate 3. How glorious that would be.
I started to continue my run through Metro:Exodus but then set that aside again because I never played Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. I'm pretty far into that now and it's a PHENOMENAL game. Can't wait for the sequel that was the BEST trailer by far of the Game Awards show. I love Heilung, though, so I might be biased.killkenny1 likes this. -
Going through LA Noire and it's pretty good, story focused and I'm a big noire fan too. There are some aspects that are too formulaic like the chases. I'm not the best at reading faces either, seems a bit luck of the draw most times. Exploring seems a no go at least where I am in the game bc your partner is always with you.
Did a new playthrough of Alan Wake American Nightmare, which is fun since I love AW but it is really short and only 3 levels, seems to have less of the constant flashes as AW which after an hour or two really gives my eyes problems/headache. And I really don't like the cinematic presentation of every time enemies load in, just let me play for Gods sake! Takes camera control away too much, disorienting.
Was also playing metro exodus but got a crash and haven't been back. I could barely play the first two bc of so many crashes even the redux versions over multiple pc's and game versions. I think I got through the second one at some point but there's a point in one of them, the prison escape, where it just would not go forward, it would always crash. It's like do I need more of the crashes, it's not fun.TR2N likes this. -
Hellblade is a diamond in the rough that I stumbled upon after going through my queue for 3 hours. Watched a trailer and thought to myself, there could be something here beyond blah blah blah hack and slash blah blah blah.
The combat is so simple yet so rediculously satisfying, heightened by the game wasting little time to tell you, you suck you lose the whole game. This is accentuated with no game saves, you progress from where you are and that's it. You want to play a specific sequence? Too bad, play the whole thing.
I have no idea who the musicians are for the new trailer but I thoroughly enjoyed it regardless. I can only pray there will be a pc release.
Modded mass effect 2 used to be my "nothing else to play so I'll play this" title and hellblade has for about a year or two now taken that mantle. -
Personally,
IMHO Rockstar games is the best game studio ever made period! -

A bit of Pillars Of Eternity.
Just like DOS2, been playing this on and off during the years. But damn, quests are good in this one, just finished Blood Legacy quest, what a ride. -
Nice, I finished that a while back it was pretty good end to end.killkenny1 likes this.

Can't believe last time I played PoE was two and a half years ago... And started my playthrough almost five years ago... Even had my pet lion named after a certain NBR forum member with unamused cat avatar
PoE is a great game with amazing world, characters, stories and quests, but gameplay was not to my liking. Real time pause gameplay is a bit too chaotic to my liking in a party game. It's ok smaller scale, but for 7 party members it's too much micro management. I know you can set up AI actions, but again, you need to spend a lot of time to properly set it up.
At the time PoE came out there was also first DOS (which I also didn't finish
), and I liked combat there more, but story and world building less. When DOS2 came out, it was a pretty much perfect game. Now that PoE 2 has TBS mode as well, once I finish PoE and move on to it, I think I will go with TBS mode. Though I did try Tyranny a bit, I think real time combat there feels somehow better than PoE. I also like Tyranny's lore a lot, actually probably more than PoE and DOS.

This reminds me I'm part way through Pathfinder, I think I'll play that tonight.killkenny1 likes this.

Is it any g...
No, no, first gotta finish ones I have! -
It's got some issues, probably best to stick with the obsidian ones.killkenny1 likes this.

I just bought Assassin's Creed Origins during current Winter sales.
I’m more towards first person shooter guy but this game is beyond my expectation!! AC Origins is so fun!!
Egypt and Bayek are awesome!! -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Back home to my "big" PC, so it's back to RDR2.
-
Modern Warfare, this game needs to go on a diet. A 175Gb download is bonkers.

Still after some of that sweet RDR2 action couldn't keep away from PoE.
@hfm I have a life and death question - which faction to side with, or is it possible not to side with anyone? -
Oh man, I don't remember many details it's been too long. Like 2 years or so.killkenny1 likes this.

That, or your decision was so bad you want to forget all about it

I played PoE with a friend of mine on Hardcore, during the bandit quest he chose different than me and we had to PVP battle to the death instead, lol.

You can play PoE in coop? Didn't know that.
Or are you talking about DOS? -
I bought Control using the $10 egs coupon. Great game so far love it. I also grabbed Outward with another $10 coupon but I probably won't try that until I finish Control and Hellblade
-
We're talking about PoE=Path Of Exile, right? lol

Well in one of the posts on page 281 I did mention it by full name.
And there was a clear communication between me and hfm about the game
-
I got Outward to play coop with the wife. The game itself is great, but the map being broken up, with travel points to and fro the different biome sections, really killed the whole exploration vibe for me, which is a shame since that's really the whole point of the game.

Just beat Halo: Reach. Thinking about it, this is the first “new” game I’ve completed in I don’t know how long.
Was also plodding through Shenmue III but ultimately gave up because it is an absolute chore. The need to micro manage your health, money, and kung fu skills constantly gets in the way of moving the story forward.

Just finishing up LA Noire, pretty fun game if you like slower, more cerebral games, kinda frustrating interviewing mechanic as it's kinda unpredictable what he'll say in relation to your choice. Phelps also comes across as way too accusatory when asking questions, good way to alienate people you're trying to get information from. I like that after the main story you can do each case separately again to get a better score and the small side missions. If you don't do the collectibles stuff, which I have no interest in, it's around 30 hours w all side missions.
Was thinking of getting outer wilds as it's eurogamers GOTY, for a second I read outer worlds and was like wtf? lol. Oworlds is a good game but not GOTY level. Replaying Far Cry 3 too. -

I have this on Switch. Got past the first set of cases but stopped once Halo: MCC was released on PC. The game looks and runs really well, which is an impressive technical achievement since the platform is little more than a glorified NVIDIA Shield tablet.

I decided to fire up the tutorial, didn't finish it but I got a little ways into it. I like what I see so far, though it's nagging that side of me that likes to just pick up everything not nailed down. Interesting choices to be made there.
-
It's not a bad game at all. If it was just one open world though, I would've undoubtedly poured many many more hours into it.hfm likes this.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. So far, I'm rather bored with it...

I'm REALLY liking Control. Even though I didn't actually finish it in 2019 I'm going to retroactively give it my GOTY nod for the games I played.

Control was a good game, I love Remedy they're so creative and atmospheric games, max payne 2, alan wake etc There wasn't a whole lot else to do after finishing main quest though but I may have missed the subtle minigames that remedy puts in there. Far cry 3 replay, fun but in a replay the open world doesn't add much and certainly not interested in climbing radio towers lol

They recently released free DLC that adds some really challenging post-game content. I'm still trying to beat it.hfm likes this.

I'm just getting into the endgame I think... it's always hard to tell with Remedy games. Without giving anything away that one surreal sequence was awesome.
I might have to play Alan Wake: American Nightmare after this, I never played it after beating the first game. -
I thought the dlc for control was just a timed mission kinda like raid mode for RER2? Didn't seem worth a reinstall tbh, juggling limited space on my laptop. Maybe worth a youtube video to see though.
American Nightmare is fun but very short and only has 3 levels, playing wise it's better weapons and movement, not worth too much get it very cheap if you can. -
I own it, just never played it. Like most of my games.

Started Disco Elysium.
Damn this is an RPG players RPG, caught me off guard at first.
I'm not very far but it seems brilliant.hfm likes this. -

Red Dead Onl... nope! Played it for a bit, looks suspiciously like GTAO, went back RDR2 instead.

I found Control rather... boring and repetitive. -
Yeah, really. It didn't overstay it's welcome, and I really liked the story premise and inventive design.
-
re7 on and off lately, awesome game and immersive with first person but it does get frustrating at times with the first dude that won't die until later, sucks how slow the player is to get up, reload, shoot, etc and this guy beating the shrt out of you so much. Not as fun as the earlier re's that were more bubblegum stuff less serious, re7 is pretty heavy adult compared to the other ones.

I play Strat-O-Matic Football and enjoy the H2H aspect of the game but the graphics are ancient. I was wondering what other sports simulation games people like.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Finishing up RDR2 with occasional Insurgency Sandstorm co-op.
-
Is that Jim Zorn? hah NICE..
I used to love Super Bowl Sunday on the C64. Not quite the same, but Namath to Maynard was unstoppable in that game.
It's not quite realistic, but have you tried Blood Bowl II? It's a rather strategic football-inspired game.
I've never tried Pro Strategy Football, but I've always wanted to: https://store.steampowered.com/app/765560/Pro_Strategy_Football_2018/ -
Yup, that's Jimmy Z, first QB for my Seahawks. I will check out those titles. Pro Football Strategy seems right up my alley.
What game are you playing now?
