Played somewhat in different order City, Akham Asylum and Knight. I got a sweet deal on steam India for 6$ + Taxes/VAT.

Probably no real downsides in mixing up the order. In my case I'm sticking to Asylum as I had already started it when posting but I did already play this a long time ago and the memories come back as I play... probably won't take me too long to finish it. Now at the point where I found Dr Young's notes.

We'll see after this which one will follow.

Got back into rfactor 1 after a few years, base game is minimal but the mods are incredible. It's like a base for making your own racing game with mods which are free. Nowhere else can you find classic F1 and indycar and other series as well as old and new tracks from all over. Only uses one core which is annoying, 100% usage.

Saw that rfactor 2 is way bigger base file size if probably everything else is better, ui, graphics, not sure about mods for rf2 though. Once you add on the mods it would take up even more space. I have hundreds of cars and tracks installed in RF1 for about 20gb, who cares about the track graphics being from a few years ago. Some of the trackpacks are from 2018+. Mods a bit of a pain to find now but I've found tons and more importantly what I was looking for.

Was thinking of reinstalling Grand Prix Legends which I still have, and a few of the update mods but I'm normally just a casual player and that game is hardcore no doubt. Rf1 has a cars and trackpack for the same 1967 season too.

Good luck, I have like 216h in AC:Odyssey and I still have an entire new area of one of the DLC I'm just starting and still a number of question marks floating in the main world.

What are you doing there lol. You sure take you sweet time.
Then again, it took me ~180h to finish it and all DLC + explore each nook and cranny.
Good game though. I enjoyed it much more than Valhalla.

I'm pretty sure there's some hours spent just idling on menus and I do like to just tool around the world sometimes, it's definitely a beautiful game.

This reminded me of Ghost Recon Wildlands. Loved that game and got so far in it, took my time with side quests and stopped playing when I got to that Predator easter egg sort of mission. Couldn't kill it for the life of me. His stupid homing shots got me eventually every time.

    Love Batman Arkham knight.
This is permanently installed on all my gaming machines.

Hmmm think I might try Ghost Recon Wildlands. Have not played that yet.
    Thank you

Just finished Arkham Asylum. Brought me back some real nice memories while it still felt quite fresh as I had forgotten most of it since way back when it came out. I loved the atmosphere, level design and variety. While short, I never had a boring section, either progressing the story or hunting for secrets.

The boss fights were ok but somewhat disappointing and by disappointing I mean a little too easy. I'm not asking for throw-the-controller-dark-souls-hard, just maybe a little more ...involvement. You have to love how the game builds up the suspense for the Killer Croc fight right from the start and it ends up being the easiest "boss" fights of them all. The devs must have had a good chuckle about trolling the players like this.

Anywho... I won't stick to the mentioned order, I'm downloading Arkham Knight now. This is completely new to me, never got the chance to play it.

Hm maybe I'll give it a go again it's been a while since I fired that one up. Knight should give you more challenge for sure, trying to play it KeyboardMouse is a pain with the batmobile imo, better with a gamepad. Even with that there's a boss you have to fight in the BM and it made me quit for a while.

So far I'm having a lot of fun with this. Kinda used to mouse and keyboard but if needed later I can try a gamepad. Combat with the batmobile doesn't feel too difficult, aiming with the mouse seems to help, but I'm still very early (just finished the mission to disarm the bomb and save some scientists).

I think I liked the more confined feeling from Asylum but flying from rooftop to rooftop and having a whole map as a playground is great.

Yeah I like the semi open map too, City is actually my favorite but Knight is good too just not a fan of the forced batmobile use in a lot of places. I also wished that you could turn off the street npc banter, it's cool at first but once you've played for a while it gets really old.

PS Just wanted to put a note here about how this whole site will be discontinued on jan 31, terrible news. Not sure where else there would be a casual place to discuss games. See the off topic and general notices section for more info.

There are a few of the really old timers(in length of membership lol) trying to come up with something and the mods have tried to get the option to buy the forum with no luck. I'd look at the off topic section "where to go now" thread.

Yeah I think the mods should have posted that vital info in every major section and pinned it but it's only in the site announcements section. Who knows who are members here maybe someone has some real pull, means of publicity or was looking to start their own forum etc or who has the expertise. Perhaps spamming the site owners emails/social links would help to get some attention as well. Can't imagine this being feasible via reddit which archives stuff, has an annoying structure and I just never liked it :)

I think reddit just embraced the duplication of topics, probably at their scale it was also easier to time limit contributing to topics. I mean lets get real, everyone gets angry in the Steam forums when you necro a thread about something, I do it just to avoid creating yet another thread about the same thing and people still get trollishly angry about it. Reddit probably was like, well people are going to create the same damn topic about this all the time because no one does any searching or research so.. lets just embrace it whatever..

As far as this place I probably have the resources for it but quite honestly I don't think I'd enjoy running it.

Really hope we don't end up on reddit (or discord). Neither are very user friendly and efficient places.

I don't know what it takes to run a forum like this or what resources are required but surely it can't be that difficult to choose a domain, export/import the db from here and just move there. I'm sure if $ is the blocking factor, there would be enough of us here willing to pay...

Kinda has that lame duck feel around here; it seems we will go quietly into the night. I looked at my profile and as it turns out I've been here since 09 which isn't as long as some but long enough to miss this place. ☹️
