Moved on to a replay of Automata and it's fantastic this time through, Replicant does give some nice background for sure, they should have released the updated Replicant before Automata imo. Automatas graphics seem a lot better than I remember them from back when, might just be my oldies playing lately though.

Have you tried MMOD?
If it isn't your first playthrough of HL2 I suggest trying out MMOD. Makes a few changes, which I think improves the overall gameplay, while keeping most of the original game intact.unlogic likes this. -
Thanks for your recommendation! Just installed it. Wow, the gunplay feels faster, tighter and meatier just like Doom or Rage 2! l simply love it!
Between Half-Life 2 OG and Half-Life 2: Update, any different when use together this MMOD?killkenny1 likes this. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Honestly, no idea. There is a version for both OG HL2 and HL2 Update, so I'm guessing it is for compatibility.unlogic likes this. -
Psychonauts 2, fun little game like watching a clever cartoon. Has it's share of obtuse moments that I wish would be explained better, breaks the flow for me. It's light on actual hands on gameplay though so just a here and there game for me.

Paused Back 4 Blood for now, started Forza Horizon 5 a few days ago and been playing it since. Maxed out settings... still buggy online play and occasional crashing here and there but game looks good!

Myself I'm back to Forza Horizon 4 between my games of...ehem...Horizon Zero Dawn.
-
Well, Battlefield 2042

Dead cells, hyperlight drifter, hollow knight all replays, need low impact 2d game besides the emulator classics I've played to death.

I played through that a while back, it was pretty good, not interested in it again though. I'm enjoying Hollow Knight since it's been a couple years or so since my last playthrough. Was looking at spelunky 2 and noita.hfm likes this.

I'm also a big fan of all Just Cause games. I think 3 may have been my favorite too.
On the other hand, I've now started JC 4 two times and only got about half way through the story when something else comes up and I lose interest... it has to be something with the game that's not balanced/quite right... or I'm just crazy... -
Fired up metal gear ground zeroes still the best part of the V saga, focused detailed map with lots of enemies rather then the large empty world of TPP. It's only like 3gb installed too, looks good a lot better than a lot of newer games. Wish konami would pull their head out and do a full remake of 2/3 for pc/next gen consoles.
-
I played 2 and 4 but never played 3. I wouldn't mind a release of 3.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider got a DLSS upgrade, so I'm playing that right now.
Also recently finished Sleeping Dogs for the third time, gonna give it a break and then continue with story DLC. Man, those environmental finishes are brutal!TR2N likes this. -
I've been playing a lot of OG Doom total conversion mods; currently about to finish one that converts the game into The Legend of Zelda; Blood is a game I'm aiming to pick up sometime in the near future.
-
Yeah it was on ps2 and also 3ds, pretty neat 3d effect if worse controls. There are probably some legal reason as to why they don't remake a lot of stuff that would sell like hot cakes.

Started Griftlands yesterday, man this is a good take on the Slay the Spire blueprint. I love the mechanic of being able to win conversations to bypass or give yourself advantages in the fights and maintaining two separate decks.
This is my favorite riff on the StS formula for sure.hfm likes this. -
I was reading the store page for that one yesterday. going to try out the demo this weekend.

It's really cool. Instead of just being a combat gauntlet like most games, you get the option to "fight" via Negotiations instead with a completely different deck, which uses Influence, Domination, and Manipulation cards.
Sometimes you use them to completely bypass combat, others you can get someone to leave the enemies side so you fight less people, get them to switch sides to fight with you instead, or convince someone to come along with you on a mission, etc.hfm likes this. -
Sable which is very chill and mostly exploration no combat so far kinda nice, cool art style. Climbing and other things pretty similar to BOTW. Also Deaths Door an iso adventure.

I’m playing Call Of Juarez Gunslinger. Very fun!
Free on Steam right now!hertzian56 and Atma like this. -
Yeah a great game loved it, glad to see it getting the free treatment so more people can enjoy it, hopefully get more of the COJ series made.

Finished Rise of the Tomb Raider (for the third time
), now it's time to move on tom the Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
-
more metroidvanias. Ender Lillies and Grime are both pretty cool with the gold standards being hollow knight imo and dead cells both all time favs. Hob is a light 3d adventure for casual play while watching something.

Monday...
Didn't realize Ready Or Not was released in Early Access. After watching a few Youtube videos decided to get it. It's basically SWAT4, which is a great thing.
I'm also quite rusty at it after years of not practicing. -

First online game with randoms went as expected...

Still plugging away at AC: Odyssey.. man what a huge and beautifully crafted game. I still haven't uncovered but maybe 60% of the map. Playing through both this and Origins this year has been a treat.

Deaths Gambit a really cool souls/metroidvania with beautiful pixel graphics. Blasphemous is similar but has terrible mechanics making it too much of a chore to play for too long a sitting. It's also not very colorful, muted darker color palette used which is appropriate but doesn't draw me in as much as dgambit/dead cells do.
-
Just finished Crysis for the nth time and now replaying Cyberpunk but already bored of it so looks like a quick uninstall.
-
I'm only revisiting CP2077 if they release substantial new content for it. I wrung it dry on the first playthrough, I think the literal only thing I didn't do was grind enough eddies to buy all the vehicles, I got most of the them I think.TR2N and killkenny1 like this.

Ditto. I also played the beginning of every lifepath. But will wait for new content/features before doing a second playthrough. -
Which version do you recommend?
-
I have all of them now in the new engine, I think I'm going to pick it back up as I never played any of the reboots the last few years and I only did the first mission in "Hitman reboot in Hitman 3 engine". As soon as I finish AC:Odyssey. Finished the "main story" but frankly I'm more interested to find out who the Ghost of Kosmos is. My initial hunch at who I thought it was turned out to be wrong lol due to game events that have transpired. I only have maybe 10 cultists left to kill.

Just finishing up Unsighted, a pixel graphic zelda like, hopefully some story dlc down the road. Totally recommended. Great for watching something else while playing, little to no fan noise if you're watching on a second screen.
A bit of the new maps in theHunter COW, Bayou and Mexico/desert maps. Buggy as usual, told to find alligator need zone to continue the story part and after finding several, story does not update/progress. These maps are each GTAV size roughly so to keep finding need zones takes a lot of time and it's not the most interesting/beautiful map by far. The Mexico desert map is a beautiful setting but no unique, exotic animals to speak of and the story is brief and not too interesting but at least it worked. As per every add on map after 2019, no side missions and a shallow main story line, not as unique/pretty location. Alligators/crocs should have been in the Africa map in 2018.
I wouldn't recommend any maps past the Yukon/Alaska one from 2019 as a buy unless the location has some specific meaning/hook for you. The first two maps are still the best, Layton Lakes(Oregon/PNW) and Hirschfielden(Germany/Europe forests) with the most interesting beautiful(to me) nature and longer main missions with lots of side missions. The Africa map has a pretty interesting story and Lions(no zebras or elephants though). The Yukon map is amazing with grizz, moose, wolves etc and periods of snowfall/cover, a must have. Siberian map is a winter all the time map that's also pretty good. Again it would be hard to go wrong with any add on maps 2019 and before. There are I think 11 total maps so far, 9 are dlc.TR2N likes this. -
Do you guys find yourselves in times when you'd really like to play something but nothing really excites you from the selection at hand...
We just came back from a 2 week long trip and I couldn't wait to get back to resume my gaming addiction but now I'm looking at my desktop and I just don't feel like firing up any of these. These are all games I really like and enjoyed playing not long ago...
Any other notable new releases out there?TR2N likes this. -
Got it! Had a light bulb moment last night, I've been wanting to revisit some of the Batman games for a long time now. Started Arkham Asylum and it's a lot of fun. Knight and City will probably keep me busy until Dying Light 2 comes out.

Add on Origins and you've probably got until the first patch for DL2

Right forgot about Origins. Which is the correct order, City - Origins - Knight?Vasudev and hertzian56 like this.

Most do forget, it's not as good as the top level trilogy. I would think origins is first. Kind of buggy though, I haven't been back to it since I got a bug that broke it couldn't continue.cucubits likes this.
