I remember playing X-wing when the Intel DX chips where still mainstream and the Pentium chips were just coming out. I would absolutely love to see a remake of it.

Haven't read the entire thread but even if it was mentioned, I think Age of Empires 1 and 2 should get a makeover, simply because they were trendsetters in their genre.

Space rangers just got a quasi-remake that launched on steam yesterday.

I would like to see Halo: Combat Evolved remade (improved, etc.). None of the ODST and crap, I'm talking about the original Halo series that I grew up playing.

Worlds Of Ultima: Savage Empire is a game I'd love to see remade. The world interactivity and depth is really quite impressive, even all these years later.

Hey Halo PC wasn't that bad. :p I played hundreds of hours of it back in the day.

But to answer your question, there's a total Halo 1 campaign remake called SPv3 currently being done by a group called CMT (Custom Map Team) comprised of the best Halo PC modders . It's for Halo Custom Edition and they've already completed their first level, a total remake of The Truth and Reconciliation. It's a total conversion with not just new assets and greatly improved graphics (on the level of Halo 3 and Halo 4) but also brand new content like VISR (Predator Vision), new enemies like Brutes, new enemy behavior and AI, new weapons, and more. I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already done so:

Unfortunately, this is the only level of SPv3 that's been released so far, and there hasn't been anything new in over a year as it has been really slow going for the team. Still, I've got time and I'll patiently wait for more maps. More information about it all here:

Custom Map Team - Halomods Community Portal

Release! - CMT Spv3 - The Truth and Reconciliation - Halomods Community Portal

This is the closest thing we'll ever get to a remake, because the fact is M$ and 343i will never bring Halo back to the PC again. It will be Xbox-exclusive forever.

Yep it's called Halo Anniversary and it's only for Xbox 360. I've played it and it's just Halo 1 with shinier graphics. The SPv3 mod is a lot better, not to mention it's on PC and completely free for Halo PC owners, just like the million other great mods for Custom Edition.

It wasn't that I thought it was bad -- I loved it. I just want it remade with today's latest graphics engines, etc. while avoiding all of this new ODST and crappy storyline stuff.

Hmm... I'd like to see Ace Combat 3 remade for some current system, but it has to include the full storyline (North America got gimped while Japan had the full story).

I considered getting the original some time ago, before I realized that the NA version had so much less plot/content/etc than the JDM version, and that NA PS1/PS2 systems can't play JDM games (easily, at least).

If I get a 2DS/3DS, I'll surely pick up the Ace Combat 2 remake (Assault Horizons Legacy), and if the real Ace Combat 3 is ported over, fantastic. But so far, Bandai-Namco has been very, very disappointing when it comes with the series, starting when they released Assault Horizons and continuing with Infinite.

You should try out 4, 5, and Zero if you happen to have a PS2. Great games, great storyline, and plenty fun.

And 6 is basically Ace Combat on steroids with the amount of enemies/ammo/allies in missions.

I played X on the PSP last year and it was okay-ish.

Battlefield is so stale, DICE would be crazy to do Battlefield 5. The next game needs to be Bad Company 3 and it will have insane amounts of destruction and much more.

EA already said that they combined BF and BC into what BF is today. So no more BC.

Although I'm not sure why they removed all the destruction that was in BC2 when they should have left it in BF3.

Bumping for more gratuitous Halo pr0n. It's amazing what a 12-year-old engine can still do. Now I just want an entire game of this!

Well that's surprising considering with the release of BF3 they said BC was done, and they were looking to make it into TV series instead. Not sure what they can do with Bad Company considering it is primarily an infantry based shooter, but the characters for the single player campaign were better. Battlefield 5 will likely be BC3 but not sure how they can differentiate from the two now. They basically merged most of the tech and gameplay from BC2 into BF3.

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/14/e3-2013-dice-has-no-bandwidth-for-battlefield-bad-company-3

" We merged the Battlefield main game with Bad Company," Bach explained. "And we’ll continue to do it. I won’t say we’ll never build another Bad Company game, but right now we’re focusing on Battlefield 4.

It sounds to me like a lot of teasing for the sake of teasing just so they don't have to say no. If it's not even on the books yet then it will be quite some time before it gets implemented (like 5 years). But again, not sure what they could do to differentiate the two now. BC and BC2 were a good stop gap to BF3, but that's come and gone.

When you refer to a project with low recognizability like that, you might want to use the full name, and maybe provide a link. It's kind've like me referring to "Fingerprints" on the forum and expecting you to know that it's an EFL curriculum for 3-6 year-olds.

well with a simple google search it is the 3rd item....soo not that hard to figure out. since it is a game and the third item in a google search and it is actually a very popular HL mod. top 10. Now if i refered to Pokemod....i would assume no one would know it or if i referred to mechmod i assume no one would have heard of it but those are still easy to google. mech mod is even first item in google search

though there are even more random HL mode...i forget though of any names off my head

There is another that I cannot remember the name of... it was a top down view strategy/puzzle game where you would have to find your way. You had the ability to lay mines that you could blow up. Of course, this isn't really that great of a description - but oh well.
