Guys lets just end this. CURRENTLY the xbox 360 is the best console out. The ps3 has not has as much time to get out games, but even when they have there is no knowing that they will have good ones. These statements can not be contested right now so don;t try ok?

I just wanted to make sure you guys know: When you send in your console to microsoft- THEY FIX IT. They add an additional heatsink to the GPU which results in less overheating problems (feel free to google this subject). On top of that, any new console you buy (at least the HDMI ones) has this heatsink. Therefore the overheating issues are being taken care of and should not factor into a buying decision.

Getting a broken unit and having to wait is not my idea of fun.

I tried checking out the Xbox Pro w/HDMI using PayPal but I didn't get the 10% discount.

Saying its broken out of the box is a stretch of the truth.

If you run it a lot (8 hours a day) in a cramped warm place you run the risk...not for sure, but a good possibitly of having a problem. Of the 30 or so people I regularly play with only 1 has had the problem, and he is a total addict and his xbox is on all day. The rest of us got ours in 2006 and all of them are still running

I am sure will find people that say they have it in a wide open place with great cooling and they are on their 3rd one...but you cant verify it.

Also anyone touting the Blu-Ray drive as a reason to get one has got to be joking. I will not get either a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD until that war is over. In fact if you took the PS3 Blu-Ray's out of the picture HD-DVD would be killing Blu-Ray. In Europe Blu-Ray is getting killed, they sell 1 for every HD-DVD. In Japan its not even the dominant next gen player. The war is far from over with Parmount and others claiming last week to support only HD-DVD.

The PS3 having Blu-Ray could be a bad thing for the PS3 down the road.

How long until I can buy a XBox 360 premium with the 65nm processors? It seems like they've been promised forever. Halo 3 is just around the corner but I've been trying to hold out until they release the 65 nm procs!

I was doing the same thing.. last estimate I read was "by christmas", or a slim possibility of late september.. But I don't think it will be before Halo3. I think that september rumor was just a hopeful guess.

I really like the look of the Halo edition 360, but my friends peer pressured me into buying one last month..

Regarding the repair issue, MS is covering everything for me. They are sending a box to me with postage paid. I only have to put it in and ship it out. It's not a huge inconvenience thankfully. If they can't repair, they replace it.

I doubt new buyers have to worry about this issue and my launch box lasted 2 years basically.

HD-DVD is ganing ground to my surprise. One studio just went with HD-DVD exclusively! Paramount I think it was. This means Transformers will be only on HD-DVD.

MS must be loving this because they want the two formats to smash each other until they can deliver digital downloads of HD content down the road. And they certainly want Sony to struggle as much as possible.

These new consoles are ridiculous. Several of my friends have had their Xbox 360s break on them. I know one kept it in a narrow bookshelf, but come on. I never had to keep my Gamecube in the middle of a room to prevent crashes. The power supply is ridiculous too, it looks like one of those boxes hanging on the power lines outside.

I wish we'd just use 480p and ditch these heaters. I have a 720p/1080i HDTV, but these new gadgets are too much. Anway, I've got a Xbox 360 Premium coming in, does it come with a HDMI cable?

Comes with the basic HD Cable set. You'll need to get the separate HDMI cable.

I would heavily suggest monoprice.com , amigo. They are 1/5th the price and twice the quality. I have had a 25' HDMI stretch running through my ceiling to my projector and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. It cost me roughly $36. A stretch that long at a local chain would have cost me ...I don't even know... $150? $200? A 6' stretch is $50-75, so I can't imagine a 25' cable, if you could even find one that long locally.

Didn't read all of this, but definetly get a Xbox 360. Take this from someone who has both. I don't regret getting a PS3, but do regret getting a PS3 this early. There are barely any games out for it, and none coming until next year. I would go to IGN or Gamespot and see if any games interest you on it - I guarentee you won't find many - if any - that justify that $600 price tag.

And for a deep RPG with good graphics, look no further than Mass Effect. Look that these pictures... Beautiful Its made by BioWare (think KOTOR, Jade Empire, Baldur's Gate) so it's almost guarenteed to live up to the hype.

And if you thought Gears of War was fun - you will love playing Halo 3 online. Don't worry about the fee. It's only $60 a year. Thats $5 a month... Doesn't seem like too much of a fee considering how much better it is than PSN. I mean, I can't imagine people even using it if it actually did cost a fee.

Just get A Xbox360, and pick up Halo 3 in about a month, then Mass Effect in November. You won't regret it... Money Back Guarentee :D

Aren't PS3's 100 bucks cheaper now? And it's a blu ray player? Ideally you would have both lol.

I wouldn't use the bluray player as a reason to buy it considering the format war is still going on.

It's a $100 cheaper...for now. They're trying to sell out all of the 60GB versions to make way for the 80GB which will be $600. And then they'll stop selling the 60GB
