Yes but point is there is no 8800m GTX manufactured for this laptop right. So even if the specs are the same just differing on the shader processors, those shader processors is actually physical processors not anything you can unlock through a bios mod or through Rivatuner. It´s not like the old days where pipeline unlocking actually worked.

I mean that if there were an actual 8800m GTX for you guys it would have those 32 extra shader processors in hardware not software nor bios. Just my theory.

I work at a circuit company and with PCB´s, yes those who Nvidia has their PCB´s made by though we don´t make any Nvidia cards here, but the manufacturing is the same process. One PCB can look the same but still differ hardware wise, we can have 5 PCB´s that look the same but still have minor difference hardware wise or huge difference hardware wise. It is probably the same with the 8800m GTS the hardware is different than the 8800m GTX.

2 separate cards to begin with in the manufacturing process, which means the different hardware architecture makes it impossible for the card to "upgrade" itself to its superior brethren by laser-cutting or other means. Would the above message be clear enough to the OP?

One can bet until one actually does cut the pipeline. Even if they have the same specifications doesn´t really have to mean it has to be the exact same PCB and layout.

I just got my 1.2KW Argon "Laser" from EBay. Using stolen prints showing the EXACT point of cut, I spent 3 days setting computer lathe for the 32 cuts.

My finger is just mashing down on the fire button as the lathe moves my strapped down P6831 under the cross hairs. There, the blue white beam is now reaching it target..hol.y.sh.t.it's....he..p!
