I've been installing all of them, never had an issue with any of them really.

I might actually try this driver cos its for The Division and World of Tanks.
-
Figure what out? All these recent reports about "killing gpus".. if any gpu should die it's mine, I've spent thousands of hours trying to kill it with every new driver.

"880M SLI"
"Never had driver problem"
"Alienware"
That is LITERALLY factually wrong xD. Even if you didn't notice you had the problem xDjaug1337, i_pk_pjers_i, Ethrem and 5 others like this. -

Sir you are mean
... But with all due seriousness I never also had issues when I had my 880m ... But need to mention that I used modded vBios

No, I mean, Alienware + Kepler SLI GPUs FACTUALLY had problems with nVidia drivers until r361 branch of drivers made the motion to correct things. Here is some proof using 780M SLI.
Whether the user knew there was an issue or not, whether a modified vBIOS was used or not, there WERE problems with Alienwares and Kepler SLI, of which 880Ms are.
I'm not nice, but I'm not mean. I don't claim things as facts unless they are =Di_pk_pjers_i, Ethrem and TBoneSan like this. -
Will test and report back when I get home from work

Will wait for modded INFs

I've seen people on my facebook crying about updating to the drivers with 960M using laptops, so take these drivers with a grain of salt.

I noticed "Power management mode" is now set to "Optimal power" in global settings -
What the HELL does that mean? Is there also "Adaptive" and "Prefer max performance" still?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
That's what I was hoping you will answer since you are the settings pro.
this is so confusing man, what the hell is optimal?

Optimal Power Mode just sets the gpu to idle if nothing changes on screen to reduce power consumption.Papusan likes this. -

Actually, I can also absolutely confirm *not* having that issue with Slv7's custom vBIOS on the 880M SLi using those very drivers (and plenty of newer ones) because when that video came out, I was puzzled as to why the more stable 780M setup was giving problems. I may have even brought it up on the forum when Mr. Fox initially shared the video to enquire whether or not he was running some kind of customised vBIOS because my clocks did not throttle down on the custom vBIOS -- overclocked and otherwise -- in any of the benchmarks. -
Really? Interesting. I know svl7's vBIOS for 980Ms as well were capable of booting without issue with 361.75 and later drivers; not requiring a new vBIOS as a base. I guess he's a magician. But 880M SLI, along with other Kepler cards, was indeed the objective to get fixed by them. I think Dell hounded them for it.
Did you have your CPU overclocked by chance? I'm curious. Mr. Fox noted that lowering OCs seemed to help, but refused to do so (as I can fully understand). -
Will have to see tonight as J95 posted the modded INFs.

SVL7 vBioses are legendary ... I really like his work -
Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
Indeed. When I initially saw that video -- before updating to that driver myself -- I was quite concerned because Slv7's vBIOS is what I used to circumvent the throttling issues and what I saw in that video was pretty much the type of throttling that I've observed with 3dMark11 on the 880M cards with the stock vBIOS from Dell. At the time, I worried that with those drivers, the effectiveness of the custom vBIOS would be negated. Fortunately, that wasn't the case with my system when I did update. When it comes to the aforementioned custom vBIOS, the core clock never budges above or below where the clock is set, even on those offending drivers where this problem began to present itself on the 780M.
As for your enquiry about the CPU. I had my 4710MQ overclocked, but as you know, one can only get so much out of this particular CPU. Perhaps it is a factor at play. -
Yes, that might be the reason. A 4930MX/3920XM at 4.3GHz and 1.3v or so is rather more power drinking than a 4710MQ at 3.5GHz (the max 4-core turbo it can get) at I'm assuming ~1.1v. That might really be a factor. We'll never know, as we're never going to go back and check, though.
-
reverted back to 365.19 as it was screwing with my elgato plus it made overwatch's fps drop to like 15fps in the menu.
-
Good heavens, that's bad.
-
I am going to have to update my daughter in law's M15x w/ 970M drivers. All she has is what auto installed from Microsquish when I put Win 8.1 on it. She is getting sucky framerates in Heros of the Storm, but get performance everywhere else. That machine amazes me.
-
Played Overwatch last night for 5 hours straight, everything working great. I actually got a 30fps boost coming from 362.00 ( was on high - 80-100 fps) , now on Ultra (110-140fps)
Weird, did you do a clean install after using DDU? I dont seem to have this issue.
Also if it helps, i never install Geforce Experience.
They also updated the PhysX drivers btw. -
What's odd is i got a few games in where it was all hunky dory. Not sure why it was doing it but the fact that it screwed up my elgato was enough to revert for me.
Yeah, I used DDU.

@bloodhawk @Phoenix Have you compared bench scores with this new driver vs. older 362.00 and 365.19? Gpu score and or physics.

I'm not going to mess with these... 365.19 is serving me just fine and I highly doubt that there will be any better Kepler driver.TomJGX, Spartan@HIDevolution, i_pk_pjers_i and 3 others like this. -

So longs as overwatch plays great then i am not interested in upgrading unless they don't screw up my elgato capture.

I'm really not into it tbh because I feel like you need to be in your 20's to enjoy a game like that, at age 31 I am more suited for single player rpgs
I'm going to get into the witcher 3 expansion when I get some time to myself
Maybe do some more modding to fallout 4 and skyrim, probably do some more programming at the same timeLast edited by a moderator: May 25, 2016i_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
