These days it depends what games you play and if you want Gsync working. Nvidia don't want you to have it all.
-
I have no idea and don't plan to buy that game, but that's not exactly what I meant. What I was talking about with "benching" was in more general terms, as in how it performs in SLI with the driver designed for it versus one that is not. If it requires a special profile it may perform poorly with the wrong driver even if other things perform worse with the driver that helps WD2.

oh I won't uninstall the driver now and go to the previous one, it's a big hassle for me I've done this more than 5 times today just to get this new one installed. I'll just test the game soon as I'm downloading the High Res Textures as we speak -
Even if it doesn't work it's not a big deal. The really nice thing about SLI is that when it works it is tremendous and when it does not you can still enjoy (or suffer) the same experience as all of the single GPU peasants, LOL.afloyd, TBoneSan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

Just got an error message saying the game cannot run while digital driver enforcement is enabled as some game cheat won't work

ok the game ran after I disabled Driver Signature Enforcement. the menu looks like you're playing an Atari Game
Will play it later though -
Luckily enough, it doesn't quite work at all most of the time. And Single does

Hmm... seems to work most of the time for me. But, I edit my own profiles when I need to.bloodhawk likes this.

I was going to ask if this driver fixes screen tearing but it seems there are even bigger issues than screen tearing, so I'll stick with my screen tearing drivers for now that at least work perfectly otherwise.

What drives me crazy is that I had drivers that were working perfectly with G-sync with no stutters or issues and I was forced to "upgrade" to newer drivers for BF1. I'm not sure if that is EA's doing or Nvidia but it's highly annoying to be forced to upgrade or locked out of a game that was working perfectly on the previous drivers.

Nvidia should be paying all you fine folks for QA. Seriously, you all clearly are better at it than they are. Thanks for once again saving me the hassle of downloading a crap driver.

I'd say the fault lies with both companies because the same thing happened with Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, another EA title. I had a set of drivers that were working perfectly, but upon launching that game, it said it needed whatever the newest release was at the time.Mr. Fox likes this. -

Ran DDU in safe mode then installed just the driver and physx. So far everything runs perfectly fine. I have had pretty good luck with drivers so this is the usual story with me. Fingers crossed I'm not back tomorrow with tales of woes.

I don't mind them making a suggestion, but forcing a driver update before a game will launch is an unacceptable draconian measure that should be illegal. At least EA will give you a refund. Then you only have a stupid tile to hide forever in the Origin client since there is no way to permanently remove the shortcuts to trash you don't have installed.
-
If NVIDIA is so hell bent on forcing driver updates, they need to start including "driver packages" (like a distributable package) with games that are installed during the installation process of the game, and perfect these packages, so that new driver updates are not necessary but complementary.
Don't make the game unplayable because you want us to download your crap. -

Hey all. First things first, these driver release threads are hilarious. They are like comic books. Seeing the disaster that the driver releases are and reading everyone's comments on them. What a mess. Anyway, I am seeing everyone saying that they are being forced to update drivers to play BF1. My question is, do you absolutely have to update. COD IW gives me a message stating I need to update the driver as well. I just hit OK and then continue. It asks me if I'm sure because the game may not work, I click yes and then the game loads with my older driver. Just thought I would mention that in case that's possible for you guys with BF1.

Yes you have to update to play it, the game will not launch without a newer driver.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
NVIDIA drivers have gone to stage that I have the driver for Titanfall 2 and the game crashes 10 times before it can even get to the load screen... Beyond a joke.. Going to have to get newer drivers..

I loaded the driver and had issues but I was able to re load an older version and was able to stat BF1 without the warning.

I've seen the Nvidia Driver 375.95 changes that I did not like.
Just by Fallout 4 the clock rates are given.
So that the game is not hungry for Mhz.
So I play further under the 368.83.
The has the normal clock rates and runs well with me under single GTX 1080. -

Word.. we waited all this time for Gsync certified screens only to have them not include Gsync in their drivers. Good one Nvidia.. good one.
Anyone care to start a thread in that cesspit otherwise known as GeForce Forums?

When I install a new driver, the main things I am looking out for are:
- working G-Sync without hitching/microstutter
- properly working V-Sync
- be able to set custom refresh rate and games allow to enable it
I have tried all previously released drivers and with a FHD panel running on 90 Hz, some drivers worth to mention (what I don't mention were so bad or not much better then a mentioned one here, that it is not needed to mention it)
369.56: custom resolution working and games recognize it correctly, V-Sync also caps the FPS correctly, however when G-sync+V-sync working together the game is kinda smooth, but feels a little sloppy
375.63: very good driver, custom resolution working and games also recognize it, V-Sync also working correctly and games feel smooth. Only thing I did not like was when there was sudden fps drop the transition from high fps to low fps was noticeable with minor stuttering
375.95: worthless driver, I can set custom refresh rate, however not all games allow it to be enabled, V-Sync also not recognized correctly and FPS might be capped below 60 FPS
376.09: excellent driver so far! Custom resolution working, games recognize it, G-Sync feels smoother than 375.63 and the transition from high fps to low fps is less noticeable compared to 375.63. In other words this driver is even better than the 375.63.
Games that I have tried were Rise of the Tomb Raider (in-game triple buffering V-Sync) and The Division (in-game Auto V-Sync).
I have installed everything for 376.09, even nView, 3D Vision Driver and 3D Vision Controller driver.
The default inf file does not allow install, so I used a custom inf from laptopvideo2go.
Inf file in question: https://laptopvideo2go.com/infs/370series/37609_win10x64/nv_dispi.inf (Right click to download)
Will do more testing, but with this driver @ 90 Hz refresh rate, The Division (which is really problematic considering choppyness and stuttering) almost feels as good as I was playing on my 144 Hz G-Sync monitor.Spartan@HIDevolution and Prototime like this. -

Nor should you ever need to in the future. Having to do that is silly because Micro$loth is a silly company with silly people with silly ideas. (I'm being kind, as posting obscene and vulgar language is against forum rules. More off-color adjectives would be closer to accurate.)
This will make life after Windows 7 a tiny bit less unacceptable. I can install any unsigned driver whenever I want to on a whim without going through any stupid gyrations. Copy/paste each command in an elevated (administrator) command window and you'll not be bothered by this nonsense ever again.
If you do not appreciate the desktop watermark, this utility will kill that foolishness. http://winaero.com/download.php?view.1794Code:bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON
The one below will get you the legacy "F8" advanced boot options so you don't have to use Micro$haft's retarded long cut method from within Windows.

no need for that utility bro
After you have installed the driver by disabling driver signature enforcement and rebooted, simply disable driver signature enforcement and reboot, watermark gone and the driver will function properly
That's what I did on my system anyway -
I think you meant enable DSE, which happens automatically. I prefer to not be bothered with rebooting to disable DSE. I want to be able to install unsigned modded drivers on the fly with no stupid nonsense to deal with, and having to reboot, press F8 and select the option to disable it is a minor inconvenience that doesn't affect me. If you have to run the commands every time to toggle it off and on again, that's also a minor inconvenience. It might be different if I cared about the "security" gimmick part, but I find no value in having DSE enabled. I'd rather take my chances with the remote possibility of malicious unsigned driver code than be bothered by the inconvenience. I generally do my own driver mods, so the risk is no different than using signed drivers (since that is what I start out with).Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this.

Is anyone experiencing dramatic performance issues and high CPU load with recent drivers and Kepler cards? I updated NVidia drivers on 2 Kepler laptops (which have been collecting dust for a while and the installed drivers were old) and all graphically heavy games are dropping performance.
Crysis 3 and DiRT Rally are having stable but low frame rates. Cities Skylines is getting crazy dips. Assetto Corsa is completely unplayable with CPU load going 95%+ on a 4710MQ running only one car. All the games were not updated, it's just the driver. -
376.19 is now out, and seems to install, so no need for modded infs or disabling driver signing
-
Yes it brings a lot of GSYNC laptop fixes that's why
.
-
Not sure why that makes a difference, the previous version didn't have the entries for a lot of laptops regardless of Gsync. They just missed them out by accident, evident by the amount of complaints on the Nvidia forums and them asking for the id codes of those missed outLast edited: Dec 8, 2016

Wow. I am getting the same things too from the Nvidia Experience Software program. Their site must be down, broken, or whatever.
I have not been able to do anything with the Nvidia GeForce experience program for days now.
It could also be that disgruntled people like myself who are pissed at their recent poor driver offerings are storming through their doors causing mass riots.
