Sort of off-topic, but I had to do a reinstall today, and the drivers that loaded from Windows Update were version 362.03. Haven't had a chance to test them yet, but wanted to share that there appears to be another driver in the 362.xx series.

hmm, interesting, that might be stable since it's off the stable 362.00 branch
it's been almost a freakin' month with no updates from nVIDIA to their horrible messy 364.xx drivers -

Keep in mind, this is a driver from Windows Update, so it's just the NVIDIA control panel. No PhysX software, GeForce Experience, or 3D Vision and HDMI audio drivers - now those could all very well be net positives depending on your perspective, but I wanted to make sure this was known. Strange, though, that it doesn't appear in the Windows Update catalog, and the only other reference to this specific version I can find is a thread on LV2Go that shows an Acer release with the same number that only supports low- to mid-range GPUs, the max is the GTX 965M.

Its likely their next driver is Pascal focused............
This is close to the end of maxwell support....
Dont expect any more maxwell specific performance improvements from nvidia if anyone is still hopeful.Ashtrix, jaug1337 and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
I think the lack of all that is not relevant, especially the GFE bloatware and nearly obsolete 3D Vision support. The GFE bloat-o-rama and PhysX can be downloaded and installed separately if the driver is stable. The critical piece is definitely driver stability and performance.
Agree 100%. In fact, Maxwell-crippling impairments should be expected if we learned anything from recent history. Kepler brought Fermi-killing cancer drivers and Maxwell brought the same to Kepler. And, Windows 10 GeForce driver development brought artificial performance limits and introduced stability issues to Windows 7 purists (of course, an outright fabrication to create an impression Windows 10 is something special). The manipulation professionals at NVIDIA practicing digital genocide and GPU apartheid, and collusion with Micro$loth is status quo. We may eventually reach a point that @Prema vBIOS magic is no longer strong enough to make a silk purse from a sow's ear.jaug1337, TomJGX, Spartan@HIDevolution and 2 others like this. -
362.00 is in fact off the r361 branch.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Well now my M18x is not waking from sleep properly....something my 6990M crossfire used to do on early drivers way back in 2011. Lol nvidia.

My GT80 is still on 364.72, Windows 8.1, and Sleep is working ok. Is your IMEI driver up to date? Does the IMEI device show as working ok in Device Manager

Will double check, but I'm fairly sure everything is current or at least, very recenthmscott likes this.

I should mention I have Hibernation disabled, which stops Hybrid Sleep/Shutdown, and also disables Fast Startup, which gets rid of other problems.
In a cmd window Run As Administrator:
powercfg /h off
That might help your sleep wake problem too. -
Windows 8.1, where things are stable now, but Windows 10 is still unstable for latest IMEI on some laptops.
Found this earlier while helping with an IMEI issue on Windows 10:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3hagj0/working_longterm_solution_to_the_sleep/
Essentially, downgrade IMEI driver to pre-Windows 10 version, 9.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x series, instead of using 11.x.x.x latest on Windows 10.
Are you on Windows 10, or 8.1?Last edited: Apr 21, 2016Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Does it wake up at all?
-
yes, after rolling back to 362.00
Will do more investigation -
God damn it... this thread makes me sadder and sadder, ffs you bloody useless large companies crippling your own hardware to sell more... get your head out of your arse!

You can.
You shouldn't.
I've reverted 5 versions back now, you'd think they would at least release something useful at this point. Literally crippling older hardware in the newest drivers.i_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
Hi,
i have 860m on y50. with unlocked bios can get only +260 on core stable @ 1.2 volt. it seems you unlock vCore.
Can you help me how to get this core clock? -
This driver has been absolutely superb for me. Couldn't ask for a better driver.
-
Don't run 1.2V on your GPU core for too long.. You will kill it
-
i run mine at 1.075v and its stable.

any one tried this modified driver :

Why would anyone try it at all???TBoneSan, Papusan, Spartan@HIDevolution and 1 other person like this.

I don't understand why the Dota2 makes GPU downclock on my machine frequently nowadays (after a few game updates), previously it was occasional and now it's always. Cannot see the same behavior in other games only Dota2...very unfortunate this is, maybe need a driver update but trying out new driver risking the whole machine is not a better choice than to wait or get adapted with this mess...Why the driver releases stopped, dafuq is ngreedia doing getting ready for Gamegimp, Bugworks for gimping maxwell ?
EDIT: Okay, tried a DDU clean shutdown and Installed, the kicker was I had my custom NVCP settings for GPU FS - 9936 which is fine for FS but dota2 seems not to like those settings (fine with all defaults in NVCP for now), even BO3 had a few hiccups on screen like for a fraction of ms but very rare, dota2 had permanent downclock. Seems like those are only good for numbers...meh what a messLast edited: Apr 26, 2016 -
Guys, it's been like two weeks since there's been a driver release.
I think they might ACTUALLY be releasing a half-decent driver soon.
Or they could be trying to hide new ways to kill off our systems, idk.
Actually, not counting the hotfix driver which I can't find by searching the driver downloads page, it's been over a month =O -
Probably deciding if they want to gimp Maxwell now or after Pascal
-
They are awaiting tests from Pascal... If the gap between Pascal and Maxwell are too small, they will most likely cripple their drivers in the best possible manner
