Will tell me experience with fallout 4.Previous drivers crashed on my standard overlock so i needed -25mhz to get stable without crashing.Maybe this one is better

hmmm, looks like noone is interested in trying them out? LOL!
I've read a few users complain about the same high idle temps/GPU clocks in 2D Mode yet again on the nVIDIA Forums and a few others on the OC Forums reporting a 3% loss in performance in 3DMark, games, and some other benchmarks.
I for one will skip these drivers this time. Not interested in frying my GPUs -
Good Lord! WHQL drivers released faster than I can download them. I like consistent updates, but this is ridiculous. They really need to just have like a patch file for latest games if you want it. Not constantly updating drivers to be compatible with the game of the hour.

Very true, this drivers are no different than the ones before, or the ones before.....just a few Game optimizations. What's ironic is, the guys at GeForce forums are claiming it doesn't have an SLI profile for Fall Out 4, although nCrapia claimed that this driver was optimized for it? -
I bet it still crashes my system
I will wait until january hahaha

Just like Wingnut said, didn't they just recently release previous drivers?
I too am getting serious deja-vu's. I think I literally just updated my GPU driver last week... -

you're absolutely right, it's one bad driver after the other with 0 quality control and they aren't even fixing the issues of the older ones, seems to me like the same driver with the same problems but with a few optimizations for a new game or two.TomJGX likes this. -
Extract the drivers and do a diff comparison between them. It's almost guaranteed that the only changes are new profiles and occasionally hardware INF updates.

Those "Assassin's Creed Syndicate game ready" drivers surely did not take my card into account. Lost 8-9 fps in-game, even menu became laggy (did a clean install of 359.00 twice, ran Syndicate more times to make sure it wasn't a one-time error, but no change). Other games I tested (AC Unity, Witcher 3) had no issues. I reverted to the 353.06 drivers I've been using.
Also, it's pretty ironic how the game tells me every time I open it that I should update my drivers for a "proper experience".D2 Ultima, Ashtrix and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
359 is a steaming pile...
My original desktop DPI was 100%, with 359 somehow even though Windows 10 is reporting 100%, it is actually set to 125% so ANY window I open (app, browser, folder, etc.) is super FUZZY. No matter what I do w/ the DPI scaling, all windows stay fuzzy looking.
I uninstalled 359, rebooted into safe mode, ran DDU, rebooted, reinstalled 358.91, all back to normal.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

He's also the one that promised an 880M vbios fix and said overclocking was a bug, so not sure how much value he adds by being here anyway.

As per usual with these latest Nvidia releases, even this newest offering STILL has not fixed my previous driver bugs that Nvidia created after the 355.91 release which prevents my games from seeing my 880m card.
With all these screwups being made by Nvidia in their crappy driver releases, one has to wonder if they are now trying to emulate AMD in how poorly their drivers are/were?
Thanks for nothing, Nvidia....

One has to now wonder if Nvidia hired all those out-of-work AMD driver team employees that were laid off in recent years?
Nvidia keeps pushing out crappy drivers that do NOT fix anything that has been wrong since this past summer, while keeping gamers distracted with phony WHQL releases because of new games like Battlefront & COD.TomJGX likes this. -
I tried 358.91 because of Fallout 4, prefer maximum performance sticks my clocks on full speed permanently. Changing to adaptive and reboot does nothing. Idle temp up to 55C instead of in the 40s. Firestrike GPU score down to 9,3-9,4K instead of 9,8-10K.
Tried the new 359.00, same thing.
Went down to 358.87, same thing but normal Firestrike score.
Finally went back to 355.98, normal behavior now.
Edit: Scratch that. Same astroturd behavior on 355.98, WHICH WORKED FINE BEFORE, WHAT THE HELL NVIDIA
Edit 2: DDU is my new best friend. First time I´ve had to use it.
Maybe I´ll try 359.00 again ,want those Fallout 4 optimizations.
Edit 3: Nope, still stuck at max clocks. Now what..
Restoring 3D-settings in Control panel will remove the clocks after a reboot. So now I just have to do that every single time I´ve closed a game if I don´t want to feed the GPU 1.062V at idle. Great, good job Nvidia.Last edited: Nov 20, 2015D2 Ultima, TomJGX, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -

Ouch... that's why I'm glad I have my 970ms running at 0.90v, even if they are at that 24/7, it's not nearly as bad as 1.062v
-
Yeah my 980Ms are at 0.975v - no thanks on 1.062v.
Still though, its obnoxious when drivers lock the core. When mine lock though, I just disable and re-enable the cards in device manager. Works every time.TomJGX, i_pk_pjers_i and Mr Najsman like this. -
So, with the AC:S drivers the game runs worse... my godness what are they doing? This game is even a Gameworks title... still not good.

Syndicate is far less glitchy than Unity and I think it's very fun, too. Enjoying my time with it despite a not so stellar performance that these drivers could've smoothed out a bit instead of making it worse...
General consensus for the game is definitely more positive this time around. -
I get really mad doing trailing missions... Because the controls are NOT accurate... That goes from 1-Unity...
-
Syndicate is fun. I got it for free. Enjoying it so far. I think Ubi might have actually learned something after Unity. Control issues are a bit wonky, but so far not too bad.

Jeez, first MGS V and now this. How many GPUs did you exactly buy?
I also grabbed Syndicate, and so far it's seems like fun. Got into a first throw down, got a knife, big, eff off shiny one, and a train. And off to fix that whatchamajigger.
Shame they got rid of co-op though, would have been ideal to the whole brother-sister setting. I also liked Paris as a location more, but we'll see, maybe London will grow on me too. Gang mechanic is fun though, reminded me a bit of Saints Row. -
The clocks staying at maximum is due to ShadowPlay. Disable ShadowPlay and you will find the clocks behave as you would usually expect. Either do that or set the performance profile to 'Adaptive' in the NCP.
i_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
Really? Gonna have to try that, though I use Shadowplay.
I don't want to set it to Adaptive. I want my 980M to run full blast when I use it, just not when I'm not gaming. -
I always leave it at adaptive and it still does it and I don't use ShadowPlay and I even have disabled the service entirely. Still does it.D2 Ultima likes this.
-
Yeah, the clocks would always peg themselves to maximum when I had it set to prefer high performance, with shadowplay enabled. I find that with the modded Prema VBIOS it will maintain maximum clocks in demanding games even when set to adaptive.
That's really unfortunate. Perhaps it's because we have different laptop models. I'm right in thinking you already have the modded VBIOS?

AMD is doing more for their customers.Seems the new crimson drivers give small boost in many games unlike nvidia which every drivers gives a small decrease in performance

Looks like nVidia started planed obsolescence early this year. -
This actually seems to work for me, I have prema Bios and vBios.
I reset the 3D-settings to default and checked I was running at low speed and voltage. I then left the setting at Adaptive and ran a short round in Fallout 4, speed and voltage jumped to max and stayed there. Did a Firestrike run, pegged at max as well except during the short loadings and the physics test. Got pretty decent score too. Afterwards the voltage and speed dropped immediately.
This still irks me though, Nvida messed up my GPU, and I don´t like to be forced to use any setting that implies I´m not pushing maximum. But atm it seems to do what I want, run full blast non-stop when I game and drop when I don´t.
Edit: Shadowplay still enabled.hmscott likes this. -
I am currently in 359 drivers and everything is working fine, I am not stuck at any clocks so far. I haven't tweaked anything, though I only installed the graphics driver.
hmscott, TomJGX and i_pk_pjers_i like this. -
So the consensus from people who tried it is most people have it working well, and one person has issues with lost performance?
I have to update drivers EVENTUALLY, and I've been looking for a half-decent one to do since Black Ops 3's launch. In the off chance I do actually gain a benefit from driver updating. Plus I may be owning Fallout 4 soon, so there's that.
But who am I kidding I have kepler! Nobody gets a boost in Kepler! =D -
These and 358.91 work well enough, for me anyway (Maxwell and W10).
-
I'll think about it then. I know they're releasing one problem driver after another, but there must be a "somewhat" stable one like 355.60. I think 355.98 is also in that category for some.
-
Did a long session in Heroes of the Storm too, GPU Clock was below 1037 MHz. One could argue there´s no need for more GPU Power but I still don´t like it. I´ll probably go back to Prefer maximum performance and reset the 3D-settings every time. At least I don´t do any tweaking in Nvidia Control panel that I have to redo.
For the record this started for me when I installed 358.91. After that every driver have the issue regardless of DDU. If you jump directly to 359.00 or newer, who knows.
Performance on 359.00 is good for me. 10K GPU in Firestrike, stable in gaming. The only issue is the stuck Clocks and voltage. -
You know you could try setting per-game prefer maximum performance like I do, instead of 24/7 in control panel. Global can be "adaptive" and in-game could be "max".
See if that works.Mr Najsman likes this. -

Hi all.
Just installed v359.00 on my M18xR2.
Didn't really want to but the GPU's would not SLI in BO3 on 344.XX.
I've modded the driver file so it installed with my GPU's as I don't have standard.
But I cant get NVidia HD audio to install, I suspect it's because there's no device ID's for my laptop in that driver.
The HD audio INF file is different to the display file and I don't know how to find the correct ID's for my laptop.
Can anyone help with a link or something to get me through the first time.
Thanks to anyone who can help....treffnic likes this. -
You know, heroes of the storm always do that for me. They never run at max clock speed for my GPUs. I will give it a try and see how it handles.
On the other hand, these drivers fixed my Assassin's creed performance. In syndicate with 353.62 I had around 30ish fps on low, and about 7fps on ultra. Now I am running ultra on the 25-30fps and dial down AA and PCSS ultra to normal PCSS with around 40-50fps, and up to 100fps indoors.hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
Just started using these driver and so far thumbs up. GPU clocks & volts are normal (for me). GPU Temp is in mid 60s for Fallout 4. Looking good fingers crossed. SLI, is working (except for fallout 4
) my other games are fine.

Pardon my ignorance - but if the community in general feels that Nvidia drivers suck so badly, why not attempt to decompile the drivers and attempt a low-level rewrite of code?
