I just said it started a long long long time ago, it's not a recent thing. "How to make my laptop run quieter?" comes up all the time.

Please stop talking about Max-Q, you're the one that keeps bringing it up, this is a thread on Whisper Mode, and like Battery Boost mode it has nothing to do with Max-Q.

You do this in all the BGA threads, trying to make some useless point on how everything people buy that isn't what you like is crap. Stop thread crapping.

You're the one that keeps interrupting useful discussions on how to do these things, with inane useless non-helpful comments that have nothing to do with what people are discussing, please stop.

Maybe I should say Max-MM. I don't really underclock the GPU at all, I just found it. It seems with a modified vBIOS we can trick 1080M to perform close to 1080 taking into consideration the cooling reqmts too.

I think he refers to locking the voltage in the AB voltage vs frequency graph. Pascal can´t be undervolted as well, but with the voltage curve in Afterburner it is possible to lock the maximum voltage used at a certain frequency and with very little performance loss, because it acts kind of a undervolt and an overclock at the same time depending on the settings one chooses that is.

I tried it, the guidelines were to hit ctrl+f in graph and for me,nothing works. I severely underclocked the card by 800MHz and 200mhz on memory, my fps went from 60-20 and indeed I'm sticking with no underclocks.

I see...I didn´t realize this doesn´t work on the maxwell cards.

So I downloaded GFE, just to see what Whisper Mode does to the GTX 1070.

It limits the core/mem clocks to 797/1500 at 40ps.
