Well I ended up updating to 376.60 while I was troubleshooting another problem... and started crashing on boot up -_- Dump logs say nvlddmkm.sys caused it and google says that's nvidia. Every reboot it locks up on the Eurocom logo and then restarts again, with loud fan noises and when it gets to windows I get a "Your system has recovered from a serious problem" message.
So I uninstalled it. No Safe Mode DDU cleaning however, since that involves the problem I was troubleshooting in the P750ZM thread. Installed the latest hotfix driver: 378.77 and now the double reboot stopped. No more errors upon getting to Windows so I guess that's good... What's funny is PC still looks like it locks up at the Eurocom logo, goes into a black screen for 2s and then desktop appears straight away. No rotating dots or "user account" screen appear at all (I don't have a password though). But it looks like the pc is booting faster than ever before because of this "skip". This is Windows 8.1 btw. I have no reason to update to 10 just yet, since no game absolutely requires it yet.
Oh, and OpenGL interceptions still say it is version 4.4 at 90% compatibility with 4.5. But at least now the programs I need to use that require 4.5 work so I guess updating the driver did provide more support for 4.5 despite 359.06 also claiming it was 4.4 at 90% compatibility with 4.5.
