I own all the consoles i.e. PS3, 360 and Wii. I prefer PC games for their realism which I can't get on the consoles. Games like Train Simulator, Flight Simulator and racing sims like rFactor, Grand Prix 4, Nascar Racing Season 2003, Race '07 are not available for consoles and won't be.

would u use a joystick or a mouse and keyboard for flight games
-
For Microsoft Flight Simulator X (Yoke)
Combat Flight Sims = Joystick
Racing Sims = Force feedback wheel -
That's another thing. There are SO many input devices out there for computers. If you want to simulate an F-16 ****pit, you could go out and buy controls modeled directly after the real thing, made out of high grade aluminum. A consol joystick will probably be some shoddy plastic thing with 1/2 as many controls. PCs are open devices, so there are so many more options in everything.

thats why i use the controller because i have most of that controls in my hand and its not on a flat surface
-
Well, if lower control fidelity is your thing, enjoy.
-

Shadowfate Wala pa rin ako maisip e.
Sorry but those are not the type of RPGs that I like. I prefer turnbased ones. like Final Fantasy and like Star Ocean. Disgaea. I think you already get the picture from my examples
I enjoy RTS for PC because It really feels natural to use it. but for FPS I really still prefer Controllers. I really have better thumb control than using the mouse. But I still play FPS on the PC. But I really like controllers. -
Fallout 1&2, ToEE are turn-based (both awesome RPGs)..anyhow just countering the claim that there are no good RPGs (nothing mentioned about turnbased or real time) on the PC

what do u mean
-
Just a few reasons why:
The Modding community is bigger & far easier to do thanks to PC games & have been for years & years.
I like using a mouse & keyboard over a controller (never got used to them to this day).
Its very fun to try & figure out why my game doesn't play.................................not, its the gpu, no wait its the memory, oh s*** its the Hard Drive Space curse you Frontline with your greedy 14GB worth of space.
PC games are generally cheaper.
& far easier to down****(I didn't mean to say that, honest). -
Fixed
btw xbox games can be down****** just as ..well nm. -

yeah but u have to change the f*rmw*are but before u this thread gets closed (which i dont want it to)
pc games are the best -
Mr._Kubelwagen More machine now than man
Mouse and Keyboard FTW.
-
reason why i'm PC gamer
1) AA to the max on desktop, either 8x or 16x
2) AF, console games don't use AF
3) higher textures
4) overall better visuals
5) better controls, keyboard and mouse, gamepad for some games, wheels for others
6) games i like are on PC, Witcher, NWN2 etc..
7) no good RPGs on Console
8) playing shooters with gamepad is pathetic
9) mods
10) game enchancements
11) better MP
12) Steam -

is the witcher good
is using the touch pad on the laptop any good -
No. If you are gaming on a laptop, the first thing you should do is get a real external mouse. In fact, I would say the first thing you should do whether gaming or not is get a real mouse. Touchpads.... *shudder*
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
oh because i could never could really aim with the touchpad
-
Well that would explain some things, heh.
-
keyboard + mouse for FPS games >> any console controller out there.
-
Because the 110 keys on my Logitech G15 are barely enough to control my WoW characters. I'd like to see you do that with a game-pad.
Also I like to *type*. I like to have a screen that's sharp as all hell, not some shoddy TV. As a matter of fact, I haven't owned a TV in 12 years, and I sure as hell wouldn't buy one just to play games on.
Besides, everybody knows about the inferiority of the Console Peasants vs. the Glorious PC-Gaming Master Race xD -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
ok then what would these be better on
rpg
fps
rts
cant think of anymore but games like
dmc4
overlord
nfs prostreet -
well, dmc4 is a console franchise that's now on pc, able to use either m/k or gamepad, nfs has always been on pc and console so it's really a matter of preference and will most likely be played with a gamepad on both pc and console, overlord is a game that's designed for a gamepad so it comes down to preference.
RPG, FPS, and RTS and not to forget casual, adventure(making a good come back), MMO, and Sim are the PC's strong points for genres.
I would say action including TPS, Jrpg's, sports, platformers, are all tradionalaly console genres.
I would put Racing games equally impressive on both PC and console, GTR/Race on PC and GT/Burnout on console being my favorite for each platform. The PC generally leans more towards Sim Racers but games like Trackmania is great and can't be ignored. Arcade Racers generally dominate on console. -
What it comes down to is the control scheme. Some devs completely phone it in when they do the console>PC port. For those games, the PC controls are usually horribly mangled. Devs that put some care and effort in, and the vast majority of games that are developed ground up for the PC will have good PC control schemes, and most of them will work best with a mouse/keyboard or (in the case of sims) joystick/racing wheel/etc.
As to the genres you named, all 3 with decent control schemes are better on PC. The titles you named in specific are console-centric, so I'm not sure on how the control schemes are for them, but you can be fairly sure there are reasonable analogs released on PC with good control schemes. -
Witcher has been getting good reviews i peronally dont like it much...its a gr8 game but the combat i find is horrible...Gamespot praised it but i hae it, gave up playing after an hour, i think that if the combat was better, even like Fable, it wuld have been an awesome game
BUT thats just me, maybe u will like it like the reviewers
why do you choose computers games
