Nothing that a little UV wont cure. I've got the 5550 idling at 38c and at full blown processor pwnage, it only gets up to 50C. I don't forsee the X7800 getting much above 60C, but I could be wrong. As long as the processor is within design limits, I dont sweat it.
BTW, I would love to play some COD4 with you, except I have one small tiny problem. I cant play on public servers if you know what I mean. *wink *wink

Hit a high for me at 7233 with no OCing.
3DMark: 7233
SM 2.0: 3329
SM 3.0: 3448
CPU: 1583
Did I miss a link to a good UV thread? Idling in the low-mid 40s, low-mid 60s stressed. -

That'd be awsome. I was lvl 51 on 360, but I just started out on pc... So it's back to the beginning for me.
Let's all hit it up tonight on a server?
I'm playing with 3d mark right now trying to get to 7600. I just scored a 7525 so I'm gonna give my gts one final shove and be done. I'll be back in about 10 minutes. -
as for the server info for COD4....
66.55.137.204:28960
64.34.215.161:28930
69.31.15.225:28960
and if it werent for my 6 am work start time tomorrow morning, i would be all for playing a match or 6 tonight -
Yes Chase, the P8600 is not compatible with the 6860. You need to stay in the T or X series.
You guys use Xfire? I'll jam some CoD4.

I think I'm the only one here who uses Xfire...
It's like AIM, but with the ability to join onto a friends game directly. -
ill try out this xfire thing...but i normally wont run excess programs. -
Xfire takes up no resources what-so-ever for me. The ability to join any friends server, on any game, talk during the game, record and save videos, etc.
-
Looks like I missed out on the fun.
Too bad I don't have COD4 installed. -
Actually I would love to, except the friggin power just went out for no reason and my router and cable modem are now running on batt backup. I have about 30 mins left. I guess if it doesnt come back on soon, ill resort to my Sprint Compass Broadband modem. 1.3mb down, yikes!
-
so...um...yeah. diablo8567 (too original, i know
) on xfire
-
Awesome man, the program is great.
Now, we need Dook, Chase, and Dtwn to grab Xfire. -
Hmm. Ill have to download it tew. (I speak fluent lolcat, btw)

My apologies for getting back semi-on-topic, but would any one care to post what they have their UV settings at? I read through the forum and it seemed like a lot of trial and error, but if there are some proven settings already out there, well then, I'd like to see them. heh. This would be for the T5550 processor.
-
I can go a bit lower, but just to be safe, I leave it here.

I'm just saying that the Penryns have been notorious for going to .95, but the Meroms, no so much. But either way, it doesnt really matter. -
On my 6860 I'm overclocking my GPU to 575 Mhz. I use the Zalman NC-2000 cooler with it and as you can see in my sig I upgraded the CPU to the T9300. All these things combined, I just scored 9265 on 3dMark06. Prior to OC'ing my 3dMark06 was 8928 if I recall correctly. (This is all with the 177.66 drivers)
I fired up Crysis to see how the GPU would take the added stress. Without OC'ing I would play on all high settings at 1440x900 and had no framerate issues. Since I was OC'ing I decided to keep everything the same and set the textures and shaders to Very High. The game played exactly the same and the GPU temp never went past 69 degrees C.
Even without a T9300, you can gain some added performance with overclocking. I never tried overclocking before this week as I was scared of the damage it might cause, however, I feel confident since I use a great notebook cooler, and the overclocking hasn't changed the temps from what it was prior to using a cooler. -
Thanks, Dook (+rep). Idling as low as 37 (typically right at 40), peak around 56. Not too bad.
Next step for me is OCing the GPU. My first rodeo in that arena. -

But, theres still 3 days to go till the auction ends. I bet it will probably sell for close to his buy it now price of $380. -
Beat this beyotches! I totally pwn you all!
This is what I get for trying to update to the newest driver. Now I get to play Mr.Fixthescrewup -
haha! man, i didn't even get a score that low with stock drivers.
-
I did notice yesterday that if I had clocked my gpu too high that it would score in the low 5ks. Basically, with the 177.66, I found the clocks that are in my sig to be the most effective. If I scored in the low 5's, I would just bring my clocks back down, reboot and run 3dmark. Seemed to fix the problem. -
Ok, I seem to be back to normal. Jeesus Christ, what an ordeal just for a driver change!
-
-
The CPU has a lot to do with 3DMark, as it tests your whole system.
-
Has anyone had a problem with RMclock skewing their 3DM06 scores?
-
nope no problems here with RM clock and 3dmark i ran it with both on and off just to see if i was dreaming that i could get my cpu running cooler yet at full performance.
-
Hmm. For some reason it dropped my score like 300 points. Weird mang.
-
now wasnt that some interesting reading.....lol

Ladies, meet the granddaddy of FX series 3dmark06 testing. -

i was just checking in to see if my scores got taken down by this new modded inf, but i guess not...they are all still holding....wooohooo...lol
