10 years is a delicate age. Watch them well, john. Enjoy it before he enters the grouchy/demanding/angsty age.

And thank you, I live to serve.

Oddly enough, I haven't gamed that much with my FX. Mostly Supreme Commander and Universe at War. Been oddly busy.

tis is true... he is on there running his mouth now...lol (cod4) with his lowly rank of 16, but moving up fast! for 2 days of play.

i haven't been gaming on the fx lately either. been using her to fix peoples laptop drives. and my hp i let my sister use. now she doesn't want to give it back...lol

them two games sound interesting, might have to check them out when i get time.

I just scored a FX6860 and I am getting ready to try some stock (CPU upgrade pending) benching and I had a few issues come up. I will be using the 177.66 drivers from Laptop2Go to do all of this. My issue is that GPUz says my clocks are as follows:

    -Core: 500
    -Shader: 1250
    -Memory: 800

When I launch RivaTuner v2.09 I get much lower clock information and the overclocking bars do not even reach some of the stock speeds.
    - Standard 2D
*Core: 200 (300 is max OC available on slide bar)
*Shader: 400 (600 is max OC available on slide bar)
*Memory: 100 (150 is max OC available on slide bar)

    - Low Power 3D
*Core: 275 (415 is max OC available on slide bar)
*Shader: 550 (825 is max OC available on slide bar)
*Memory: 301 (455 is max OC available on slide bar)

    - Performance 3D
*Core: 383 (575 is max OC available on slide bar)
*Shader: 767 (1150 is max OC available on slide bar)
*Memory: 301 (455 is max OC available on slide bar)

Why is RivaTuner displaying much lower clocks than what the card should be running at? Is some sort of power management in play? What tools are you all using to OC your GPU? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance for the info/help.

It underclocks when you're not gaming I think.

use ntune 6.02 from nvidia to oc your gpu
as the other guy said powermizer underclock your gpu when high clocks are not needed.

you can run some game in window mode with gpuz on the side see how it clocks, then shut down the window and see how it clocks down.
