This thing is very nice so far! Its my first laptop tho and I'm still getting used to the keyboard even tho its pretty big. Also, its quite hot! The hard drive is right in the center, near the touchpad and its making some good heat come up... of course, it is 85 degrees at my house here.
Its also very large! I have just been uninstalling some of the software that came with the system and installing my programs, so I haven't picked it up to take it anywhere, but its manageable. Its just a beast of a machine.
Man this hard drive is warm.

my HDD usually doesn't even start to get warm unless i have been playing a game for a while, and the screen was big to me because my old comp had to have a 15" monitor when the on before broke. carrying isn't to bad if you carry it like a book or binder and i've carried it while using, just hold it like a tray and wrap your fingers around the battery.

Based on the Gateway retail site and this big price reduction I'm figuring Best Buy and Gateway are phasing out the P-6860FX. There isn't a new product up like the successor to the M-6850FX, so this might be it for the retail FX P-series.
And so that's why I just bought one!
Got a good deal on a printer too, Canon AIO MX310 for $30 bucks. -
it could be because theyre doing a refresh for 6860 into montevina.nonetheless, still a good price for 6860
