My 7811FX is still holding up pretty good, though I am considering upgrading to a new laptop with a newer gpu (yes, I know the 260/280 are still based on g92 cores). I still haven't seen any good evidence that the 260m or 280m really give us a good bump in gaming performance.

If any of you have switched to a new laptop running either gpu, do you have any good gaming comparisons you can share or point me to :)

    Cheers...

Card to card you're not going to be getting anything amazing in results the 260GTX will post about 7-10% over the 9800GTS and the 280 will probably get you another maybe 10% over that (thought probably not)

I'm running 2x 260GTX's right now and i noticed a big difference, but thats because my new rig has 2 cards.

Honestly with an upgraded CPU the 78xx series should still be giving good results even this time next year. If i was smarter i would have waited for DX11 cards before upgrading (and what i would suggest to most people, the 5000ATI and the 300nVidia cards will be out next year and will be an actual upgrade for most people)

well yeah the newer cards will be better, hel 7 - 10 percent would be enuff for me.

but do go to notebookcheck.com and tick those 3, then click compare, and u can see the difference spec wize, i belive its only more shaders, which in higher resolutions makes a hell of a differance for your fames
