Lightscribe drives are internally different, they have additional window with lightscribe lenses.

well thats good to know. They still may all be the same drive though with different firmwares. Makes sence if they came off the same assembly line to get mixed up with the lables. I was thinking there is one big problem though. It might be hard to flash it back to a CT10N when and if a firmware ever becomes availible. The utility is going to most likely going to detect it as a CT10L and say its a different drive. I guess I have to hope for a new CT10L firmware. At least I have lightscribe so its a little bit of a tradeoff.

Hi all,
Is this the only BD that works with the 7805? Thanks. -

Got my CT10N back and guess what, it reads as a CT10N and it has the WA06 firmware. Externally it reads firmware date is 10/04/08 (sticker), but internally 09/04/08 (interesting). Sadly, I didn't bring a BD movie with me to work so I have to wait till I get off later to try it out and see if I can play BD movies without AnyDVD HD (hopeful).
ALL IS WELL! Just got done watching WALL-e, no AnyDVD HD running. -
Not a BD Playback Response but I figure I'd ask it here first.
I own the HP Drive as it came with my HP dv7 1264nr.
My BD Playback is fine.
However, as I was installing all my usual software, I found Exact Audio Copy (EAC) was unable to write a audio CD.
I get the message "No Writeable Disc in Drive"
EAC seems to read disc from the drive fine, even audio burned to a CD-RW by other software is read perfectly.
I can burn cd in the same drive with other software.
Just would like to know if anyone else is having the same issues and if there are any suggestions.
I've tried with and without CDRADO and yes I'm running Vista 64 so no aspi layer.
Thanks for the help. -
Hello,
I just got a HL CT10n from Battery ebay seller...I have a gateway 7811fx, currently I do not have a bluray, have ordered it. But when I try to insert cd or a normal dvd, it does not get read. When I try to open it, it says no disc.
right click-> properties say 0 bytes disc. I also set the region to 1, but still cant read it.
any idea what is the problem ? I have Vista home premium x64, and did not install any drivers for the bdrom, just the initial drivers which windows install when it finds some new hardware.
Also i ran everest, it says I have BDROM, Firmware WA02. says

Thanks -
Try in control pannel under device manager, unistalling the drive then reboot and let windows re-install the drivers.
Anyone having problems with BD playback? (7811/7805)
