im using default drivers and there's no option to OC ive tried upgrading still no option to OC.
Honestly a simple OC + driver is making your pc output double the FPS than my stock one, thats incredible! (i know your cpu pwons 2 but still double?)

yes its 100% stock well 98% stock because im runing windows 32 instead of 64 but all the drivers are form gateway.com so out of the box the pc is suking big time!! to get his scores i had to play at 720p

no, your scores are closer to being correct...
when benchmarking with crysis...
1: you need to go into the game it self and set everything to all high, then set your settings to what screen size your going t run your test at. then save and exit. or click yes/yes then exit out of game. (so to speak)
2: open up crysis bench mark tool and set it for the resolution you have in game. do 1280x1024/high - in game and for your bench. and let me know what you come back with.

 

ok i did what you told me, (the ingame resolution wa sindeed lower like you said) so i went and change the resolutino ingame to 1900X1200 and it raped my gpu even worse /cry

any ideas? (it opens up the game i get a black screen for 1 sec then it trows that msg)

 

drop clocks to stock and see if it works. then start from 700/800/1700 and work your way back up.

 

ok found the problem DX10 no longer works (im guessing its because of the modified drivers?) maybe i have to reinstall? i think last time i had moded drivers DX wouldnt install in my pc it just gave me an error i guess ill try again now.

EDIT: going to stock speed to see just what the driver is doing because im sure some of those fps are form the OC and not the driver upgrade maybe dx10 will work that way brb 5 minutes

ok those are the new scores with out OC, so yea like 2-3 FPS over the old drivers, and once OCed i gain 5-6, for a total of 8FPS a 54% performance gain!! (i think i suck at this so i don't know, im just saying what my calculator says when i dive the numbers !)

Download the newest DirectX and install.. see what that does for ya.

ok so i did that and it only installed 1mb... so i went to the crysis CD and used the direct x there and it showed it writing things called DX10 blah blah. So maybe it will work rbr 5 mins ill let you know.

Ok so ive installed from the internet, from the Crysis dvd, and now from the witcher enhance DVD and no go. Ive also noticed that there's no option to select ULTRA HIGH any more whats going on guys can some one help me? while we do a think tank im going to uninstall it and re install it maybe that will do the trick, i doubt it but hey lets try any way.

 

well ive tried everything and nothing works i even uninstalled the physics driver but again nothing works, im thinking about going back to my old driver and just trying to make ntunes work so that i can OC it. Because i want DX10! Well i don't think anything i own besides crysis uses it. does the witcher enhanced edition use it? Any how it sucks that my pc is not leting me run it... you guys have the same drivers and are able to run it. I just did a clean install last week meh maybe ill have to do it again :S

 

My pea brain is starting to hurt due to the abundance of utilities I see for hardware monitoring and benchmarking. Is there just a couple I can get by with instead of so many?

to benchmark just download 3D mark 06 and post your results, or if you have crysis use that so that you are able to compare to us side by side my friend

 

Hopefully y'all can give me a hand with this overclocking, I've never done it before on a laptop and it's driving me crazy. I've got my P-7811fx with Vista 64, and I'm running driver version 7.15.11.7615. Yet for some reason, I can only get 8916 max 3dMark06 score (4146, 4027, 2072).

I've got the clocks currently set at:

600MHz GPU Core
799MHz GPU Memory Speed
1700 GPU Shader Clock

After about 12 hours of testing, I'm just about ready to throw in the towel...

That's cuz the only thing you changed from stock was shader.

This is the thread i have been searching for.
I have installed Xfastest and Dox's drivers but for some reason when i OC to
700 950 1600 on my 8800m gts it downclocks when playing crysis warhead.
I would be at the beginning of the level and it would randomly downclock itself and i would go from 30 fps to 15 fps in 2 seconds.

I even installed the no powermizer inf. for Dox's driver and i still get these random down throttles in most if not all my games. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO.

Would you guys reccommend i download Xfastest again and see what i get or just try a diffrent driver.

Can you guys PLEASE reccomend me a driver to use on my 8800m gts using these OC setting

Download DriverCleaner and install.
Uninstall NVIDIA drivers.
Boot into safe mode and run DriverCleaner.
Reboot once drivercleaner is done.
Install XFastest drivers.

 

Run CPUID's HWMonitor. When you come out of the game, what was the max value for TZS0? (I know this shows up more on 7811s, but someone else mentioned seeing it on a 6830).

Also, don't OC so high or not at all. The factory settings ar 500/800/1250 so you are pushing the core and shader pretty hard. Try 650/900/1400.

i already use the method HOMER uses so im going to go back to Xfastest again and see what happend when i lower the Clocks.
