every time i try to open a web browser or just any application in general, it tells me this .dll has been moved, or deleted. or this application can no longer be accesed.. just bull. This is what it was doing before i got the P79 board.. So yeah... Im hoping the new board works, if not .. Asus here I come.. lol
-
did not know you were having issues before the P79 board.............
-
Well yeah.. thats reason I justified buying the p79 board. I got two bsod's witht he p78 board int he past 2 days, both while playing my game.. the p78 board plays the game, its just eventually the memory fks over.. I know on that board the memory slot(s) are bad. I got new memory for the P79 board, so i just have to wait until i get a new one back.

Alright. Today after work Ill be on my way to pick up a Asus G73SW.Take some pictures of this, put it on ebay and sell it with all of the peripherals. for about 1000.00 if the p79 MB works.. and for around 500.00 if it doesnt.

congrats on the new machine. I am kind of woried about the upgrade as you have issues already that seem to parallel the issues you have now with the P78 board. my suggestion would be to try the video drivers that arre stable for you with the P78 on the P79. To tell you the trueth I am not sure why you have these issues but it look like an IRQ conflict. Why you are having it I have no idea.
Having the machine in hand would help but it may be some other issue. as an example if the DVD were hanging, as in intermitently defective, it could freeze the pci-e bus from the sata conroller. Same isses with the power board with the two USB ports. Every pci/pcie device has a priority/latency. The drivers may somehow be altering this allowing the video to ignore whatever is attempting to freeze the computer.
A suggestion, free to try, pull the DVD out and see if the system stops locking up............... -
Well next week i get a new motherboard that they are exchanging for me.. so if the new board fails again, i will definatly try that.. thanks man.

heres a side by side comparison of the old and the new.. im loving it..

Dude... they are telling me i sent them back the wrong board..... i have two boards.. my old one.. which is green.. and the p79 one which was blue.. i sent them the p79 and they tell me it doesn't match whats on record... fkin bs company
-
did you let them know you do not have any other P79 boards that you could have sent to them?
-
Yup. I told them that and my stock P78 board are the only two I ever had in my possession. And i sent the only p79 board i ever even touched... back to them.. So i have to wait for their reply tomorrow.
-
It would be another thing if you had a P79 and could have mistakenly sent them your old board, or multiple computers etc.............
-
Yeah, I know what you mean. Fortunately for me I only have one gateway sitting here.
-
So how are things in the land of Gateway? lol... and these fkers still tell me i sent the wrong board... -.- looks like i might be eating 500$ there...>.>
-
what did they say the board was from?
-
they just said I got the board mixed up with my old board.. since i ordered that, i guess they thought it was to replace a defect p79 board... so i took pictures of my p78 board and sent them the links to it.. and hopefully receive a answer today..
-
well.. the parts manager is looking into the serial number issue so hopefully it will be fixed in a week or so..
