Which one of your laptops are you trying to overclock? Most HPs have a BIOS lock for GPU overclocking.

Most people here use RivaTuner, I personally stick to nTune as apparently I achieve higher stable results with it than with System Tools.

The last person I saw that had the "Cannot be applied" problem was because the drivers they were using didn't allow it.
    Update your drivers.

Ntune/Nvidia System whatever blah blah both caused all kinds of wierd problems for me. I ultimately went with ATI Tool 0.26 and it works fine.

I'm using a 7811-FX with vista-64 and I can't find anything to overclock with. ATITool is not digitally signed and same with nTune. Rivatuner doesnt recognize proper stock clocks no matter what I do.

If someone could give me what drivers the use for vista 64bit and the program they use, I'd be grateful

EDIT: Never mind, started using latest edition of nTune and wow, am I happy. 9350 in 3dmark06 @ 700/900/1700 and the card never broke 73C

EDIT2: okay so um...900/1100/1950 results in a crash before seeing one frame of 3dmark06...just letting people know the limit is below these numbers....

New results: 725/925/1775 resulted in 9550 3dmark06. Gonna push up to 750/950/1800 and pray and then call it a night.

Update: failed :( Gonna push each setting individually up from 725/925/1775 and see what I can squeeze out of it.

Memory can go higher, I doubt the core will go more than about 10mhz above that without crashing sooner or later.

it is rock solid at 725/925/1775 though and temp hits a max of 73 so I'll be more than happy if that's the limit

I've got the fairly common 698-988-1798 going (courtesy of E-Wrecked, I think) and it runs both flawlessly and very cool. 56c is the most I've seen out of it, and without using an active cooler either, just a mesh stand that allows air to flow through freely.

Given your crashes, I'm guessing it's the core clock (first one), as the second two are higher than your testing speeds.

Edit: oh and I'm using Xfastest 180.70 drivers. The new Nvidia 179.48 ones for notebooks seemed to run well, but kept my GPU fan on all the time and it annoyed me lol.

I tried these settings and it crashed in 3dmark, and made my screen brake up completely.

Some reason I don't think it liked those settings..

I'm back to factory default for the moment.
