So my Slappa got here, a day early even by UPS Ground. I was pleasantly surprised.
The first clue that something was wrong was the fact that the box was crushed on one side. I opened it up and found out that

    1) The plastic bag wrapping the bag was ripped.

    2) The bag was damp.

    3) The bag had white patches of mold on it.

And I was looking forward to using it too! Ugh
Now to find out if UPS screwed up or the store did.
On the bright side, it was a B-model and was decently priced at $70 including shipping.

I would contact Slappa, if thats who you got it from, and have them send you a new one asap!

Nah, wasn't Slappa, but if the place I ordered from gives me a unsatisfactory response, I'm going to Slappa.

I ordered my first though a third party (INTERNET discount store), when I contacted Slappa about not getting the newer version (nothing wrong with it actually), they offered me a discount on my second one, not bad. Slappa should not be held responsible for poor handling though a third party, I hope you resolve it with the company you bought it from, good luck.

Oh yea, I'm definitely not faulting Slappa for it. I would just email them and inform them of the poor performance of the site.

I filed a complaint with UPS as well. Just to cover my bases. I'm guessing the damage was caused during shipping.

UPS is good about taking care of these kind of issues, I had two Rapture Hard Dives smashed on arrival, they replaced them though newegg.com, had new ones in four days.

That's really good to hear. The bag actually seems pretty decent, but I was planning to go on a trip this weekend and bring my FX with me. It's already got two small scratches from being carried around in the messenger bag I have. Looks like it'll have to endure more.

Excellent idea. You might also wish to add if it fits with battery attached or otherwise.

The 6860fx doesn't fit in the laptop case of the Swiss Gear Carbon. I'll keep it, because it's great looking and it has enough room for other stuffs; but I have to take the battery out :( Also I can put my NZXT Cryo inside that backpack (with a little of effort) + 6860fx + Acer Extensa 15.4" + cables + ac adapter + etc

Im debating whether to get the Targus XL or the Targus CPT400 right now. Lots of people in this thread said the XL fits the 6860 perfectly (with battery), but how does the CPT400 fare? It looks alot better to me IMO and its much cheaper (on sale right now on their website). Does anyone have experience with the CPT400?

I'm looking to get a bag for my FX as well. What I'm wondering is how much does a shoulder bag with this laptop actually get annoying after awhile? I still have a LL Bean backpack I bought in freshman year of HS and its still like new, so I didn't see much point in getting a new backpack. I'll also be bringing this laptop to lan parties and other areas so I didn't want to hauling my school bag w/ me also.

    SwissGear Pegasus works!

It holds the laptop securely without hitting the corners and has enough storage for accessories. Plus it holds it's shape and stands-up by itself!

I ended up getting the Slappa Ballistix PTAC Matrix Laptop Shoulder Bag for 100 dollars of buy.com. It looks good and I liked its features. No one said anything bad about it in this thread so I thought it would be fine. If anyone does think otherwise LMK so I can just refuse the shipment.

Found a 17' Laptop sleeve made by Targus
When i moved here to the Netherlands (Im from Virginia)
Needed something to keep my Gateway FX P 6831 Series laptop protected

Its the nicest purchase i have ever made... :)
Got it at (Media Markt)in the Netherlands Same as Best Buy

    For 15.00 euros
[Check out pics in attachments] Fits like a "Glove"With battery attached

Wish i was in the States again sound like you guys are getting all the good stuff.. :p

When i left the States i did purchase a The Velocity SPYDER laptop backpack direct from SLAPPA

"Love this Backpack" i can fit two 17' laptops and i don't have to worry about taking the battery out of the Gateway

    Fits Perfect.. :)

I get alot of Looks from local Dutch..i think im the only one that owns one of this backpacks

Yeah I got talked into buying a notebook case suppose to fit the 7811fx, without battery it fits nice and snug, with a battery - doesn't fit at all. Ended up returning the bag only to get a $70 best buy gift card im never going to use lol.
