Gee, do you think my HD has a problem?

I had to break my RAID because of data corruption that couldn't be fixed. I decided to try 2 separate drives. Yikes, this is my OS drive. I had to laugh (then cry).

    Here is the second drive:

Something is slamming the OS drive. I have indexing off on the drive but maybe SuperFetch is getting configured ... any guesses?

I could turn SF off but I'll give it awhile to see what happens.

I guess it's settling down. She's no speed demon.

Wow, that is a realy slow result. What mode do you have enabled in bios and is write back cache enabled?

Mode is AHCI. Write back is enabled. I now checked the second box also and bumped the Burst Rate some. They are 5400's so I don't expect much. (your 5400 is faster) They worked great in RAID. I don't know what corrupted the drives but I could no longer write to the drives in RAID and nothing would fix it. I may go back to RAID but I'll see if I can live with this. They run toasty but were cheap.

Looks to be on par with the test found here. Except burst is much slower.

I think I see a couple 500's in my future.
