I think he modded the setfsb in C# project.
I also think he uploaded it before, here it is:

I have tried again, it has no password and I have used 7-zip to just store it without compression, maybe it will work better this time:

Will flashing back to the stock bios take everything back to stock for a p7805u?
Only changes I've made were done in throttlestop -
Now tell me how you have 1333 MHz when the systems max is 1066MHz? -
-
-
-
-
-
LOL.. sorry buddy.. 3.6 at max for a x9100.. no.. im getting 4.3 at max with my x9100.. -
-
-
For SetFSB to work you have to hard modify our systems. Again something I can do but choose not too since TS works so well........... -

I jsut made my flash drive bootable, but the flash stuff still didnt work..
i have 9C.23.00 is it even possible to revert back to a older bios -
-
Hey guys, I have uploaded the modified P78 9C.17.00 bios (based on iATA's bios collection) that has the EIST switch unlocked. It also includes the flash program and a batch file to run so all you need is to pop these files into a bootable usb stick with MSDOS, boot from the usb and run the batch file.
That is what I did. I followed his instructions to the letter, but all i got was a C:\
thats all it did, it didnt prompt me to flash anything.. -
Right, to be sure all files are there without the quotes type "DIR /W" and hit enter. if all the files are there type the filename in that has the .bat ending and hit enter. I think that was "phlash.bat".
When you run DOS you are at a command level OS, there is no GUI and little if any intuition to the OS. They can but will not make it autoexecute as god forbid you boot the wrong system etc with it plugged in, it could be quite destructive. -
there is BIOS.WPH
flash
phlash16
The one that says flash is a windows batch file or something.
You are the man TanWare.. It worked perfectly.. wrote that down too so i know next time. Dont know if ill ever be able to repay you for everything you've taught me, but ill sure try.. thanks bro. -

It prevents system reboot hang after a hibernation. 9c.23.00 fixed the bios issue with the proper driver in Windows 7.......

Hi all. If it helps anybody, I've modified and uploaded the P78 series 9C.23.00 bios with the EIST unlocked. Just click on the link from my signature to try it...

Hi,
I'm new in this forum. I have 7805u laptop right now which I bought used the problem is that I was reading the forum here to overclock my p8400 to 2.4 with 9.0 multiplier. I was surprised to find my laptop is already clocked at 2.4 with an unmodded bios 9C.11.00? is that even possible? I posted a pictureAttached Files:
-
-
oops I uploaded a new one with throttlestop and CPU-Z have the same 9.0 multiplier. Whats weird is that I noticed if I just use the laptop for internet surfing my processor will be clocked to 2.4, but when I start a heavy game like medal of honor or crysis 2 the speed decrease to stock clock and the multiplier goes back to 8.5? I uploaded a snapshot while playing a heavy game and just using my computer.
Thanks -
The laptop will take one core when idle and low single threads or when one thread is running and clock it to 2.4. The other core remains at the lower clock. The idea behind the modded bios is to unlock EIST so that you can force dual IDA or both cores at 2.4 GHz.
-
Thanks for your help and for your swift reply you are right I forget to check the Dual IDA and now my processor is locked at 2.4 regardless of the load.
-
Please forgive an unexperienced newbie! I have been overclocking the 9800m GTS for ages now but only today purchased and installed the X9100 processor. I have been attempting to understand how to overclock this (reading the thread) but am totally at a loss as to what this actually involves! I have throttlestop which seems to be able to do this without having to flash a new BIOS.
In a nutshell, I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me what, in essence, needs to be done to get the X9100 overclocked - aren't I doing it already with ThrottleStop? -
you can do this with TS but you have to set up what you want it overclocked as. This means you need to launch TS evey time you want the x9100 to overclock. you can set up 4 different profiles for speeds along with the required voltages etc............
-
After I read the thread from the beginning I think I see what I did wrong... nvm the question
(Not sure how to delete this so... just edit it >.<)
-
Also I googled EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology), but I'm new to overclocking with Intel chips (though I've been overclocking AMD chips for 10+ years).
I'm assuming this unlocked bios will allow me to use FSB to overclock my cpu with the attached getfsb screenshot.
Thank you for your response(es).Attached Files:

Yes, the unlocked one would just overwrite the original 9c.23.00 bios you have installed.
You'll need to do a hardware mod to the clock generator circuit to allow FSB overclocking of the CPU. That process should be defined somewhere earlier in this thread. The unlocked bios only enables the EIST functionality to be turned on and off. -
So, if I have my x9100, TS and all that jazz...to enable EIST, I will need to install your modded bios correct? Anyone want to explain what increase I will have if I use EIST with the x9100?
-
none with the x9100. The advantage would be if you want to overclock with the FSB with SetFSB and control the vcore and multiplier. The unlocking of EIST really would do nothing for you specifically, it is the mod to unlock the PLL you need.............

I'm always late to the party. I just figured out about IDA trick on my p7805u. At first, I wasn't able to toggle EIST on or off in TS. So I downloaded and installed the new 9c.17 EIST unlocked bios. When I loaded up TS, I was able to toggle EIST on or off. When I first opened up the program, I was able to set my multiplier up to 11.5. After another computer restart, I went to raise the multiplier back to 11.5, but wont go passed 9.0...
My question is, why cant I go back to 11.5?
I did have RMclock installed with settings to run my cpu at a lower volt...but I uninstalled it thinking it might have cause conflict with TS -
GTO_VR4: What CPU do you have? If it's an X9100 then you need to click on the ThrottleStop UNLK button to unlock the maximum multiplier. Download the latest version of ThrottleStop from my sig and delete whatever version you are presently using so you have a clean start. Post some pics so it is easier to figure out the problem.
If you are not using an Extreme processor then head to Intel so you can determine what the default multiplier is for your CPU. -
Thanks for replying.
I have the P8400 CPU. LINK
Now when I open up TS, EIST is checked, then unchecks it self out of nowhere.
Heres a pic:
-
The default multiplier for a P8400 is 8.5 and the IDA multiplier is 9.0.
If you were previously seeing an 11.5 multiplier then maybe you were using ThrottleStop on a different CPU before or some other act of God happened.
8.5 and 9.0 are correct for your CPU. At the moment your screen shot shows that ThrottleStop is trying to lock both of your cores into Dual IDA mode so they are both locked at the 9.0 multiplier.
If you select Start Dual IDA in the right mouse menu or if you have selected Start Dual IDA or Profile 1 in the ThrottleStop Options window then it will cycle EIST on and off to try to lock both cores at the 9.0 IDA multiplier. Uncheck those boxes and don't select that menu item if you don't want this to happen.
At the moment your screen shot shows C0% is at 100.0%. When a CPU is fully loaded or spending all of its time in the C0 state, it won't be able to enter Dual IDA mode. If you used a registry hack to force your CPU into C0 100% of the time then you'll need to fix that if you want to use Dual IDA.
Not all CPUs support Dual IDA but most do. -
Now that you mention it, my CPU has been @ 100% for the longest now. Weird thing is that it not slowing down my computer...nor does it show up in the task manager. I can game and watch movies just fine. RMclock also listed that my CPU was at 100% at all times. Ive done numerous virus scans with different virus scanners. I dont have nothing in startup. Ive updated all my drivers. I still have no clue why my CPU does this. -
What ThrottleStop is telling you is that your CPU is spending 100% of the time in the C0 state. That's not always the same as what the Task Manager shows for CPU Usage. Does the Task Manger show a typical CPU Usage at idle of 5% or 10%?
If a CPU is spending 100% of its time in C0, that means it is not using the low power C1/C3/C6 sleep states when idle. Your laptop will run hot as hell at idle if you prevent it from using at least C1 and battery power consumption will also go way up. Check your bios to see if you have disabled the C States.
There is a registry mod that some people have done to turn off their C States. I'm not a big fan of doing this for the above reason.
Suslik in the ThrottleStop guide thread just fixed this issue and is much happier with his cool running laptop.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...et-upgrades/531329-throttlestop-guide-58.html
If you get this fixed then you should be able to use the Dual IDA trick and get both cores up to the 9.0 multiplier. -
And now for the numbers.
-
Does ThrottleStop show both your cores locked at 9.00 with EIST disabled? That's Dual IDA if you did it right. RM Clock does not support Dual IDA.
CPU-Z will show 9.0 at idle but you have to put a load on both cores like Prime95 to make sure that both cores stay at 9.0.
CPUID Hardware Monitor continues to use the wrong value for TJMax so it reports your core temperatures 5C too low.
You need to edit the hwmonitorw.ini configuation file and change this line from 100 to 105.
CPU_0_TJMAX=105.0
This is the value that Intel recommends for your P8400.

A question about the TME unlock: Is the 10k to ground absolutely necessary? Wouldn't soldering a wire from the pin directly to ground work? I just don't see what the resistor would do.
-
Just wanted to thank everyone for this guide, special thanks to Unclewebb for the software and Kravis for the Modified Bios. Just performed everything now and managed to squeeze the CPU's to be locked at 2.4 happily. Now i need to figure out how to change the VID safely and what the procedure is for that.
Thanks again all,
Demon -
You need to adjust VID before you turn off EIST.
-
hey bud,
Am i right in saying you suggest running a program in the background while changing the VID to test for stability? (forgotten the name but something 95 i think?). And what are the symptoms of an unstable (read: too low voltage) system?
Thanks again,
Demon
Has anyone successfully overclocked p7805u CPU?
