Just Bought These Three Games

Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, and Bioshock. How do you guys think these will run on our FX laptops? What settings do you guys recommend?

COD4 and Everquest 2 run great on high settings too!

 

just remember, with bioshock, it won't run with any the 17x drivers, at least in my expierence, I can only get it to go with the stock driver.

 

I will try Bioshock tonight with the 17x drivers and let you know.

Oh also. I wanted to ask all the 171 FX guys that got their laptop from Gateway a question. How was the bloatware on your system? I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Maybe two or three programs. I haven't done a clean install because of that. My systems running fine and fast and I got a 7400 score on 3dmark06.

What are your guys expriences?

 

I would'nt worry about the bloatware. you can try this program, it uninstalles any crap you don't want, you just check the programs on the list list it brings up and it uninstalls them. I would uninstall the tral versions for anti-virus and internet sercery manuly it worked good for me on quit a few systems. It is also good for people like my grandpa, there is no weay I'm going to walk him though a full reinstall on a new system. there is the link, its freeware to.

I honestly didint think the bloatware was that bad at all, there were only 3-4 programs that I had to uninstall, and the rest was just un-installed ad-ware that I deleted...

About 10 mins of cleaning after I got it and its been perfect...still way under 1mb memory usage...

I am up to 8500 o/c on my sfx...all in all I am very happy with everything...

 

same here, when I booted her up, there was almost nothing on the desktop. My mom got a gateway from newegg and that thing was invested! But she just uses it for school and the internet, so I just uninstalled and did all the vista tweaks.
