    Yeah, thats exactly describes NOD32 and the reason I'm using it. NOD32 does not affect the speed/startup of the computer at all to me. ^^

    I had the same experience with Norton in the past, but they rebuilt it from the ground up, it is not a system hog any more. Read this article from Maximum PC, and judge for your self, I was using AVG 8.0 free before Norton;

    http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/protect_your_pc_from_guys_like_this

    To those who say not to use a anti-virus, thay may work for you, but 98% of the other users have kids, in-laws, and spouses who do not understand when a pop up "pops" up, not to click on it. The truth is you should have some kind of protection, even if you just check email, there are worms out there that you don't need to visit a site to get. One last note, I have not gottedn a virus on any of my systems, but with hardly any system hit why chance it, if I have a lan party and one of my freinds has a dirty computer, I know I am safe too. I game alot, and I will admit I do not bench mark that much, as long as my games play smooth I'm good, why wast time benchmarking a system that runs what you have great :)

    Understandable.
    You can change your drivers anytime you want :)
    Try out the ones flynaz posted, if you don't like those, just install the dox's again :p

    I'm an Avast fan myself. It does the job well, and interferes little durring normal operation. Agreed when it does the system scan it is slow but I do them when I don't need the system anyway.

    I've used both of the (not at the same time on the same PC) free versions of Avast! and AVG and would recommend either.

    Running AVG free on both of my PCs now. I'm not sure, but I think I went with AVG because they had a Vista version at the time.

    The new Norton goes into sleep mode when you go into full screen, like games and movies

    Is that a good idea?

    Couldn't other programs be running in background access the Net and download files?

    No, I don't think so, if your talking about a dialer program, Norton should have already found it.
