Seems like every time the system goes to sleep on battery power it locks up. I don't ever get any other kind of lockup otherwise, but it's really pissing me off. Is there a setting in Vista, or maybe my drive is going bad? I'm going to check my power settings again, but this is really aggravating.. Has anyone else seen this?

I just put my laptop to sleep this morning before I went to work. Came back home and everything works properly. In my power options, the only thing I really changed was having my hard drive run 24/7 (as in, it never goes into sleep regardless of however long it stays in idle state). But keep in mine, when you enter sleep/hibernation mode, everything is basically "off".

When I had a machine that locked up during gaming, it also locked up sometimes when it was in sleep. Could be related...or maybe the one I used to have was really bonkers.

Can you explain what happens wehn you try to wake it? If the screen just stays black, that's not a lockup, it's an error with the screen powering back on and it's native to both XP and Vista in some cases. If it turns back on and then freeze's, THATS a lockup.
New lock up issue w/ 7811 (at least I think so)
