Is anyone else having a problem with your notebook not going into stadby mode after the set period of time you specify. I have mine set for 15 minutes and it never goes into standby mode. I have a 7510gx if that makes a difference. Any suggestions?

You probably have a process running that prevents it from going into standby. Will it go into standby from the shut down screen? If it won't from there, it should say 'such and such not responding. End process now?'.

nope goes into standby and stays when I select it from the start menue. I have also tried uninstalling then reinstalling my video drivers. Still doesn't work correctly.

Figured out what was causing my problems. It was the software\drivers I had downloaded and installed for my media reader. Not sure why they would have messed it up. I had downloaded them directly from gateway and my laptop was listed as being compatable with them. So anyway's anyone else having this problem try that first.
