I'm going to try those when I get home - I am having a severe issue getting the Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 drivers installed for XP 32-Bit. I tried the walkthrough step-by-step, every single driver I try (including the ones mentioned here) end up installing but then failing with a Code 39 which states a problem with possible corrupt drivers, and the "Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221" listing under Sound, Video, etc. has a lovely yellow exclamation point over it saying it's not working.

I can't figure out how to get it working for the life of me. My poor, poor 7811-FX :( All for one silly game too. Ah, nostalgia!

Hey Guys, Can I make a full system recovery DVD and driver DVD after having my computer for about a year? I have upgraded many drivers and installed programs (not a big deal about the program) but, the issue is, will it back up the new drvies or the originals that came with the system?

Nope. It will back up the old drivers, the same ones the Gateway installed. Also it will not back up the applications you installed on the lappy.

I seriously want to give everyone in here a hug. Finding these drivers is a god send.

I can now create two slip stream disks...xp 64 and xp 32 and see how they both run on my hd. (I'm running windows 7, would like to dual boot with one of the xp's)

Ok. I have a P7811FX. I have created a bootable install CD with XP 32 SP3. I slip streamed it with nlite and my real copy of Windows XP. I bought this CD through school way back in the day. I'm not sure if its considered a retail version OEM or VLK.

That said, I can install all the way up until it asks me for a CD key. AT this point, my CD key doesn't work (its legit). It just says I've entered an invalid key. After spending quite a bit of time on google, it appears that you can't slipstream SP3 onto some specific XP CD's. So whatever that may be, I must have it.

If there is a way to slip stream the key onto the bootable disk, that is what I am trying soon.

My 2nd attempt, involved slip streaming SP1 with my original XP disk. That failed too, since SP1 doesn't have PCI video support. I don't even get that far with this CD.

Maybe I can try SP2, but I'm just thinking I'm going to get the same error with invalid key. I'm going to try it anyways, since I have no other options at this point and SP2 does have pci support.

If anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears. :)
