    I was just wondering.

Can ,someone who is the owner of the beauty with the new BIOS 9c.08.00 upload for us the BIOS from his machine using a BIOS upload soft ?

    What do you think ?

later today i will try to upload my bios using soft provided by gateway to update your bios. i think this small program have an option to backup your bios to file. in that case we might be able to upload new bios from the new unit and post it for all.

Look if somebody can backup the new bios from the new unit and share that will be fantastic.

i tried to backup my bios using phlash16 /bu it is progressing to 6% and that is all. i tried off course on the memory stick. I will be trying.

OK...just curious, did anyone else download the BIOS from the Gateway website for the 7811FX and it failed to install for them also? I burned the ISO file to a CD and booted from it and soon after got the error I have see a few other people talk about. After looking at it, the version number does not even seem to match the scheme of the current BIOS.

Lytewing that bios was not meant to be on our machines in the first place . the people that run the gateway website or maybe even there tech and i use that term very loosely have no clue whats going on . Were waiting to get a new bios and E-wrecked has been working his tail off (if he has one ) to get the job done for us .

I kind of thought that. Like I said, the version number did not even look in line with what was installed in my system.

I saw the thread about the newer BIOS but it does not look like anyone is having any luck getting a clean copy of it that works. Maybe soon....I am having a problem running World of Warcraft without getting a Error #132 and had hoped a BIOS upgrade might help.

i just read up on your problem and you could try pulling one stick of ram and playing the game that way and if it happens again swap the stick with the one you pulled out the first time etc. If its your ram you could just return your machine if its not to late or call gateway and see if they can get you a new stick . Other then that it said it wasnt the game causing it but could be a bad OS install . have you updated your direct x files ? i would try everything without going overboard and wasting to much time . You may have tried all these things but im just making some suggestions .

I have not tried swapping ram but I have updated all aspects of the OS and drivers that I can. I read on various forums that this is usually not really a memory issue even though it usually sounds like it is. What makes me feel that way is the fact that all my other games run flawlessly and many of them are far more CPU/Memory/Graphically intensive than WoW. Games like Lord of the Rings Online, Spore, and Warmonger all run for hours with no hitch (and Warmonger even uses Physix accelleration on the GPU). We will see as time goes on I suppose. Thanks you for the suggestions at any rate, I really appreciate them.
