Shipping time frame kinda for P-171x fx

man I dont know about yall but I am really thing of buying a Clevo M570RU-U it comes with a 8800 GTX and a 1900/1200 screen barebone laptop here is the configuration http://www.rjtech.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=M570RU-U I have already bought a T9300 and I have vista and ram and a 250 5400 harddrive. Heck by the time my FX gets here the 9800m gtx will be out..... then what.... u can not update the fx gpu but you can the clevo. Just something to think about.....

They only mean they will price match for another Clevo of the same model, not another laptop brand.
Hmm, I don't really like how the base configuration doesn't even come with a hard drive, cpu, memory or operating system. Even if you wanted to get this Clevo model, I think you could find it somewhere else that's a little less shady looking :/

 

Well I already have a T9300 extra copy of Vista ram and a 250wd hdd so I can just get the barebone deal and not the otherstuff. I was going to put all that in my 171X FX but If I did that it still would not be as fast as the clevo. Also you can put the new 9800GTX in it when they come out if they will work on the 965chipset. cool huh. Only thing is I bought ACCidental warreny with my FX cant get it with this clevo.... man I wish we could get the 8800 gtx in the fx DANG It....

 

I ordered my 171s FX at the beginning of february, and just today my visa has finally been charged. oddly enough, i've been charged an amount different from when i last spoke with a rep. my order status says my estimated arrival date is the 10th, this coming monday.

has anyone else had their accounts charged already? and was it for the right amount? anyone else having problems (aside from waiting) with the gateway reps?

 

I looked at mine and it said the 11 is the arrival date but it still says it is in processing not production and the card has not been charged...

 

very strange for me too. I just checked my Gateway account, and I was charged too. I was charged the right amount though. BUT, I did remember my rep telling me that I would NOT get charged until my laptop has been shipped. I'll asked them on Monday what is up.

 

if you guys were already charged that means that your system is on its way (shipped out) !!! Thats what i was explained by my sales rep. In addition, the WEB status never changes, unless your system was already received by you.

 

I'm waiting till you guys receive them and tell me they're great before I jump on it... >.> The "life" of my quote is until the 15th...

contacted Gateway sales dept. today ! Yep, sales, as they have the most up-to-date info ! Sales dude stated that the first shipment date is 14th of March !

 

yeah nm guys...I wasn't charged. I contacted the gateway card people and they said that the money was just put on hold. and that was from the 11th of Feb. So yeah, I still have to wait 2 weeks too

 

this sucks I am getting a sager 5793 and i can get it next week I just called gateway and they said that my shipment was pushed back so now the FX should be at my door step on the 20th of march.... dam it.....

 

I would do that too...but I'm only paying 1600 for my 171s FX. to get a decent sager would be 2300. I can't afford that

 

I paid a little over 1300 for my sfx, can't afford the extra Grand for a sager either, so it is time to enjoy the waiting process....Really frustrating, but not really any other choices out there, there is absolutely nothing comparably priced from any vendor...

 

Great, just got an email saying that the new ship date is on 3/28. I ordered on 2/04/08, did anyone who ordered before me get a different new ship date?

 

zombie, i ordered a day after you and saw on my order status today (i check it everyday) that it got bumped to the 28th as well. it was really nice of them to send you an email though. they've stopped responding to me!!!!

i believe on page 5 of this thread, a rep named Cody said they would be shipping by the end of this week. hopefully he's right, and hopefully these laptops are the **** because my experiences with gateway customer service have been utter crap. i checked out some feedback from sites like resellerratings and the like, and many people are saying the same thing. reps changing the quoted price, or not honoring what a different rep said. check your invoice and bank account when you actually receive your item ... make sure they dont' try to screw you over. they've already changed my price a couple of times, but supposedly they now have the correct price in their systems. this is so ridiculous

 

The Gateway website has March 28th for a delivery date on P-171x fx too, if you order today. I think what it is Gateway receives these Laptops from China in a big shipment. That being said, I think anyone who ordered this laptop from day one untill now will probubly recieve it around the same time. I also think once you get a order confirmation (not a Quote) your price should be locked, if not that will truely be uncool. My Gateway Rep told me last week the laptops should be in this week for China, two to three days after that they will start to ship them out. I hope this is the case, he also said we should start getting emails this week, at lest thats happening

 

Well my Order Status still says 3/11, so I guess I can expect my Laptop tomorrow, sweet...I think I will take off of work and wait for delivery! Note: Sarcasim....

 

oh noes! have you guys started to receive emails already? i haven't received anything from dell in 2 1/2 weeks, including questions about my order to the gateway email customer support. i'm glad we have this forum; it helps (in a way) to figure out what the bleep is goin' on!

ok, i just spoke to my sales rep. She said that there is two incoming shipments. One around 14th, and the second around 20th. The one which is on 14th is "priority". And the way how she explained it to me is that it will be for those who placed their orders on the first day of pre-sale release. Basically 01/31/2008. So, if you placed your order on 31st of January your EDA should be 18th of March. Funny thing is that i did place my order on 31st of January, and about 10 minutes ago my EDA was changed from 11th to 18th !! Well....how many more different dates will we be getting ?!?!
I mean WTF , China is not on the Moon ....

 

the 28th that sucks I call gateway yesterday and they told me the 20 was when Mine was showing up at my door step. Also just to confirm I called today and asked another person and they confirmed the 20. This is bull crap.. oh ya also I just for fun received a quote for one for my wife and the total price was 2477 for the P171x fx that was with the 3 year warranty and 3 accidental to. also the guy knew how much I paid for mine and he still quoted me that ridicules price. My total was 2000 and I got the 3yr warranty and 3 accidental also a free VX revolution cordless mouse and a 240 converter for IRAQ...

I'm about to do horrible things to gateway. I just got an email saying my order has been delayed and now my EAD is 3/31/08. I'm gonna call and complain today. I normally never do, I'm not that type of person...but this just isn't right. So far, this is the worst experience I've ever had with a company. I am so unhappy, this is not even funny.

 

I woke up this morning to the 3/31/08 email as well, I ordered on 2/7, I mean WTF, thats 2 months...I don't think Gateway cares, they know you can't go anywhere else for the price...

 

I just talked to my sales rep guy and he did confirm the email I got, and that I should have received it. It is by law that they need to send out this email if the customer does not receive their order by the estimated arrival date. He also told me that he knows of only ONE shipment coming in for both P-171S FX and P-171X FX models and that is slated for this week. The shipment consists of 504 of each model, which to his knowledge, should be more than enough to supply pre-orders and even orders that would be placed today.

He also told me that reps have heard that tracking numbers have already started going out via email to the customers, which makes him believe that they have already received the laptops. He also told me that I should receive a tracking number as well within the next couple days.

And I quote him...."Listen to me, no what the email is telling you."

He told me that he was actually glad that I called because he didn't want his customers to feel they had to wait another month.

 

Thank you for the heads up, thats is about what I have heard too, keep in mind we all did preorder a band new product line from gateway. They are bond to have some issues, most of us where told we would get our laptops by mid March, so really its only 2 weeks late, not too bad. Dont get me wrong, I want my laptop yesterday too, but lets be real, two weeks late on a brand new Gameing Laptop that is much cheaper than the rest, very upgradeable, and looks cool too. I can wait till next week, its one less week of intrest on my credit card too

 

okay, so remember that incorrect charge i mentioned earlier? well, they cleared that up, only to make another incorrect charge to my account ..... AND i'm not receiving any of these emails guess they can break the law with me

 

when is your estimated arrival date? you should be getting an email on that date.

 

it was originally 3/10 and now the status on the website says the 28th, but i haven't received any email from them since mid february. didn't receive an email from my chat with chance, which i thought was supposed to be logged and emailed to us.

 

Are you guys just checking your status at the gateway website? I have been checking my status everyday and my date hasnt changed. I ordered on 02/22/08. my ship date is 03/17/08

 

I have not recived Sh*& from them I should have recived it today the only way I get information from them is me calling this is pretty bad customer service.... I sure hope my warrenty is not this way....

 

Hey here is something to thank about, What if Gateway is doing this on purpose to get us to cancel our orders because the FX is selling so well and since everyone one of us only paid around 1650 for most of the 171X models.. Now gateway can sell them for however much they want now that they know there is a large following for these computer I think that they did not anticipate they would be such a huge seller as well….

 

A company trying to improve their image wouldn't want to us cancel our orders, since they would effectively lose us in terms of brand loyalty. I've been thinking ... Acer acquired them around October of last year, so it's been about 6 months for them to transition to the new operations. Could it be that all this confusion is the result of the transition? It seems unfathomable that a large company wouldn't have the training and tools for their customer service reps. Or this could all just be bad management.

I'm beginning to wonder (and worry) that there is some fundamental flaw / incompatibilities in the design of these new FX lappies.

If the service is like this before we actually have our laptops, what is it like after??

 

I dont think they expected it to have this big of a following I mean Look at the best buy version they can not keep them in stock.....

 

Well I got the imfamouse email today, Delayed untill April 1st (April Fool's Day) lolThe email did say it maybe sooner. I am still hopeing for next week some time

 

I think Chinese New Years may have messed up the process, maybe they took two or three weeks off and it threw off the timing?

I wish Gateway would send some sort of explanation, just to curb imaginations and worries.

 

I am just frustrated with the reality of the situation...there is absolutely nothing comparable, the closest thing is the Sager, and that can't be built and shipped comparably for less than $2300...

The $1300 was a stretch for me financially, so not having any choice but to sit and wait for Gateway to do whatever, whenever they want sucks

Yeah...I saw that too, but I was standing in Best Buy about 3 weeks ago, when the $1199 sale was going on, with one in my hand, with 18 month no interest financing, but I had already ordered mine from gateway 2 weeks earlier...my G/F was with me and told me I should just not be impatient and stick with the better model that I ordered and wait....Been kicking myself for a while over that one

 

cancelled my order with gateway and ordered from bestbuy..... says i'll receive it by fri! thx for the tip!!

 

btw guys, about 2 minutes after i cancelled my order, my original rep called me to leave me a message. said that she would give me a discount if i reordered the laptop through her, saying that they are scheduled to arrive this week (for the priorities) and ship out early next week. just more confirmation on what we heard already. but i don't trust em good luck to you all, i will be in the 6831 forums

 

I've been lurking here for weeks awaiting my laptop, and finally decided to register and chime in, mostly to calm my anticipation. I too canceled my order for a P-171S FX and ordered the BB model. I plan on upgrading the processor anyway, so why not save some money and get it sooner (hopefully Friday).

They also told me when I canceled that they SHOULD have about 300 coming in in the next few days, and that my order would be maybe about 3-4 days late. Original ETA was 3-17.

but, i was told today that my order is prioritized and that it will be shipped with next day FedEx. I placed my order on 01.31.2008

 

digital, her name is jasmine ... she didn't say how much she would give me a discount for and i didn't ask, simply because i was offered discounts from other reps that weren't actually applied. i.e. it was never entered into the system, so everytime i talked to a rep, i had to explain the same thing over again. so at this point i don't trust that i would get the discount and have it applied to my order. i'd imagine having to fight for my money back and all this waiting and stress caused from the bad service has got me fleeing. if ya feel lucky tho, i'd recommend cancelling your order ... they asked what my reason for cancelling was and i went off on all the bad service. that i was ignored for 2 weeks by the customer service reps (email). immediately after cancelling "my" rep (who i hadn't spoken to since feb 5th when i ordered) called and emailed me to try to save the order. i told her i was just fed up. if you cancel your order, your rep will most likely call you to save the order. let me know how that goes

ps. i don't know **** about laptop mobos and i'm guessing that all the FX's (including the 6831) are using the same one. my question to ya'll is if we can eventually upgrade these with mobile quads at the end of the year?
