I know that there was a post around here about this but I can't seem to find it. I am posting here for the beta but the RC may be different when it comes out.
Sound, Video, and Modem were either taken care of during the install or Windows Update
Wireless worked right away.
Ethernet was installed by force installing the driver for the Marvell Yukon 88E8071
SMBus was installed by installing the chipset drivers on the CD
Updated to a better storage controller driver by downloading the driver package for vista on the intel site and installing it in Vista compatiblity mode. On that note I actually got the package for the Intel Turbo Memory cards. It includes a recent storage controller driver. This will also install the Intel Matrix Storage Console which does work fine in Windows 7.
The Mass Storage Controller driver entry was fixed by installing the O2 Media Reader MR510 driver from the CD. It also made the SDA generic entry disappear.

Install the chipset inf pm45 , worked for me

Actually it turned out to be the media card reader slots. Only part got recognized.

Well, we can hope that Gateway will put out Windows 7 drivers for the components given the systems are so "new" when the OS reaches retail.
-
Yep although they really won't have to worry about much.

I doubt gateway will add windows 7 drivers to their support site. Our laptops came with Vista 64, which is the only OS supported by gateway for the p7805/p7801. Vista drivers work for 7 anyways, its not necessary.

i got my windows 7 working 95% with everything on the first boot by installing vista x64 and its drivers then upgrading to win 7. the only thing that i had to install after the upgrade was the vid card drivers.

I'm at this step right now and I was wondering if you had to go with the gateway version of the nvidia drivers first. For some reason the nvidia site drivers didn't cut it.

nevermind it has just been awhile. I haven't done a graphics driver in a while. I went with the 190.15 off the laptop site. Worked fine. I launched borderlands browsing to steam on my vista drive and it worked perfectly.
So now my machine defaults to Vista. It can boot to windows 7 though and it seems for some reason to run the processors cooler according to hwmonitor. I was really shocked by that. So far everything including sound are working terrific. I have a few things to check but so far so good. -
I installed Windows 7 without a hitch, aside from having to manually install the drivers for the media reader. Does anyone get the issue of when playing back full screen video, everything is basically choppy and pixelated?
Yes I have the right drivers, I downloaded the ones directly from NVIDIA. -

In Windows Media Player, everything works fine without an issue. But in anything else, VLC, Winamp, or Quicktime, everything becomes pixelated at full screen.

Migrated over to Win7 yesterday and the only niggle i am having is something called "Teredo Pseudo Tunnelling Interface" which is popping up in Device Manager.
Never had this come up before when i was running Vista. Then again, I simply let Win7 automatically install any drivers required by the 7805u apart from the O2 media reader which i did manually.
Is this interface thing related to IPv4/v6 and if so, will manual installtion of specific 7805u drivers fix the issue or will i have to look elsewhere for a solution?
thanks in advance. -
I never had your problem though -
Is anyone having problems with lag? In terms of when i double click on a .avi file it takes a long time for media player classic to pop up and play it. Also a few other programs seem to have this problem as well. I'm using a P-7811FX

I only have one issue right now and its extremely huge for me, but may be small for others.. HDMI Audio is not working. First it would say plugged in and audio just wouldnt work at all. Now I've installed DOX and it says "Not Plugged In" even though it is. Video works GREAT with HDMI, but no audio.
I'm extremely upset because I use HDMI Audio every single day for work and home.
Any ideas? -
I did an upgrade on my vista x64 to Win 7 x64 ultimate and all of my drivers worked except for the storage controller that was easily fixed by updating the driver on that to the win 7 version. Absolutely flawless upgrade and props to Windows for making this very easy.
