Simply overwrite the C:\Program FIles\GIGABYTE\SmartManagerV3 folder with the one in the .7z file, replacing all existing files.

I got it to work, and the max fan speed setting does seem to be working, which it doesnt on the newer versions. So it is an improvement at least. However, even when in 'eco mode', the fans are still spinning when idling on desktop doing nothing. Temp seems to be hovering around 40C still. It used to be silent until temps got above 60C. I could stream youtube and netflix without the fans spinning, which was nice because of the noise and also it seemed to help against dust.

In power options, my CPU cooling preferences are also set to passive instead of active.

Anyone know how to fix the fan speed idle issue I'm having? It's my only real gripe with the laptop and it started to happen suddenly around a year ago (maybe after some random updates).

Hello, new member needs help. I successfully replaced the wifi adapter in my P35Xv3, but on opening the case found the battery was swollen. I decided to remove the battery since the case wouldn't close, and was actually beginning to crack. Once I removed the battery, I can't boot into Windows, I just get the bios or a Windows repair/recovery, which does nothing. My hard drives and files are still there, my Windows Restore checkpoints are even showing up, but don't work. Am I doomed to reinstall Windows 7?

Might try a different battery and see if it's just glitching the laptop not having it in there?

    1. try to remove the RAM and put it back
    2. try to put the battery back

AND one thing important is that never try to do the things above while AC power is plugged

So it would appear that my 4k screen now has a line or two of pixels that are malfunctioning. There's a visible vertical line about an inch from the left edge of the screen that cuts through everything. Not sure if it's a one-off problem, one that will spread, or what. And based on the experience I had with Gigabyte's horrible customer service last time I sent it in for factory work...I'm sadly inclined to just tolerate it.

Good thing my Borg PC will be arriving this month. I'll finally be able to have a desktop where I won't worry about overheating or any of the other issues that Gigabyte seems famous for.

    P.S.
It's definitely a hardware issue. It's on the BIOS screen.

Soooooo, my thermal pads melted XD

I'm looking into buying replacements, what would the appropriate thickness be ? 0,5 mm, 1 mm, 1,5 mm ?

Hi, which version of the P35X are you using?
I have this info in one of the previous posts of this thread, though it’s for the P35X-v3.
    Would this help at all?

I think Throttlestop is the best and most reliable way to do it (Thanks, UncleWebb!). There is a forum devoted to the program. You can download the latest version from UncleWebb's signature. If your CPU is 7700HQ (I think it is), you may be able to undervolt by ~ 100 mv. You should undervolt CPU and cache by the same amount. Lots of folks on that forum can help with additional info, and there is also a manual there.
    Best,
    Joe

The 6700 HQ tolerates undervolting quite well. Mine was stable at - 150 mv - I subsequently backed off a little, to -140 mv to be conservative. I have seen quite a few others reporting stability in the same range. Makes a big difference when running under full load, e.g. processing a lot of digital pictures at the same time..

    p35x v3 power issues

my sons laptop stopped charging whilst we were on holiday, I assumed it to be a power brick issue. Upon returning form holiday i have tried no less than 7 different power supplies. It came with a delta ADP 180 MB H. I tried lots of other aftermarket ones and all but one had no effect on power at all.. one of them would apply power to the laptop and then power would go off..

so i thought i must need the exact model. So i contacted a supplier and asked for the adp 180 mb h, they sent me a adp 180 mb k.. I tried it and it doesnt work either.

I am now starting to think that it is the laptop itself that is at fault.

Does anyone have any experience with power faults on this or similar models?

    So, I was watching this:

And I started wondering if I should try it, I have a P35X V6, the 1070 can easily push above 90 fps on 1080p, has anyone tried on this line of laptops (P35X) ?

Most recent bios on web site is FB15/FD15 F00F, from 6/29/18 for my v5. I was told by Gigabyte support that provided at least some of the fixes. Bios for your machine may well be numbered differently and will differ due to hardware differences, so you should not use the v5 version. You might use Gigabyte's email to support and ask them. I did, and they responded.

One of my P35X V3 fans started making lots of noise. I suspect the bearing is failing. Sometimes restarting the laptop makes the noise go away but if I move it slightly when in use the fan starts rattling again.

Anyone know where I can source a new fan?

So the 4k screen on my v6 is dying. i had 1 line of pixels out. now i've got a corner in the top left and several lines of pixels that are FUBAR, and gently pressing on the back of the lid makes them flicker.

I cannot stress how poor the build quality is on this laptop. I'm actually mortified.

Hello!. I have Gigabyte P35Wv2 my laptop discharges the battery in the off state. 10% per 24 hours. Help. Someone knows how to solve my problem ? tried everything helps nothing. I think this is due to charging technology, which remains active when the laptop is turned off. I can not turn off this function

Oops wrong forum, I was replying to a search result. I have an Aero 15xv8

I'm on the same boat, I seem to have the keyboard double entry issue for two keys (for now). Scared to return it. I also have a faulty USB C, it is only good for charging, my devices aren't being recognized when I choose "file transfer". Would they give a replacement or repair? Anyone know what the procedure will be for these issues?

The keyboard on my P35Xv3 is broken. Gigabyte support told me that the laptop is too old (4 years) and they do not have any replacement parts. I couldn't find anything on Amazon or ebay. Does anyone know where I could find a replacement keyboard?

My battery is also completely dead. Any ideas where I can buy a new one?

    Thanks!

My P35XV3-CF4 thinks it's running on battery even when it's plugged in to the wall.

I bought a replacement battery, and during the replacement I may have shorted something and now it no longer detects that it's getting power from the wall outlet.

Any ideas where the problem is? if it's the motherboard, then where can I get a replacement?
