I would have to take laptop apart. It's built in. But u have a program on my laptop that says it's the bigger battery.

I should probably open it and check to see though.

    But the program says it's:

    Designed capacity = 63536
    Total capacity = 61864
    Wear level = 2.63 %

    Total discharges = 2

Availibilty seems to be a problem. Thats the thing. No adapter needed - you just plug in the charging chord of the laptop. The capacity is mediocre and it charges with 85W max.

But is there a US version because plug does not look like it would work.

So the 63536 is in Wh or just some arbitrary number? Unfortunately, the only way to solve this is just to open her up. I would seriously love you if you could take picture of the label too.

ok I just had to plug in my laptop.

died at 4% at 6:10 PM.

first class started around 11:00 AM and I am in my last class.
I did not charge the battery at all. This will not be normal because I will charge it between classes normally.
Also I just did some research and next time I will turn off bluetooth and wifi when not needed and probalby get
    a little more juice.

I was thinking about heavily returning this laptop but I think I am going to keep it becuase its a power
    house.

like yes I could get a mac book pro and have crazy battery life but i just looked up
their latest specs and Intel HD Graphics are a joke.

So I think I am very satisfied to have a slim, power house sleeper, with decent battery life
and if I do anything I will buy a battery pack like this one and life will be perfect.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DN0KBXU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AVWEWK27WU24S

In life you always have to have a give and take and to have super performance and extreme battery
life is not possible in a slim form factor.

So this is my new laptop and I hope this helps someone in the nasty decision hell of laptop buying
    process.

    Good luck everyone.

I will try to do that for you. I would like to know as well. Here is a picture of what my software program says about the battery.

the discharge rate is between 7w to 17w on average.

that sounds about normal for a notebook like that.

I always turn off bluetooth and when not needed the wifi, that gives me 10h of battery life in my mbp 13 from early 2011, and the battery capacity is quite similar if I'm not mistaken

Yes I will be very interested to see if I put screen on Zero Brightness, turn off bluettooth, and turn off wi-fi. After doing this I bet I get a solid 5-6 hours of battery life. Or more than enough for each class and then charge at lunch or something.

In any case if I had an extra small battery pack it would solve the problem with no problems what so ever guaranteed. and I could use that pack for cell phone, gps, laptop or whatever. So it wouldn't just be for laptop.

I'll have to check again adapter didn't look right but I'll check.

Ya I think the best option is to get the battery pack.

I will get a solar panel charger that can charge the battery pack or charge it before I leave the house through it in the bag and I'm good. I have an incredible small form factor gaming machine with i7 and 860m. Are you serious.

Thats smacks up mac book pro with intel graphics lol.

I seriously almost thought of the Sager 13.3 860m again because I thought the battery life would be better but its not. its 5-6 hours to and looks so big. almost twice the size in thickness.

The only option left is the Razer Blade but that laptop I hear gets really hot and I do not want my parts melting after a year plus I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH RESOLUTION ISSUESS. going back in forth changing my resolutions because of games. If you don't believe me try it for yourself and you will see. Plus the screen is horrid for the price. This matte gigabyte screen is absolutely beautiful.

So like i said before this laptop with a battery pack charger is the perfect setup. Or if you disable everything and go into power save mode you might be able to squeeze 6-7 hours. I will know thursday.

Also this laptop runs so cool. gaming on it i do not notice any heat what so ever.

I also put in the 2133 16gb of ram which works right out of the box like someone else did.

now i just need to map my gaming controller to all my games and I am ready to rock.

The ultimate battery charger would be the one that you could game on. like a 32000 mh with correct output. lol

    Side note:

Why can't I install XTU on this system. It says "Attempted to install on an unsupported platform!" Does my bios have to be unlocked or something? What bios or software do I need to overclock my CPU? Or is this a locked CPU?

I can at least use Nvidia Inspector right?

Is there a better one for this laptop?

So I'm having a kinda funny issue... My CPU is running to cool xD
Here's where the problem lies: I undervolted/underclocked my CPU and it run at about 78-79 under full load. The problem is, at that temperature the fan is quiet and slow. However, due to my heavily OC'd GPU, the GPU temps skyrocket while fan stays slow. It seems like fan speed is based on CPU temperature only. My GPU even hit 88 degress! :0 When running on Turbo fan mode, CPU is around 70 and GPU around 70 as well but this is not possible unless wearing headphones... Any way to modify the fans? I'd like them to kick in harder when CPU temperature is 75 + and also not to kick in untill CPU reaches 65 degrees (Which never happens on idle). I do have a potential way of unlocking a bunch of hidden features. Would anyone be interested in checking it out? Apparently you can also get fan control! Here is an album of the options you will now have.

Where can I get that moded bios? That looks amazing. Can I underclock my voltage so my battery lasts longer?

Have you used the smart manager to see if you can adjust fans probably useless huh?

"this guy" (me) used a custom made BIOS by Prema. I'm trying to work with him on getting a release out for all you guys but he doesn't really want to at this point. "too much work" he says... idk it's kinda ty but I will try to make my own and hope to release to you guys sometime. Like I said, I can potentially unlock it BUT not the video card clocks. Would anyone be interested in trying?

wow is this laptop that new? Is is the same unlock that the other buy post a few posts ago? It looked awesome with everything unlocked. Is that what you have?

Also Im about to pull the trigger on this:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DN0KBXU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AVWEWK27WU24S

my power supply says 19.5 V output. and this is 19v or 20v. Could I put it on 19v or 20v and it will work to charge my laptop or do I need to find one that is exactly 19.5v?

Battery life is OK, not great like the 61wh version but I get about 3.5 hours of constant usage. However, it gets me through a full day at school as it is "sleeping" most of the time. Whats your Battlefield 4 name? We should definitely play some time :)

I either use teamspeak when playing with a large group or the built in VOIP when playing with randoms/small squad. I was going to pick up titanfall but decided against it due to the repetitive gameplay :p

Personally I avoid SLI if I can. Remember if each GPU provides X power, SLI does not get you 2X, most often its ~1.8X. Also, 2 GPU's in a laptop just doesnt seem to make sense to me. That totals to 3 MAJOR heat sources in the laptop. In the p34gv2 the battery (component which is most sensitive to damage from heat) is well protected. With 3 heat sources though, there is no way they were able to keep palm rests/battery cool. In addition, overclocking is again limited due to thermal limitations. Finally this laptop is not really in the same class as the P34gv2. It is not light/portable (relative to the p34gv2) and it does not have a business/sleeper look. Thats what I love about this laptop. It looks like an OK ultrabook with integrated graphics but than BOOM, you have GTX 870m equivalent performance level!

Hi guys just wondering my model has the 256gb SSD in it and I am impressed since installing Windows 8.1 Pro on it. I have been running multiple office windows, browsing, youtube, visual studio and it doesn't get loud at all (I am sure it will when I start gaming). Only downfall is the battery which I can make last well over 3 hours since I have the brightness down to a comfortable level when I am programming or just browsing the internet.

The 3 batteries listed in the specs include:
    Li-polymer, 11.1V, 47.73Wh
    Li-polymer, 14.8V, 63.64Wh
    Li-polymer, 15.2V, 61.25Wh

Gigabyte sent me this message when I asked about the battery "Regarding to the battery issue, due to the product design, the battery will not allow to change one with longer battery life.". Sounds like an excuse to me since its under warranty not even a week old yet and probably don't want to change it for me yet.

I want to know which battery my model has (can you check in device manager?) and if its possible to upgrade to a more life efficient one, that's if mine doesn't already have it.

Hey guys new user here and I'd thought I'd share my experiences with the P34.

To make it perfectly clear I am running the P34G V2CF2 with the 47.xx battery (whatever it is).

    Specs:
    128 mSata boot drive
    8gb ripjaw ram
    250 samsung 840 evo
    discrete gpu 860m

I applied ICD 7 myself its been about 4 days since applied.

Ambient room temperature is 83º F, fans are running in AUTO, power plugged in and running at HIGH PERFORMANCE. No CPU undervolting or GPU OC.

Pic #1 is of 45 minutes of prime95 with the above settings. As you can see the temps are acceptable when it comes to CPU usage.

cpu stress 40 min auto fan high performance ac_dc icd7 no undervolting stock config.jpg

Pic #2 is GPU running in the background with Heaven making passes 2-3 times. This was mainly done to see that the GPU was being recognized during moderate load. (F9 / Start benchmark was not applied here yet!)

    background heaven.jpg

Pic #3 & 4 is GPU and CPU stress running Heaven 4.0 Benchmark after letting it go for 3 passes at normal settings then finally running the benchmark at the following specs shown in the picture below.

gpu and cpu test heaven auto fan high performance settings icd7.jpg
    uheaven score.jpg

To me these temps are meh :\ However I have never owned a gaming laptop or gaming ultra book, I am spoiled by big desktop chassis and water cooling :) I use this machine mostly in between breaks from class, in class to type notes and for mild gaming (mostly League of Legends atm). I spend a lot of time in my schools library and the fan doesn't kick on to max setting when left in "AUTO" mode, and the times I do hear it go on its mild and soft. I actually believe the only reason the fan comes on is because the GPU needs cooling. During prime95 test I never heard the fans turn on or get loud at all. They may have ramp'd up to a very low speed for a couple a seconds before tuning itself down to a silent style mode. Even while in bed next to my girl she isn't bothered or can't hear the fans in auto mode while gaming within a 3 ft of distance, if she does she hasn't mentioned anything about it or hasn't heard it all together.

During the Heaven benchmark the fans while in "AUTO" mode never made it to its MAX fan speed setting. This wasn't because I missed it, you know when the fans are at MAX because it sounds like a leaf blower lol :p All I heard was its normal fan spin set by the bios curvature, which was very much audibly acceptable - a feint light consistent spin, but nothing close to being loud or distracting.

All in all I am happy with this machine. It is blazing fast like a pizza fresh out the oven! I would very much like to somehow lower the GPU temps so I can experiment OCing, maybe a different thermal compound? In the market for Ultra Gaming Notebooks I really only see 3 choices. The RAZER BLADE 14, Gigabyte P34G V2, and the newly released Aorus X3 PLUS.

If I had unlimited $ to choose between any of the 3 notebooks I would go with Aorus X3 PLUS > Gigabyte P34 > RB 14 ( however I need to note that if the Aorus temps were to high or not up to my standards I would definitely send it back and experiment with another notebook that hopefully had better temps), however I am very happy with my purchase. Based off my specific wants and needs these were the only 3 choices I could consider. I really didn't want to move up to the 15 inch lineup of notebooks unless the hardware to dollar was significant and the chassis had amazing cooling. The only machine I would consider outside the P34 and Aorus X3 PLUS range would be Gigabyte P35W v2 which was only $200 up from my 14 inch form factor gaming beast :) with a better GPU and 3 slots of expandable storage, but it has a lengthier chassis.

Bang for buck the Gigabyte P34G v2 is a beast and actually stays cooler than the RB 14. Albeit the RB and Aorus are running a 870m I couldn't convince myself that the price per performance is there, more so on the RB side than the Aorus.

Any P34 V2 owners who are getting better GPU temps what thermal paste are you guys running? The GPU temps I'd like to get down by say 4ºC and I'd be a happy camper :D

I am not interested in the auros x3 plus in the slightest. If you were barley satisfied with the Temps of the 860m wait till you touch a 870m frame. You almost can burn your hands. To me this was a no brainer. The price of an 870m in anything was not worth the heating issues verse price performance increase. I do not want my ultra book melting after a couple of years.

Also anything over 1080p in my mind is absolute garbage for gaming at the moment in my opinion. Sure is it awesome and fun but right now it's just a novelty. Watch any serious review and gamers are having very difficult times switching between native resolution and 1080p on those machines. I not going to spend 2k on anything that I have to deal with outside the norm.

P34g v2 = make you wanna slap your mom ma.

Stays the coolest with the most power. I could care less about fan noise but on the CF4 I barley notice it. Maybe they improved it.

This thing rocks. Decent battery life and a sleeper look that o love.

I live in a big city and if I am in school with a hot razer on the desk and I go out and take a . Damn. There went my razer. Now I don't have to be paranoid that everyone is going to be gawking at my piece. (Pun intended)

In any case everyone's alternative choices that they had to think about are awesome but at the end of the day you always go back to that ol faithfull coyote ugly sleeper. She has a nice rack under the hood but you wouldn't know unless you looked closely.

    I'll post my Temps soon.

We need to form an alliance and mod this beast to optimal performance.

Unlock bios and over clock video card.

Oh ya try over clocking the 870m with decent temps. Epic fail.

Anyway super nice reviewan. Congrats on purchase. Welcome to the brotherhood.

Yea, I don't like the 870m either. It's also kepler only so OC'ing it will suck. To be honest, I think the 860m is the best choice for laptops (MUST be maxwell). I just wish there was a 1600x900 screen instead of 1080. This is about a 20fps bump in some games! On a 14 inch screen, 1600x900 looks just as good while giving you ALOT more fps, saving battery life and running cooler.

Looks like after running BatteryCare I have the 11.2v , 47.73Wh version. Is it possible to change it? and if so which would be best for battery life?

Also has anyone else's mouse buttons popped up at all? Been using it for a week and the left click side is slightly raised can't really notice it but if you move your finger over it you can feel it.

I totally agree with a lot of what you said. Based off my wants & usage, and if my bank roll was not a factor I would like to test the Aorus X3 PLUS because the screen looks beautiful, however if cooling was on the high side or not to my standards I would have returned it. Anyone looking to purchase a notebook with the ability for gaming should first commit to a size & then consider the following: price point versus hardware, temps, and upgrade-ability.

When it comes to 14' & thin gaming notebook there really is no better choice hands down :hi2: I love how gigabyte doesn't rip your balls off when it comes to price per performance; I feel they were even very generous with the Auros X3 PLUS model compared to the RB14. I know I keep bringing up the RB14 but its because at the time it was the only other model I was comparing off of in the 14 inch form.

Gigabyte's P34G V2 is by far the best bang for the buck, it has so much hardware and a Windows 7 OS option (which for me was another plus). The RB14 looks great and has a great color scheme, but really the hardware doesn't justify the price point. A mod for the bios is something I'm sure a lot of people would like to see. And yes, please get back to me with your temps and the paste you used along with the method. I forgot to mention I used the grain of rice method on both the GPU and CPU (I did 2 smaller grains on the CPU and a regular sized for the GPU - for the sake of accuracy and science I thought I'd mention that :p)

I have the opposite problem. My touch pad left button is slightly sunk in and the right side raises up and flushes perfectly with the surface. It really isn't a big deal I didn't even notice it until you asked and I've had the machine for almost a month now.

That looks perfect; I can't really see where it's sunk in? Definitely acceptable if you ask me

The problem though isn't the look its the feel of it. On mine I am semi-cautious now when clicking. I understand the specs are high and its quite good for the money so didn't expect the build to be of the highest quality but the touchpad is probably the most sensitive part on a laptop with the exception of some internals it should be a little bit better. If mine gets any worse gonna have to sort it out with warranty.

    Hey guys!

    I have a quite stupid question =)
I ordered the XMG C404 without a SSD or HDD because they where quite expensive at XMG.
Bought a Crucial M550 512GB and today everything arrived but actually i'm not sure how to put the SSD into the C404.

Can anyone give me a step by step tutorial like if i'm five? xD
(i opened the C404 and have the black plastic but how exactly do i mount the SSD into the plastic and how do i have to put the plastic+SSD into the C404?)

I would really appreciate any help!

EDIT: The most important thing is if i have to use the spacer of the SSD or if i shouldn't

I'm certain you have to use that black plastic along with 2 spare screws that should have been included in your box in a baggy if you opted out for a 2.5' drive.

This is how I did mine.

    1) Take the black plastic and bend the tabs, theres 4 tabs with different bend points on the longer side. I think I bent it down to the small or 2nd the smallest bend to fit my samsung 840 ssd.

    2) Secure as best you can the newly sized folds by screwing in the screws onto the sides of the ssd.

    3) After you have the side flaps secured go ahead and bend the outer ones with the black cushion flaps. These can only bend at one length so don't worry about trying to size it.

    4) The SSD can only go in one way so just slip it in and connect it. Make sure when you snug it in that the cushioned black tabs are bent at a full 90º angle as I believe these are used as standers to cushion and better secure the drive. It can be a little cumbersome to get all the cushioned tabs to stand and properly stay but once you have a good enough fit stay with it.

    5) Screw the panel back on and the fitment of the panel and the black cushion wrap should hold it in place. Mine doesn't slide at all and I walk around with all the time in my backpack.

I'm not 100% sure if this is how it's supposed to be done but it seems logical.
Because I also opted out for a 2.5 drive I didn't know how to properly install it, but I just copied the look of a HD model based off the videos of XOTIC PC & Sebi, and also going off of some pictures.

I've seen some open chassis where the white plug sits both on top and under the drive so I'm not sure exactly whats best. Because my drive isn't mechanical I choose to leave it underneath the drive. If it were mechanical I would probably have it resting above it.
Subject I'm referring to can be seen in the last picture.

    Hope this helped!

P.S. I noticed that some of the screws for the chassis have painted blue stripes while others are black. Does anyone know if there is a specific area the blue marked ones screw into or is it all just general?

    Hello guys

I have recently bought the schenker c404. I'm really happy about it but one thing keeps distracting me. The matte screen looks a bit grainy. My former notebook had a glossy screen so I think it's just the matte film on the screen. Can anyone please confirm that it's not a defect?

    Sorry for any English mistakes

How are you guys liking the C404? Mine is shipped, coming in a few days :) I am excited for it.

I also didn't buy a SSD/HDD but seperately bought a Samsung 840 Evo 256gb SSD and I am waiting to buy an HDD (Any recommendations? :))

Thank you everyone for all the help this thread is literally amazing for all the support

    @ Invention
The C404 is great! Not sure about the HDD, personnally I went for a MX100 SSD.

    @ Thomination
Yes, the screen is slightly grainy on mine too. Personnally I did not notice as I'm used to matte screen with that sort of finish. I'm sure in a little while you won't notice it as much.

Edit : I recall they had problem sourcing pannels for the C404, so they may have used different pannels ? Your best bet would be to contact schenker and ask.
