is there any way to disable the battery charging led when i turn off the laptop without removing the power cable? that led is always on and i don't need to permanently see it while the computer is turned off.
-
Mine is off when it is fully charged
-
I think the latest one should be 388.92, which had been released not quite long time ago
-
The one we're using is F4-2400C16S-16GRS

Multiple times a day I get the following error in Windows Event logs:
Windows Event
Source: ACPI
Event ID: 13
Level: Error
I got this since bios version FB05 and i'm now running F07 @ Aero 15X v8.
Why do I get this message? And does it have a impact of the stability and speed of my laptop? -
Those are from December/January, which is a bit old (from a graphics driver standpoint). So no word on when we're getting new drivers?
-
I own Gigabyte Aero 15 (2017) and I don't know how to flip the screen using only Ctrl+Alt+Up/Down/Left/Right hot keys on Windows 10. Is there a problem with one of the drivers, e.g. keyboard or a video card? I have all the latest official Gigabyte drivers installed, so I guess there is no issue on my side. How do you flip the screen using only hot keys?
-
usb type c has "killed" my aero 15's wifi it connects and disconnects 100 times a day its so annoying i dont even have my phone plugged into the think even reboots wont fix the issue.
-
I snagged a great deal on an open-box Aero 15X from Newegg (hopefully it works well, but we'll see). I was wondering if anyone had info on RAM that is confirmed to work? This thread is getting pretty long and I've seen lots of RAM mentioned, but never anything 100% (I'd obviously rather just add a single stick of 16GB instead of replacing both).
-
we're internally testing the 399.xx and will release it once it's ready
-
we have no problem of doing so in our internal test. could you try to perform it through external keyboard to see if it works?
-
go for our call center and they'd be glad to help you with it
-
maybe try to re-install the Thunderbolt driver to see if it works
-
hi everyone
After all new firmware and patches keyboard issues was fixed ? Do you know someone who recently buy this laptop and there is no keyboard issue in it ? ty -

New Smart Manager

Still v7.0.5 showing up in Smart Update for my Aero 15 v7.
Telling us which version for which model would be more helpful... -
New smart Manager for 15x 4k. Version starts with 20. or 21. It came yesterday evening in Switzerland. When I am back at home I will check the version number.
-
This is what arrived for me today (Aero 15X v8 4K)
Smart Manager update 7.4.3 -> 18.0.1.7.
-
Nope did not work at all, and now i cant view my phone in mass storage mode. This issue is crazy ive tried many fixes with no success. i dont want to re install windows as i work on this laptop and i cannot upload files if my wifi cuts out every 10 minutes and it shows i dont even have a wireless card for a bit then goes back to normal.
Any possible suggestions?
Thank you. -
That's a big ass version jump! Looks fancy.
-
What's happening here exactly? I think I saw a post here somewhere where somebody was having wifi issues and they had to open it up, and press on the wifi connectors. Maybe they weren't in 100% or firmly.

Here's something for those that may still have "unsupported" 2666 RAM sticks. I've posted before about having 2 sticks of Corsair DDR4-2666 which run well as Dual-Channel which are not on the supported list. When I first popped them in, they seemed to not have worked, but then they did. After I updated to F06, it seemed like the machine wouldn't boot up, but I managed to make it through. Just finished the update to F07, and got stuck again, but once again, managed to boot in successfully.
Here's what I did:
1) updated the BIOS, it shut itself off
2) let it rest 5 minutes and powered up
3) let it set 5 minutes with the screen off, but the WiFi and Power LED on, with nothing happening
4) started holding power til shut-off then it auto restarted, and pushing F2 in hopes of accessing the Bios
5) after doing this a few times, it starts rebooting itself with some screen flashes
6) somehow the GB logo shows up, and i enter the bios
7) I save changes (in case it changed something that helped), and finally rebooted and got in
Here's a video I started recording near the end of step 4, just before the auto-reboots start:
In case some people still have those sticks that didn't work, and want to test out, maybe this will help a bit. Note that the Corsair's are 2666 on Jedec, not XMP. -
Damn this looks so much better than what we have for the aero 15 v7. Hope they upgrade the smart manager for us too! Can you show us what the smart dashboard looks like? -
This is after i used the USC type c port the wifi is going out even more now its so frequent it disables the wifi connector and makes the screen change to pantone and back to normal then back to pantone calibration very quickly each time it disables it sometimes it wont even show in device manager. Its very annoying its already went out 2 times while i am writing this so im not sure if this will even post. I had this happen with an older alienware that had usb c it was horrible. i hope this issue can be fixed. ive tried a the steps with no results. i need to plug my phone in to transfer stuff. Got any other solution's? its never dropped wifi until the moment the thunderbolt was plugged in , ive had the laptop since sept. i tried to contact gigabyte with no message back its been days.
-
I also noticed you have to go to Apps to install the X-Rite Pantone Color Calibration ICC profile.
-
dashboard is the same, they haven't updated it
-
That's very odd. I've used the USBC port for 2 separate external SSDs and my OnePlus 5 and have had no issues.
And like I mentioned, have you tried opening it up in case the wifi card isn't somehow attached/connected properly? Maybe using the USBC somehow popped it out. -
i am on a business trip right now i dont have my screw driver set , i will be back the 26th and i shall report back.
-
Does this driver improve the touchpad, e.g. install a Precision Touchpad?
-
Just reporting this in for posterity and any GB people: I had two blue-screen events today that traced back to the nVidia kernel. I'm on WHQL 398.82 and was merely doing office work. It's possible that plugging in and unplugging an external monitor had something to do with it, but I was surprised at the sudden frequency. Don't know if it'll come back. Anyone getting similar crash events?
-
No, it's still the ELAN driver with the touchpad being recognized as a PS/2 mouse.
I don't know what changes compared to the previous version, I don't use the touchpad enough to feel an improvement. -
Yeah, myself and others also experience random BSODs for no reason. Most of mine have been when the machine is just sitting there idle (which is 90% of the time). I also always have an external connected via DP, in case that's a factor.
-
Note, from the last crash dump:
This indicates that the nVidia chip was called and didn't respond before timeout, so the system crashed. How do do this dumpcheck? Just BSOD again while I was AFK for no reason.
-
I installed the latest elan driver but I don't see any new features. I never had any problems with the touchpad or the elan drivers anyways so I don't know why people install the windows precision driver. The elan driver has nice multi finger options for navigation.
-
It seems a little bit complex and I suggest you heading to our call center for further check
-
I copied the last minidump file (dmp) from c:\windows\minidump\ and uploaded it (after first checking in Notepad++ for any personally identifying information) to http://www.osronline.com/page.cfm?name=Analyze
Certainly a lot more informative than Windows event viewer referencing the kernel screwing up (it's almost so redundant a thing to say it might as well have said "Windows crashed because Windows crashed"). -
Also, anyone who has any expertise on my particular crash results, let me know. I'd like to be assured that it's not a hardware problem and that the two crashes I had yesterday were transient or possibly due to the nVidia driver being stupid.
-
Didn't find a minidump, but managed to track down the full crashdump which was 1.5GB
. Tried to run WinDbg on it for a bit but from what I managed to read from the anaylsys, I think then cause was unknown. No reference to video or Nvidia stuff in the analysis.

FYI I reverted the nVidia driver to 398.36 to see if that helps stability. It's one of those maddeningly infrequent events that happens without the system being under a processing load (just light office work).
-
I hope Gigabyte make this available for Aero 15 v7, too, as it looks way better than my version:
Don't know why the GUI has Chinese characters... -
Gigabyte confirmed a BSOD in driver versions before 398.36.
However, I had no luck with 398.36 nor 398.82. Both do not support my external monitor reliably. Instead, the system gets wonky. See what happens when I switch to Task View!
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7jka9qnuf42m0pk/WindowsTaskView.mp4?dl=0
The external monitor turns black every time I open Task View.

hey guys , what you think about my idea, mb we can changing the speakers in laptop on the same others speakers , for example msi gs65 because it's look a like (form factor) and it have better sound or you think it's issue from a sound card ?
-
Sad news but looks like my Aero 15 (7700HQ) just died. Was working at the office and got a BSOD. Restarted and took about 15 minutes till it booted up again. Put it to sleep over night and now it doesn't even boot up. When I press the power button, the power and wifi led lights turn on and I can hear a fan, but the laptop does not boot to windows nor does it even boot to Bios. Screen is black and keyboard lights do not turn on either.
I tried all the regular solutions posted online including:
- holding down windows+b+power
- unplugging the battery, holding power for 15 seconds then plugging directly to power
- switch m2 slots
- switch ram slots
- disconnect cmos battery for 10 seconds then plug it back in
Nothing works. Going to call support on Monday. Does anyone have any other advice as to what I could do? My entire work life is on that laptop and hopefully all my data can be salvaged. -
Did you not have any backups of any kind of your data? If that's your lifes work, you should've backed that up...
And the HDD may be fine, just a dead machine. You can plug it into an enclosure, and if it's ok, pull the data. -
Will check with our RD team to see when could it be available on v7 modelfrostwarefx likes this.
-
I guess not cuz the speaker module in every laptop is highly customized for fitting in the chassy with limited space
-
It just happened or had you done something with your AERO 15?
-
I've been having a similar issue where the computer will be working fine, I restart it and then it goes to black screen, fans are working but it won't load bios, keyboard lights don't work, etc. Yesterday after it happened I swapped the location of the original ssd with a Samsung 960 pro and after that it booted up no problem, but then today it did it again and wouldn't boot anything at all after 20 minutes of restarting multiple times. All I did was remove the back panel, pushed the power button, and it booted fine.
I'm trying to figure out how removing the back panel would allow it to boot, I was originally thinking it was one of the SSD but now I think it might be a hardware issue like a loose connection or something.
Currently it is working fine, I'll update if it happens again and hopefully you can get yours working again Rohan
