That's... just not true, sorry. Memory controllers don't work that way any more and that was to do with FSB frequency.

    Meaker - James
    OK
I have picked for example Intel® Core™ i7-2600K Processor OK?
I have checked that CPU supports Memory Types : DDR3-1066/1333

For instance ; if desktop lover going to build Tower PC and with quite nice 2600K cpu and he will choose RAM which is ; I picked Quad channel and THOSE RAMS runs AT 2400MHz !!!
How you gonna explain that, to somebody that just not gonna work ???
Or it is going to work but not correctly ?

Mobile CPUs are running at lower voltages across the board, on a desktop to get the ram moving that fast you are going to run a higher IMC voltage.

Also the quad channel sets are for the X79 platform so that's only one bank per channel, it's harder to run fast memory at 2 banks per channel.

I am running kingston pnp 1866 along with 2820 over 4 months and I had no issues whatsoever games working well
I actually realised that you do not need strong GPU for games that is the gimmick too same as with big CPUs big RAMs or big GPUs
What I can say what revolution and big real step occurred in IT industry is SSD drives .. nothing else ..

    Yes true
I spoke to one member owning alienware and having same BIOS as I have so Insyde H2O and he said this BIOS is the same in all laptops
and it's up to laptop makers what they will set in BIOS
So he also said he is working on HIS OWN program to modify Insyde!
I have contacted him few weeks ago but with no replly ..

I just heard it. I wrote this but it was a typo in word heard. As I understood someone who wrote it meant that it will work on higher bandwidth but won't get all advantages working at full.

    Jeee, really PokeLOL??
    AND DO YOU SEE THIS:
    THIS
    THIS
    AND THIS??????

And you did not give an answer me in that thread as like guy whose post you linked. And now you ask us in thread created by me why don't we go to that thread again??? Where is logic???

Thanks for the links James D. With those timings Corsairs DDR3-1866 looks very good, I might think of spending that extra $50 over DDR3-1600.

The timings are spot on 10-10-10-27 and the command rate is 1T for 8GB kit that's ridiculous.

That's like saying the ram is 9-10-9-27-2T @ DDR3-1886, Corsair did a great job on this memory!

    Sorry, my bad.

I think the reason why they are no SPD screens is because I can't see anything at all on that tab. Everything is just blank... I'm probably not the only one to see nothing here.

Timings can be changed in the unlocked bios, however the blue hyperx will resort to only 1333 at custom timings whereas the plug and play versions (grey) will automatically run at 1600 with custom timings. PnP versions are thus superior.

Yah, Corsair have better timings than HyperX at default. And they overclock automatically as well (Pnp), so defo go for them. Not sure how they would fair with custom timings though, wish I could try ;o

Maybe I will, but 1866 is pricey in the UK. Anyone got any good UK sites selling them?

At the end of the day, the speed gain is stupidly minimal from stock 1333 RAM, lol.

JEDEC number 2 and 3 look rather interesting, congrats on getting all the ram working.

Does he memory tab of CPU-Z show your command rate as AIDA seems to suggest you are at CR2.

The more slots you use the harder it is to run 1T. 2T is more stable, 1T is slightly faster (2-3%).

    AIDA64, CPU-Z,SISOFT SANDRA...only Thaiphoon Burner got them right. ;-)

at least now we know why it didn^t work. The basic version requires Test Signing Mode and UAC to be disabled and needs administrative rights to install Thaiphoon Burner's kernel-mode driver.

u should say straight : restart win 7 and keep hittin F8 and select Disable Driver signature for one session.

Yeah I ran security policy in first place and in local policies and security options I have enabled admin account staus but didn't help .. so I read last part of that message and prema was talking about F8 and I was hitting F8 while was running that his soft then I realised that restart windows and boot win 7 via F8

    Here it is:

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

This is on a Y570 with HM65 chipset and i5-2520M CPU, I haven't yet ran Memtest86+ so consider yourselves very special.

For anyone getting the ram: Corsair's packaging is horrible, make sure you open the bottom first (no need to open the top) in order to get the ram out; opening the top of the package does nothing.

Another note is the ram has no heat-spreaders but I'm suspect that Corsair uses 30nm chips on the Vengeance in order to keep production cost low and run the memory at lower timings without the need for heat-spreaders.

All in all, money well spent and the memory works as advertised.

If this is what decreased price of it comparing with HyperX then fine... I think.

@Geo. Looks like 1866 and 1600 have a difference in heatspreaders....
