AMD Codename Decoder – November 9, 2010
Some codenames for the next gen 2012 APU parts are listed:

I hate AMD being so far behind Intel because that means Intel can just trickle the new technologies it (already) has to us.

What?! Bulldozer finally for notebooks! Hot.

lol... -
I can't wait until AMD names a new processor "Vishnu". With a name like that it must be the destroyer of worlds... (Intel and Nvidia). Not much longer now, I hope. At any rate I'll be looking forward to Bulldozer in 2H 2011, and Bobcat soon!

p26: Trinity is 2-4 Core 32nm Bulldozer APU. Krishna & Wichita are 1-4 "enhanced" Bobcat cores on 28nm.
EDIT: Llano back on track?

Acer Aspire One 522 with AMD Fusion
- 1GHz Dual Core AMD C-50 APU
- AMD Radeon 6250
- 10.1 1280x720 screen
- 6 hour battery life
-
If it gets a realistic 6 hours that will be impressive, but if it only gets like 4, I am quite unimpressed... What do you guys think?
-
Only 6 hours? That's pretty disappointing considering that this is Ontario and not Zacate (i.e. the CPU performance will be much closer to Atom).
-
I agree. I was expecting more. They still have an uphill battle against the Atom if it can't get any better than this. At least the screen isn't 1024x600.
-
Puke green. Yuck. They really should have picked a better color IMHO.
-
-
Is AMD Fusion going to be available right after CES?
-
-
U270 will have an option for a 6-cell like the U250 and should also be compatible with a 9-cell you can get aftermarket.
-
That said, I'm sure not every manufacturer will do that. We'll see some decent Fusion machines yet. -
I understand that they have to be cheap since they're competing against Atom netbooks, but is a 6-cell battery with a decent capacity too much to ask?
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
And people wonder why machines are going to 16:9 screens and why various cheap computers components fail.. -
Let's wait for reviews.

Ugh, I wish AMD would do something about OEMs sticking their chips in ugly designs. I hope HP and Lenovo's offerings are better...

kinda scary when the pre-release rumor mill is only making as audacious of claims as "will be on par with current 45nm intel processes" and is using marketing images from the mid 80s -

Asus prepares 12-inch slate for CES 2011
This makes me really excited about a Fusion (bobcat?) based one.
I will happily give them my money, if it is bobcat based, we will have more battery life, good performance, and an Ipad like toy that will happily run win 7 and it's apps. Just wow -
I think they are trying to say that Bulldozer will compete with what intel is now replacing with 32nm gulftown -- which are the older 45nm xeon chips.
-
-
The reason why the return of the FX label has some excited is because it was AMD's "Extreme Edition" brand back when AMD was able to compete with more than just lower prices.
The belief is, if AMD is going to try and sell an expensive chip, it's going to have to be a fast chip. -
And, finally, I present a Fusion notebook which doesn't look like a total piece of crap.
HP shows its Pavilion dm1 notebook -

Okay, so now we have three. Yay!
