Do any of you have 1GB and Vista, and if so, how does your lappy run with that?

    Voted 2gb

I have 1gb right now, but it will be 2bg in two days when UPS graces my door.

Right now, on 1gig, I get some swapping. Dell XPS 1210, so the 7400go like to steal ram often.

Run iTunes, Firefox, Photoshop, most MSOffice programs, CS:S, WoW, DVD's.

I am usually at 800megs commited, and it often goes over. I hope this will make it a bit snappier.

Mine runs ok, not as quick as I would like; but what ever is? Moving to 2 gig's this week. Later I think I'll move to a 7200rpm HD too. But I love the 5400 not being loud at all.

I'm running Vista premium on 1.5GB of RAM at the moment and my IGP is the Intel GMA 950. My laptop originally came configured with 1024MB of RAM and Vista ran absolutley fine.

4GB. Staying with winXP. Not using a pagefile and all daily applications (IE, Office, Mediaplayer, DTP, Statistics) constanlty on the background.

Running Vista Home Premium and XP on a Dell Inspiron 9100 with 512mb ram. Use 0ffice 03 (soon 07), Paint Shop Pro XI, Firefox/ IE7, Google Earth/Sketchup.

Usually 1-4 applications at a time.

2g. Was thinking of upgrading to 4g but the price isn't worth it. The lowest price I could find was $507.00 for two 2G sticks. I'll stick with 2g for now until the price comes down.

    Just an update from earlier:

I did my 1GB to 2GB update in my XPS M1210 with Vista Business and am never looking back. Programs are much snappier to load now and I get a lot less HD activity after the initial bootup (and after SuperFetch is done loading everything to RAM).

    Much more enjoyable now!

I am getting ready to take out my 2 512 mb rams from my hp dv 6000t and replace them with 2 1gb rams. If the fsb is 667 mhz ddr2, does that mean that I have to get the 1 gb rams the same number?
    thanks

1024MB. Usually, I use 700+MB, I peak at just under 1kMB. The 512 on my iMac is not close to enough for me; I need like 1.25 or 1.5gigs.

hmm, i've upgraded mine to 2gb, maxed it out since i use photoshop etc. i kinda regret getting it earlier coz the new ddr2 is selling for real cheap even from the guys i originally got it from ( www.computerlaptopmemory.com )

but for most people 1gb is good enough i guess.
