Back in 2009 I got a GTX 280M which was top of the line back then, with $550 . These prices are ridiculous.

One thing you'll quickly learn is that the price never goes down but the performance hopefully goes up... ;)

btw, I think it's safe to assume that these latest 6GB and 8GB cards are worth their $$$'s to the right buyer - even with degraded 2017 $$'s and an absolute lower price than the lowly (today) GTX 280M with tech inside from a decade or more ago...

Can't really see what you're complaining about here...

I'm looking for a cad certified gpu with the 2200 being the best option plus i don't think the 8560w supports Pascal cards due the new connectors. Correct me if I'm wrong

    Do Eurocom offer upgrade services?
I'm not experienced with computer hardware would rather have someone crack open my system and do the upgrade for me. I also have zero experience flashing a modded bios.
Besides the gpu upgrade, I need new thermopaste applied since cpu temperature average around 80-90 degrees on idle.

    This sounds nice.
    But I have a couple of ..ahem.....questions.

    1) Will a MSI 1070 (MXM 3.0; GT73VR format, not 16L13 format) work in this thing? Could throw my laptop card in my dektop since miners ruined the supply and I'm sick of the 290X already.
    2) How in the hell would I cool this thing if #1 worked? What sort of heatsink is supposed to fit on such a thing? And that INCLUDES VRM's too.....

I think this could be useful if you needed to test the MXM board and/or reprogram the vBIOS.

Those look nice but exposed VRM's is playing with fire.
One mistake and that card goes boom.
    If the fan stops: boom.
On a desktop card, if the fan stops, the VRM's will heat up slowly rather than quickly because of the large heat shroud. The GPU will crash first.
    .
Even more if its TDP modded to desktop range (150W), which are actually beyond spec for the MSI cards (see Coolane's post and some Russian guy (?) who said the VRM's are capable of 250W, it's somwhere in the pascal editor thread. Khenglish said the card can handle over 200W; ;the limitation is on the mainboard's power delivery system)

    Adding one weird card:

    GTX 1080, unknown manufacture
    s-l1600.jpg

I have no idea why I acquired it, or where the source is from (seller has 0 feedbacks on feebay and he doesn't seem to understand a lot about mxm cards).
But my instinct tells me that it might be useful, since the vast majority of new cards are in more irregular shapes than this one.
I got it for $500 but still haven't tested it. And also not sure which laptop it might fit.

BTW, the GTX 1060/1070/1080 on AsRock Deskmini are all from aetina. But Asrock is probably the only source. Sent emails to Aetina about purchasing 10 1080, 10 1060 and 10 Quadro P5000m and never had a reply from them. Guess even 30 mxms totalling more than $20000 are too small for them to respond.

Here's a comparison of the three: I have not seen the Asrock RX580/RX570 anywhere
    ASRock-DeskMini-GTX-33.jpg

P.S. some update on my M6700 P5000m upgrade, a vBIOS flash is required. the EEPROM chip of pascal requires 1.8V instead of 3.2V, be careful

    Also something about Gecube cards.
A lot of their cards are made for embedded solutions or miners... which have a lower requirement than laptop as they do not require display output.... I asked them persoanlly on taobao.

    Wow test that thing!!

That looks like a 150W GTX 1080. Standard MXM 3 format?
Looks like it has the same VRM capability as the MSI 1070.....

Looks like plus size Zotac 1070 to me. Of course the VRM layout is different, but from the RAM row downward they are 1:1 front and back. Anyway, great find. Waiting for some tests :)

So is the P5000 fully working in the M6700?
