Hall of fame updated... again. -
47.046 (32M) and 1493.843 (1024M) on my iMac (T2400, XP Pro SP2), which gets a Great rating compared to other T2400s.
94.922 (32M) and 3026.937 (1024M) on my Sony VAIO FJ270 (PenM 750, XP Home SP2), which is also gets a Great rating compared to other PenM 750s.
Originally, I had Normal for the iMac and Very Poor for the FJ, so the tweaking netted some pretty good improvement.
We should make an NBR team for HWbot for this...Anyone else agree? -

Alright, ran it on my Sager.

Well, I'm on the road and I don't have my D620 with me, but I did run it on my ultraportable, here's the results:
Latitude D400, Intel Pentium M @1700MHz, speed: 1694MHz, L2 cache: 1024KB.
32M: 107.453secs.
I haven't run the stress test yet, I'll do it tonight as I anticipate it taking several hours at least -
I only ran the 32M because I'm pressed for time right now. I'll run the other test later.
Proc: T7200
Time: 43.259 sec
OS: Vista Home Premium 32bit
Full laptop specs in sig. For some reason the first core was always a little bit faster than the second. -
-
I ran the first bench again with the updated version of the program and the second bench too.
@ Vivek: Yea, it was more noticable when I ran the longer benchmark. In mine the first core was 1% ahead of the second. -
Thanks for the posts guys.
Hall of fame is updated and new revision. (for notebooks and desktop scores) -
32m: 52.969

Thanks for posting john.

Very nice thread.
32M: 43.828 sec
1024M: 1384.375 sec
OS: XP SP2
Apps open include FF, Windows Explorer, RMClock -
Retested the VAIO after some optimization.
32M: 92.4968
1024M: 2975.469
So some nice improvements there. Getting closer to Chazman's score! -
Whooo, my T5500 is bringing up the rear there! I wonder why it's so slow compared to the other T5500 laptops. I'm going to try and tinker with some settings and close some programs/processes to see if I can squeeze alittle more out of it.
-
Yes, I found that closing all programs and processes that weren't absolutely necessary to keeping the system running helps decrease times by a lot. On my laptop, I started at 3145s, and have now gone down to 2977s (1024M). Its less pronounced on the 32M benchmark though, only a few seconds (96 to 93). These tweaks might work better for dual cores though, I haven't tested them on my iMac yet.

32m: 38 seconds 720 milliseconds
1024m: 20 minutes 33 seconds 630 milliseconds

WOW. Thats is definitely an amazing score for a AMD Turion X2.
You must have totally optimized your system to crank out such a score... or Vista might have helped out with that. -
-
I am still amazed by the huge score gap between your TL-60 and next notebook with TL-60.
I guess turning everything to Basic and losing the widgets/sidebars would give a gain in performance... but WOW. -

To update my score, my processor is a T7400, not T2600. I just got a score of 41.906 sec for the 32M, I'll run the Stress Test next.
-
metalfandragula Notebook Enthusiast
Did the stress test and got a score of 1331.437 seconds or about 22 minutes 11.437 seconds.
-
Reran the 32m after turning off nhc, antivir, sidebar, and changing theme to clasic. My score went down to 42.386 Sec.

thanks for the updates, metalfandragula

Ok folks, I had to add another table, for the Quad Cores.
I was thinking about putting it with the dual core table, but its just too overkill. -
*Looks at own results. Looks at league table*
Diddums!
CD 1.66ghz, XP Home. BTW, I ran the test whilst listening to radio 1 online and browsing NBR. Do I need to repeat the test?
Edit: AVG Pro and yahoo widget engine also runningAttached Files:

You can run it again to get a better score.
Try turning off (just for the test):
- System Restore
- Anti Virus
- switch to Classic Mode -
Come on! You know how long the stress test takes? Can't be away from NBR that long!
rotfl
What do you mean "read"? BTW, mine is core duo, not C2D
Edit: actually my 32M score beats some of the lesser lights from the bottom! I want recognition! rotfl -
i meant "at the rear" (UPDATED) lol.
just do the 32M test. -
Closed firefox, closed yahoo widget engine, left AVG Pro running and got...

awesome thanks, thats a much better and above average score.
UPDATE: hall of famed updated for today -
Hmm, I need to retest my iMac for nicer scores. 21st place does not suit me well at all...
-
Here's another result. HP Pavilion 764n Single Core Desktop running a Pentium 4 2.66 GHz processor and XP Home. 119.812 seconds for 32M test, 3854.39 seconds for 1024M test.

Vista is mainly bogging down RAM, and if you have a single core, then you would notice the CPU performance difference from XP.
-
Running on a Lenovo N200 (T7300 @ 2.0Ghz with 2x1GB RAM)
I got 44.171 seconds on the 32M test -
32m--57.92 1024m..1851.98...
acer aspire 5052...amd turion dual..1.6 ghz..2gb ram.
how is it? -
just installed vista business... can't seem to get the program to work. "unexpected error". i wanted to see how the timing was versus xp.
-
Nice.
To optimize your score:
- disable resource hogs (System Restore, Antivirus, etc..)
- switch Theme to Classic

seems ok tho wouldnt mind seeing how much faster a tl60 would be -
Hi, I have a Sony Vaio FE28GP (Intel Core Duo CPU T2500 @ 2.00GHz with 2x1GB ram) running XP Pro SP2 and my scores were:
45.782s @ 32mb
1399.656 @ 1024mb
-
Ok thanks for posting rhino and heero.
Heero, I think you can get a better score, since I am comparing your score with other scores with the same CPU.
To optimize your score:
- disable resource hogs (System Restore, Antivirus, etc..)
- switch Theme to Classic
In any case, nice scores. -
Oh, so we can add desktops now... hehehe....
Here's a run on my Dual 5120's @ 2800mhz (4 cores total) with 2-year old install of WinXP-32.
XP-64 is about the same.Attached Files:
