Umm... I think I'm confused as to what my system's doing since it does this faster after doing a bunch of stuff vs a fresh boot?

    Toshiba Satellite 3000
    Mobile Pentium-3 1 GHz
    640 MB ram
    20 GB HDD

    4:48 on AC (fastest time)

    Normally it's a little over 5 mins.

    32M:
1:57:03 while doing a major DL and with the screensaver running etc., etc. (I had 17 hours to kill...) :p

    My "tuned" IBM T42:
    1.7GHz Dothan
    1GB RAM
    14" XGA Screen
    32MB ATI Radeon 7500
    40GB 5400RPM HD
    Intel PRO/2100B

    Plugged in = unplugged = 1:56

When it came right out of box:
    Plugged in = 2:02
Unplugged = 3:00 (throttled down CPU due to power management)

    zv5000z 3700+ 256MB PC2700 40GB 4200rpm right out of the box:

    AC 1:34
    Battery 1:48

    Fujitsu Lifebook P Crusoe 800MHz 256MB 4200rpm
    AC 11:20
    Battery Not enough patience

Looking forward to trying with 1GB mem and 7200rpm drive when they arrive.

I didn't see any P4 3.2/3.4GHz EE numbers here - anyone try with those?

1024 mb xms corsair ram DDR400
    60G 7200 rpm HD

    First try ------> AC: 2m = 1:34 min[8D]

Second try (while browsing the net and avg virus plus some other things on) -----> AC: 2m = 1:33 min[ :D]

Dunno why this is faster than the 3.4EE XPS?!?!?! It¨s also around 10 secs faster than similar cpu's - can't figure out why this is, but it makes me happy[ :p]

    Hi haszek,
There is no need to post results for larger for longer time periods I've tried it and it is the same as just multiplying the 2M result by whatever number you want, in your case just multiply by 8.

    Heya all,

Now that my replacement has fianlly arrived (and bumped up from the Athlon 64 3200+ to the 3400+), I've been dying to test out Super PI on it. I just got done, here it is (for the lappy specs in my signature):

    1:42 @ 2.199-GHz (plugged in);

    1:57 @ 1.784-GHz (on battery).

    Cheers,

    Stevo

    Hi mindgam3,
I've got 1/2 of this data in an excel spreadsheet right now and it has been awhile since I've added any, however I'll make a point of getting this all caught up after the Thanksgiving holiday. Then I'll see if we can put the sheet online here with maybe a short report and or graphs.

J-PaC, don't forget that the 64-bit is running 32-bit software so it's only performing at half of it's true functionality. The time isn't great though but I was running things like Norton 2k4, steam, and other stuff in the system tray. I'll try to run it soon on a clean boot and see if the score improves.

    Here are my results:

    Plugged: 4:09
    Unplugged: 4:09

As you can see no difference because my cpu works at the same speed with the fan off, whether it is plugged or not. The cpu only starts to work harder when need, e.g when playing games. Bellow is the result when the cpu is working harder and the fan is on:

    2:14

    Mine is Toshiba M35x-s109 Celeron M 1.4G 256MB ram, 40GB 4200rpm

2:40 min for 2M digits with ac power

I'm kind of surprised, were expecting it to be much long with such lower end cpu+ram. I did clean up about half of processes preinstalled, that might help.

Dell Dimension 8250 (2+ years old) 2.4GHz 512MB RAM, 60GB (not sure of speed, doubt it's too high)

    2:05

Why is this so fast? I'm looking at other times for computers that seem much better and newer than mine, yet I pulled off impressive times??

Dell Inspiron I8100 Pentium III Mobile 1.13 GHz, 512 MB Ram, 48 GB 5400 rpm drive (system was bought in 2001)

    AC: 4:29
    battery: 4:31

unplugging reduced CPU speed to 733 MHz, but increased immediately to 1133 MHz on start of super_pi. My machine acts as a j2ee and sql database server (for development), and only half of the ram (~240MB) was available to calulate pi

in the market for a new dothan based 17" screen system :)
