don't believe what they say. It is like saying you should not use your car so your can keep your mileage low when you sell it in 10 years.

You don't need to it once a week but do it when you think is necessary. Though in most case, you don't need any benchmark. your drive is fine, it is a psychological thing(being cheated). I would either return it(not RMA) or just keep it but not buying any OCZ in the future.

Hello guys. I just run the OCZ toolbox, and I see that the firmware is 1.25

I have 240G version. Where can I see if it is 25nm or 34nm?

    Thank you

OneCool, it looks like you may have triggered LTWT (LifeTime Write Throttling), which is why your write scores are so low. Supposedly this can recover over time, if you leave your notebook on but logged off (so Sandforce GC can get to work), but for most of the other people that have hit this, it doesn't seem to work reliably. The easiest way to "fix" this is to secure erase, and then reimage.

Kyoka_Suigetsu, I believe all, or almost all drives that came with 1.25 firmware are 34 nm drives. According to kunekaden's post here (which links to the OCZ forums), 1.25 should be 34 nm.

How would one go about activating LTWT?

All I did was install Windows 7 and updates, drivers and such.

All I have done with it since the install was use the internet and listen to music.

    That was 2 weeks ago?

After reading some of the OCZ forums its the drive thats doing it.

It seems everyone with these 25nm xxbit NAND chips are getting terrible write scores

So I filled out the RMA.... this is so f'ing stupid

All the time I spent researching ssds and I still get screwed... frustrating to say the least

Thanks for the help here guys :)

Kinda wish I would have gotten the G.Skill now

I don't think it is the DuraWrite in action. It should not affect read speed. Your lower than average read speed may be related to the chipset.

There's an easy way to tell - does your drive's total capacity in Windows say 51GB or 55GB?

If it says 51GB, then it's RMA time.

    Yes its 51.

    51.2 to be exact

How they would do such a thing and think it wouldnt come back on them is beyond me.

OCZ = All of our customers are stupid

they are trying their luck and may be able to get away for some of those sold units. For me, just return it and get another brand. The best way to panish them.

I love how their hiding it on their forum too.Everything I said that was even slightly negative towards OCZ they delete and/or edit.

Newegg is still advertising this drive as "Voted "Best of the Best" by Maximum PC magazine"
    Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Hard Drives,SSD,$100 - $200

That is NOT the drive that Max PC used in their test.

I pointed all that out and wrote that it was false advertisement. They just deleted my post

In that case, then no, it probably isn't LTWT. And yes, it seems you have a 25 nm drive. If you don' t mind, 5maybe try a 0-fill CDM or 1 fill CDM (make it a small one, like 3 runs of 50 MB) and see if you can get numbers higher than 30 MB/s. If you can, then it's obviously not LTWT. I admit I'm not as familiar with the performance of small drives like yours... I always found them too constricting. >.>

The writes Are so slow because they used 64 Gbit chips so they used only half channels available  i will not take a vertex2 even if they sell it 1 eurocent, i swear it. The 25 nm scaling not announced is only the minor problem in this case, it's like a jeep with only 2 weels drive and 15 inch size instead of 17
