    Thanks a lot guys.
I think I am gonna stick with the 3gb.
I couldn't find the settings you mentioned nando4.
Anyway thanks a lot. I'll see what i am gonna do.

What is the maximum accepted temp for my t8100?
    I hadn't tested it yet

Run c:\windows\system32\igfxcfg -> Display Settings -> Power Settings -> Modify Settings.

Check "Intel Rapid Memory Power Management"
Check "Check "Intel Display Power Saving Technology" -> Maximum Battery

"Intel Rapid Memory Power Management" was already ticked and "Intel Display Power Saving Technology" is disabled.
    Still no difference...
    Thanks anyway.

I also made a test for my temps.
    I had purchased a Shin-Etsu X23-7783D.
    Great results!!!
from 72 C I had with a normal paste, I gor60 C after running ORTHOS for 5 min with no problem.

Hello guys, i searched a lot over the internet for a way to mod the CY28547LFXC clock generator. I know that setfsb does not support this particular chip nor it can be tweaked via software. I also tried to be of help by looking for its datasheet but all i could find were chinese and japanese pages which i could not understand.
So, is here any of you who knows how to squeeze a bunch of Mhz from this configuration.
I got a Dell Vostro with a T7250 on it.
    Thanks.
    ;)

Would be good if you could open setfsb, click on diagnosis, select "pll diagnosis" as the clock generator, click getfsb then upload a screenshot of that here.

Done, what do you think about it?
Looks like it isn't of any help, right?
According to what i read this clock generator needs some hardware mod before it can be tweaked via software.

Read the last part of this:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/495203-how-oc-m17x-r2s-920xm-940xm-using-setfsb.html

You need to do that to see your registers.

Please do it then upload another screenshot.

I can't seem to find where is the option to change the font size.
I am in the control panel and cant find anything.

Do i have to use dpi's?
Looks like i can't go under 96 DPI on Vista 64.

I have no idea about font size in windows, but in setfsb there is a customize option which might help.

I'm trying to set the "Text" option to 0 but it looks like has just effect on the color of the fonts.
    The rest doesn't do anything
Would you please be more specific? I am feeling kinda noobish right now.

That SHOULD be so easy and yet i can't manage to get it going.

You should be able to see them.

If you can't get setfsb to work, try clockgen or try using linux.

    I think it's time to summon nando4.
I'm moving to Ubuntu now, i'll let you know if i succeded.
Edit: still trying to get into ubuntu because my usb stick doesn't want to boot for some reason.
While i am here is there a simple way to get my RAM to hit 400 mhz with 6-6-6-18 timings?

I am looking at it but i am a complete on linux.
God, i'm really looking stupid right now.
Where should i put those "code" parts?
    I installed lmsensors, that's a start.
    LOL
I really need a hand from you guys since i am dealing with a CY28547 PLL on a T7250.
Can anybody be a bit more precise about this post?
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...clocking-methods-examples-38.html#post5879433
Since i really prefer to go for hardware mod rather than trying several times via software (looks like i can't even check my clockgen is in TME mode) .
I'd really like to go straight to the point since it looks like i am a bit confused about all this stuff (i already OC'ed my 8600M GT but this is way harder) .
    Thanks and sorry for bothering.
I don't know if a new thread would make things a bit easier since it could bring someone else to the discussion.

Well, I would try the TME mod first. But to do that you would need setfsb or something similar working.

The other mod (going straight from 200mhz to 266mhz) might not work, because the datasheet doesn't mention 266mhz.
I think for that you would need to connect pin 45 to GND.

The fact is i still can't get setfsb to give me those registers.
Having them shown would be a nice starting point but i don't know why i can't.
Any windows user that has had this problem before and resolved?
I sent a pm to hikkoo (who OC'ed a XPS 1730 with my very same clockgen) and i am looking forward for his answer.
I am kinda noob on linux in general, i am pretty much stuck right now.

hikkoo did not overclock anything with the clockgen by which you mean PLL registers. No one has ever overclocked using those methods with the specific notebook with that PLL, and its definitely not possible.

Hikkoo has a x9000 CPU with unlocked multipliers that can be overclocked on any notebook.

The hardware method you linked in a post before ALSO has never, ever, been done. It MAY be possible but it is a THEORY.

The whole RAM flashing thing is pretty easy relative to the tiny soldering you would have to do while making sure it will actually boot.

Try connecting pin 45 to GND, see if you can get it to work at 266mhz.

Nice update on the first post. There's some crazy fast overclocks listed from which I can see:

    - Calpella platform can be PLL overclocked 133->166Mhz
    - Montevina platform can be PLL overclocked 266->333Mhz
    - Santa Rosa platform can be PLL overclocked 200->266Mhz

I got Kingston Ram, not sure if they're 667 or 800 Mhz compatible.

I suggest changing the ram frequency to 533mhz and keep the 667mhz timings or even use 800mhz timings (6-6-6-18).

Flash only 1 stick (the other stick should be underclocked to match automatically).

    Are you using 64bit win7?

I don't think thaiphoon burner works well with that.

Really I only had luck with winxp 32bit.

You could try using SPDtool, but be careful with that one.

Its definitely not helping me overclock to 1333mhz FSB. Not sure what the best timings are at all...

ilguercio sorry bit misunderstanding havnt tried theory yet, im considering to buy another mobo for xps to test.

before solder anything , maybe good idea Test if PLL will allow PM965 to operate @ higher Bus speed by trying BSEL wire pinmod ...Nando gives good advice on first page also some info on Naton Thread ...
need to be careful that cpu mates back flushly to chipset...because wire will interfere in getting cpu back into original level postion...so need somthing sharp to be able to carve a very small notch out chipset just enough for wire to be flush with chipset surface

if test works ....then need to remove wire mod before try solder PLL pin correctly which require skill an so helpful have microscope about 40x or more > e.g check no bridging to adjacent PLL pins

Just letting you know that the Acer Aspire 5720 is also moddable. Isolate resistor R104 from +3.3V, and connect it to ground with a wire (I connected it to the ground pin of a USB port). This will disable TME.

Also note that while all schematics and service manuals for this machine state the PLL as an ICS9LPRS365AGLFT, my board actually had a Silogo SLG8SP510T (essentially an SLG8SP513V in a different package). This PLL is nowhere near as capable as the ICS9LPRS365 (can only be set in discrete steps of 100, 133, 166, 200, 266, 333 and 400MHz, with no fine tuning), but I guess that it should not be hard to replace the chip with an ICS9LPRS365, given that the rest of the circuitry matches the schematic. (I haven't tested the chip replacement, as I have no ICS9LPRS365 to test with.)

Setfsb is probably changing the source for the sata clock.

Try changing bit 1 of byte 0, if that causes the lockup, then you found the problem.

You can try using ICS9LPR501SGLF, I think it has the same registers as your PLL, but setfsb doesn't change the sata source with that PLL.
