I'm trying all the closest PLL number, but so far no go. -
i cant find this ppl in my setfsb, what is the version that i must to have to have this ones
-
and i found one but it doens change nothing there, what is the problem, is block????

Looks like TME is enabled.
You need a pin mod to disable TME or you can try an FSlX pinmod.
There are examples in the table on the first page.
If you don't want to do a pinmod, you can try Dual IDA:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...c-acceleration-ida-both-cores-core-2-duo.html -
dual ida doesnt work with this cpu. pin mod or a fxsi pinmod is to risk or iam wrong, because i dont know how to do it so i think i can make a big sh***.
so after this is not possible yes. i have already a mod bios in my acer, in all the options that i have there you dont thik that can have a option to disable this? -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
What kind of bios does your acer have?
Is it AMI by any chance? -
I finally managed to overclock it despite difficulty but by not much, so I need your help. I compared to similar netbook (1000HE) that uses similar PLL chip to mine.
The left is the 1000HE and mine is on the right, after changing my byte 01 to F1 from E0 I'm able to overclock but by not much, it locks up when slides more than 166/760 slides. Maybe related to PCI clock?
Binary for E0 is 11100000 and F1 is 11110001.
Help me moral hazard, you are my only hope
EDIT: Byte 05 is changeable, so I changed it to 00 matching the 1001HE, also byte 00 is set to 01. I get slightly higher clock, downclock work like a charm too. Doing some test nowAttached Files:

It's really hard to troubleshoot without the datasheet (or a datasheet for a similar PLL).
I recommend reading the info in the following link, it's what setfsb does for most PLLs, should help:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...generator-ics9lprs387bklf-12.html#post6188065
The registers for your PLL wont be the same as what you see in the link, that's why you need the datasheet. -
OK I try to dig out the datasheet first. I can't find anything on the web but I have contacted the manufacturer for the datasheet.
-
Looks like its public holiday, there is no one on IDT department. Nevermind....
I found the ICS9PLPR427CGLF PLL files from shareware version, the older shareware allows to import it to files so I could transfer it to freeware version. But weirdly, although it shows no error and reads correctly in the shareware version, I get "PLL ID error" when I import it to freeware version, any thought? -

Request - registered setfsb owner to ask for for save/load option
For my 2510P I need to downclock before a reboot else the wifi disappears. This is done with a batch file but we see it takes 10.4 seconds to downclock from 173Mhz FSB to 133Mhz FSB!!
Code:D:\faster\setfsb>..\chkcpu32 /s Intel Core 2 Duo M 1554MHz D:\faster\setfsb>echo y | time The current time is: 9:01:47.57 Enter the new time: y The system cannot accept the time entered. Enter the new time: D:\faster\setfsb>setfsb -w0 -u1 -q -s133 -cg[ICS9LPRS355BGLF] D:\faster\setfsb>echo y | time The current time is: 9:01:58.03 Enter the new time: y The system cannot accept the time entered. Enter the new time: D:\faster\setfsb>..\chkcpu32 /s Intel Core 2 Duo M 1195MHz
While the 10.4 second delay is annoying more annoying is the activation key for setfsb since the freeware version works perfectly well with the 2510P apart from the delay.
So if anyone else is interested in a save/load PLL state feature or any other solution Abo has for speeding up setfsb then consider registering and asking Abo for a fix. -

I would like that also, if that option is added I hope it will function without having to activate setfsb with a key. -

Now with your DIY ViDock it is possible to get some more performance. Your SM 3.0 result is 4.8k, which is lower than the 5k I achieved on a HD5750 I tested on a T6600 running a x1E link. Based on the U9200 lspci output it looks like the expresscard is port2 and mPCIe is port3. In which case if you wanted the extra 15-30% performance the x1E tweak provides, and it certainly is noticable, consider obtaining a PM3N and apply the x1E tweak. That would then be a not-as-convenient mPCIe based DIY ViDock. -
I do have 2 internal mini pci-e ports (3,4) for my wifi and 3g and I dont have the extra cash to get 2 PM3N and PEH4 to get an x2 mode.
Thanks for the interest though.
I also get very low vantage gpu scores why?
from 6068 (p5858) with T8100 I only get 3677 (p4147) with my t9300.
I also did the tests (all of the recent) with 2GB of 800MHz (@887MHz) on w7 starter 32bit. -
Hi. I just wanted to share some interesting information on the Intel GL40 Chipset (Express Series 4). It seems that when I use SetFSB to set the FSB to certain speeds, such as 116.6 mhz and 133.3 mhz, on a reboot the PCI frequency stays at 33.3 mhz. However if it is not at one of these "steps" the PCI frequency goes up it seems on a percentage basis. Can anyone shed light on this?

Finally an IDT representative helped me pinpoint which pin to overclock, and its been fruitful. I get to 2.25GHz but the memory limits its overclockability, it seems it can't go beyond 600MHz or it will get BSOD. Thaiphoon Burner don't work with 64-bit Windows unfortunately unless if I pay for hefty sum of money to them.
But Starcraft 2 performance increase dramatically, I could play most setting at high at 1366x768 resolution. GTA IV get paltry 2fps increase but that to be expected
EDIT: Got Thaiphoon working perfectly, set the timing higher and the result? 2.5GHz! -
hiya i have an acer 6920g and wondering if there is anything eles i can do to it to make it that little bit faster.
i have the T9300 CPU @ Clock speed of 2501 and 6MB L2
also nvidia 9500gs m 512mb (ime wanting to upgrade this)
and 4gb ram (not sure on specs of ram, or even if it matters)
so can you advise me if there is anything worth doing?
thanks -

You will find a pinout here:

Some people have been able to get a datasheet from IDT just by sending an email. -
Hi guys! I want to try the TME MOD to try to overclock the CPU and get an extra punch for games. Problem is, I'm not too sure how to TME MOD this feature. PLL is ICS9LPRS365BGLF but when I move the slider in SetFSB the system hangs.
Aspire 5738G Intel Core2 Duo P7350(2.0GhZ & 1066FSB)
Thanks in advance!!!
By the way, i also tried ThrottleStop with the latest hacked bios for my laptop and all functions work. I can decrease Multiplier but not increase it. -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Can you upload a screenshot of setfsb with the diag tab?
-
Here it is. Thanks!
http://spoton.comuf.com/OverClock/SetFSBDiag.png -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well looks like TME mode is enabled, you need a pinmod to disable it.
See the examples in the table on the first page of this thread.
You have a second problem, you need to find what bit setfsb is changing to cause the system to hang.
Try changing bit 2 of byte 0 (my guess). Does the system hang when you do that? -
I changed from PLL Control Reg... upper row 02 which indicated FC and changed the Bin's input to 11111000. Then updated and applied. PLL Control Reg... 02 changed to F8 now.
But as soon as I hit the set FSB button. Same thing happens. The screen goes black but the hard drive starts reading more than usual, nonstop, until I just hold the power button. -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
No, I wanted you to change the top left byte (value = 03) to 07.
But it was just a guess. Anyway, if that causes the system to lockup, it might be the problem. -
Ok, did that and yes, screen freezes.
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Well I guess the first step is to do the pinmod.
Then send an email to abo and ask him to make sure setfsb doesn't change that bit. He will probably want a donation. -
Ok, thanks for your time.
-
Back on topic, after playing around I get a good stable clock of 2.65GHz (enormous 650MHz overclock) and memory clock of 700MHz (1.4GHz effective). Everything runs great but in games it felt like everything is accelerated, the speeches especially don't have fullstops. I don't mean it sound like chipmunk but the next speeches come before the previous guy finished talking. Any ideas why did this happen? The IDT guy say the other clock (PCI, USB) is independent of the CPU clock so nothing else is overclocked -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Not sure about that.
I read somewhere that when you overclock a PS2 that happens because the timing of the game is linked to the FPS (not sure if this is true).
I have never heard of it happening on a PC.
Maybe the windows timer is off, dowload this and check:
XtremeSystems Forums - View Single Post - ThrottleStop - Performance Adjustment Tool for Core 2 / Core i CPUs
-
Thanks for the info. Never heard of such problem before. My ratio raises up to 1.3 so that explains it. Don't bother me that much, framerate don't increase much but since its accelerated games feels faster so its a bit advantages in some way
-
nX3NTY, does your notebook have HPET support? If it does you should be able to use that instead of running off the CPU clock which will skew if you change BCLK via SW.
-
Hey Dufus, there are no HPET setting in BIOS. ASUS laptop BIOS always lack of everything, only their RoG board have some useful setting. Maybe there are some setting in Windows I could do? I done some digging, there is workaround for XP by using usepmtimer on boot.ini but not 7

sorry i want overclock a note hp dv6 1140 with cpu intel core 2 duo p8600.
anone know the mode unlock the TME on mb (quanta 3628) ?
thanks -
Yeah, Windows can seem a bit odd sometimes. If you have HPET (most likely) but it's not being used by W7 try running a cmd box with admin priv's and enter the following...
Code:bcdedit /set {current} useplatformclock yes
GL
I've attached a small proggy so you can check before and if necessary afterwards. -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Your prog tells me that the CPU clock is being used, but my ratio is 1 using unclewebbs prog.
Why is that?
EDIT: That still happens even after I used your command. -
idk, would you check with RWeverything and show the HPET tab? Thanks.

Dufus, I have read that the HM55 do support HPET from Wiki if its accurate so I pull the trigger.... andthe command works, your program detects it and WinTimerTester is right on the money, at around 1.000. You really made my day
Thanks man, really, REALLY appreciate it. Can't thank you enough.
